    I said this before on one of your previous videos. What I HATE is when ppl who talk so negative about Dominican Republic or Dominican women as if those negative things don’t apply EVERYWHERE. Poverty, crime, prostitution, slums, bad traffic, etc is EVERYWHERE. I’m not even Dominican or live in DR. Also, I agree with James about NOT moving to DR to work. Move there with the currency from your Country. More than likely your money will go further living in DR.

And I can tell ye this: no matter how crowded the streets or the beaches were: just by the way they were carrying themselves in The NETHERLANDS, GERMANY, SPAIN they mad it plain to everybody WITH LIPS SEALED: WE'RE NOT YOUR TAKEN FOR GRANTED AFRICANS!!!

    • @kayakingdominicana
      @kayakingdominicana Год назад +2

      @@gunorijssel7987 but the video has nothing to do with Europe, it’s about folks from the US living in the DR. And I’m Dominican-American living my entire life between both places, and that man even looks like a brother of mine. Clearly if you put him in an interrogation room of course the American will come out of him, but if he walks through the streets of DR, I wouldn’t right away guess he’s from the US.

    You can meet good local women anywhere. I've met local dominican women in the supermercado several times.. the Jumbo, the farmacia, restaurants, bars, beaches, hotels, pools, house parties, birthday parties for sure. incluso en la barbería que tienen mujeres que también se hacen tratamientos faciales después de cortarse el pelo. que son hermosas There are plenty of local women who are good women out there. And I love Santo domingo too bro. I agree it has a city life feel to it. And coming from NY I gravitated to that instantly. And I've been all over that island. I like the contribution of your husband in your videos because it makes for a more balanced presentation since most of your subscribers are extranjeros. I will say that one of the things that is difficult in all urban areas of the Dominican Republic is the traffic. True Santo Domingo is more congested because it is the largest urban center in the country, but I have driven in Santiago, I live in Puerto Plata and I just returned this weekend from a trip to Moca and driving was a challenge. A major problem is the motos that are like "moscas" flying everywhere around you it's almost like you need 6 eyes, 2 in front, 2 on the side and 2 on the back of your head...jajaja! I remember I was shopping in a store in Santo Domingo with my cousin (male) : a female employee was flirting with my cousin in front of me, asking for his number 😳. I was like " She does not even know if we are a couple or not 🤷🏾‍♀️. My cousin could not speak nor understand her so she asked another employee to try to translate...Right in front of me 😳 😂 Yeah, they are really really HOT in DR.

    Lovely couple. Regarding the discussion the bottom line is Dominican Republic is a developing economy so women are a little more financially disadvantaged, it’s patriarchal, and women generally expect help from men more. Add the fact that the women who foreign men meet would be more likely to be in lower socioeconomic class, it shouldn’t be surprising they make a lot of demands. Not much different from my country or most developing countries.

    I’m happy that I stumbled upon this info. I’m also considering a move. I live in Canada but my girlfriend lives there. She’s from San Pedro, but works & lives in Distrito Nacional. I stay in Bella Vista when I visit. I really love it there.
    However, in regards to the scamming. I think that it has been exaggerated, but I have experienced scamming in the district. For example, my gf would tell me how much she normally pays Apollo taxi and when they take me they would charge me over 2x or 3x the amount. So I only take Uber now. I also had a bad experience when I went to the clinic on Independence Avenue. I went there at 9am, then they told me to return at noon. When I returned there was only 1 person waiting and they attended to me last which was 6pm 😂. My gf was very mad when I told her so she called the doctor and complained. Not sure if it’s a policy to attend to foreigners last but I had paid (not an example of scamming, but I did feel horrible when I realized that I was intentionally treated last although I was one of the first ones there)

    • @NorberisR
      @NorberisR  Год назад +1

      Keep in mind those taxis charge by time of day or what day it. None have a set price.

    • @wanga211
      @wanga211 Год назад +1

      @@NorberisR That’s fair. Don’t get me wrong. I do believe these cases have been exaggerated, but for example, in one instance I took a taxi from W&P Hotel on Sarasota to Av Romelo Betancourt, not too far from Downtown Center & driver said 500 pesos. I didn’t walk because I had luggage. This was around 11am. So while exaggerated, it does happen and I can understand why one may feel targeted because they are “gringos”.

    • @NorberisR
      @NorberisR  Год назад

      $500 pesos was probably a little too much but taxis will not move their car for less than $350 pesos. So maybe he did overcharge you by $2.50 USD. That's why I recommend taking Uber.

    On constructive criticism that I do have is only for the music overlapping🙈 I like the calm music you picked it fits well but I can still hear the music that was playing while filming. It’s a little distracting but doesn’t take away from how good this video is. 🫶🏽

    • @NorberisR
      @NorberisR  Год назад

      It's a reason the music is overlapping. The music in the restaurant is copyrighted music. The video would have gotten demonitized so adding another layer keeps it from happening.
