  • So I felt the need to make this video because I get a lot of messages from men asking me about finding a woman in DR or relationships with Dominican women and even men who currently have relationships with Dominican women but not sure if she is being honest in their relationship. A lot of times I see guys going about dating women in Dominican Republic the wrong way. The last thing I want to do is offend people but I just want to be honest with you as to what I'm seeing and why some are not getting the results they are looking for. Enjoy!

Norberies, I met a Dominican woman online and this October we'll be married for 5 years now. She's a good woman. She never asked me for money and each I went to see her in Puerto Plata, she always took care of me.

I'm a dominican woman and dating older men has taught me that no matter how young you are they can be more immature than you. I'm in my 20s and from my experience I can tell that not every man is emotionally prepared for dating younger women, they're always affraid of you being young and pretty. I'm proud of being latina and I take pride on my curves and skin. I would love to have someday the peace of a healthy relationship based on respect, a ton of love and trust.

👍I agree with you 100% sometimes it do not matter the age. Some people doesn't matter what age they are they are not mature mentally or emotional.

    • @The_Judge300

I think you are 100% correct that many men are not mature and secure enough to have a relationship with a younger woman.
But that goes for women too.
When I was 23-25, I lived together with a 18 years older woman and she struggled with the same as the men you talk about.
She was so insecure about herself and worried about me wanting women younger than her.
At the end her insecurity ruined our relationship.
It stressed me out so much and poisoned the relationship so much that I got enough of it and left.
Before I never cared about the age difference in my relationships.
It never had an impact on who I dated or had a relationship with.
      The same goes with ethnicity
I have lived together with women from 20 years younger to 18 years older than me.
And with with women of european, latin and african decent and culture.
But now at 54, I have found that very few woman at my age and down to about 12-15 years younger than me are of any interest to me.
I find few of them attractive and most are to mature and old at heart.
The very few I find attractive at that age, both in looks and mind, are usually taken for life.
I think many single men at my age feel the same and many single men at my age only cares about the age and looks and wants to find a 23 year old supermodel.
So, the competition for younger women that prefers older men is very big😄
Being the relaxed realist I am, I expect to stay single as I am not desperate enough to take whatever is on offer and instead focus on other aspects of life till maybe the lighting strikes and drop the dream woman on my lap😄
I hope you very soon will find what you seek and live a very happy life with a man that loves you and respect you a lot.

I end up feeling n the Dominican Republic as a companion traveler with someone. I absolutely fell in love with the country. I have returned to the country several times just to get away from the chaos here because I find it so relaxing there for me. I never went there looking for women but ended up meeting a Dominican woman in the airport here in the US and we are now dating. Although I never went to the DR for women, I did notice and was attracted to DR women’s overall view of life and importance of family and home. I got to see it in a different way because I wasn’t looking for a relationship and I have never visited a resort or tourist area. I always resided in the community areas where Dominicans actually live. You are so right about learning the culture. The relationship that I have now is absolutely great because even though she lives here in the US, understanding her culture really has allowed our relationship to blossom. GREAT VIDEO!!!

I visit the DR a lot and I've had good and bad experiences. There's def a lot of chapiadoras but they are pretty easy to weed out. You just gotta go with you gut. If it doesn't feel right then 9 times out of 10 its not. A lot of men want "traditional" relationships but don't want to do traditional things too. I mean if you expect a woman to cook, clean and "serve' you then paying bills and stuff like that is going to come with the territory. I've had some super chapis and liars that left a bad taste in my mouth and I've met some really good woman and we just didn't work. But one thing men should realize is if women in the states don't want you then why would a dominican woman want you? If you can't get an 8 or 9 in the states then don't expect that in the DR lol

About the 9s and 10s here or in any other country IF you are not up to par financially. When you have bread you can get those kinds of women, not saying cats without paper can't get that with their mouth piece, but how can they do this her when most don't even know how to carry out a basic convo in Spanish without using a translator smh.

My experiences beg to differ. I definitely have it a lot easier in the DR than the states. Women in the States have much more unrealistic standards and inflated egos. Women in the states often demand very superficial things that dominican women don't care about such as having a large instagram presence. There are a lot of guys that can't get anything in the states but they can get something in the DR. She might not be a 9 or 10 but it's something.

This is one of the best videos and it came from a Latina, 👏🏽👏🏽my experience, in 2019 Dec I was at a bar in Puerto Plata Malecón, speaking with a black American, he said to me “you have a beautiful family, my Dominican wife, her sister and sister’s boyfriend, I told him we live in UK, I’m not Dominican but Cuban, He asked how did we meet I told him, we were introduced at a family party on one of my trips to Santiago De Los Caballeros 8 years ago by her cousin, my friend who lives in UK near me. The conversation was long and led me to think about the differences in culture, attitudes, approach, expectations, the image being portray by you tubers is detrimental to the DR and it’s visitors, I told him my wife is a University graduate like myself, but she’s a Bioanalista graduated in the DR and also the UK, He actually believes that most Dominicanas are like the women he associates with in Sosua. I’m not saying all black Americans are like this so be calm with you replies.

😂 at all the gifs in the video. Especially “she belongs to the streets” hilarious. 😆 great informative video. I personally wouldn’t take any woman serious if I’m not around her everyday. At least in the long term. I also agree that once you get there you have to become accustomed to the change in environment. That’s why I want to re learn the language. I used to be conversational while in college years ago but I lost it because I didn’t practice after college.
Also being to the island every year since 2013 I’ve noticed that the best way to find a good mate is by introduction from friends or association. Because they have an intimate knowledge of both you and the person and can have an idea if it has a chance to work. Another thing I noticed is that Dominicans in general don’t take foreigners seriously if they don’t attempt to learn and respect the language and culture. So initially there’s a stigma attached to “dating” gringos. 😅 which is completely understandable. At the end of the day water seeks and finds its own level. So if you are used to dealing with good women you will attract good women. The reverse is also true. I’ve always been in “vacation” mode and never seriously considered dating there. Don’t get me wrong I always show a woman a good time because I like beautiful things and experiences, but now that I’m going to be relocating there in the near future I will consider getting serious. Because Dominican women are 🔥 🤷🏽‍♂️ Again great video Norberis! Peace!

I was in the DR in May to take a look at a small community project I sponsored (I have a cousin who moved to the DR 28 years ago and is now director of a mission organization in the DR). Maybe because I'm not a jet setter, bar/club hopping kind of person, and not on the market for a relationship, I found that I bumped into so many nice ladies of various ages and socioeconomic groups (doctors to working class to poorer class). I got so many great interactions on video that I've only scratched the surface on editing. But anyhow, let me see if you agree with the following suggestions regarding your recommendation for a guy to move there: 1. try to start learning Spanish (I found even with my bad Spanish, - people appreciated me at least trying) 2. examine & critique what you bring to the local community (don't just look at what you can get out of the community); if you're concerned about and involved in the local community, you gain trust & respect and people may want you to meet their eligible friends or relatives. 3. If you're not a settled emotionally mature traditional person yourself, stop looking for a wife who is traditional as you're bound to mess up some lovely lady's life.

Norberis I hope al lis well. Thoughts come to my mind when I think about the message in this video. When you have a chance ask your husband what it means when a person says “a closed mouth doesn’t get fed.” Basically a person can’t know what another person really wants unless they are told. I cannot count how many Dominican women I have met that said to me “yo no pido por nada!” or “todos los hombres saben lo que las mujeres necesitan.” If closed mouths don’t get fed how can an “extranjero” from another culture know what a Dominican woman wants and needs unless she tells him?
Since “todas las mujeres no son iguales” women are different with varing wants and needs that are not always clear on the surface. My point is similar to the one I made earlier, sometimes the extranjeros problem in the Dominican Republic is ingnorance. Sometimes we just don’t know and we either need someone to teach us or we have to learn the hard way through experience. Keep up the good work!

Stop trying to impress and change image, if someone love you they will love you as you are and what you have and can share together

Hola Norberis. Gracias por esta. I think alot of comments are made in humor, not necessarily wanting to date woman in the videos. Not all but some. As someone who has and is dating Dominican woman I absolutely agree it would be essential to spend much time with that person before you can even consider becoming serious. Problem is most of us don't have alot of time to spend in country if you are still working. I myself do not want to wait until I retire so I try to make friends here and there. You never know where it can lead in the future. But you are right to not consider a long distance friendship as more than what it is

So my experience is to meet anyone that meets my spirit. I didn’t go to the Dominican to find love but I just happened to meet a beautiful lady 19 years younger. 54-35. I liked her a lot but I just built on the relationship after several visits and traveling. I actually don’t look 54 more like 38 so we kind of fit. To be honest she is beautiful but I was looking for a beautiful heart. She Carrie’s herself like a woman of like 46-48 so to me it was a good fit which is maturity. I have worked extremely hard on my relationship with her and I am about to get married. Trust is big on me and I feel very good about that I truly do. I send money of course but we spend a lot of time together. I come and go like every two months for 14-20 days I am a relationship guy so I know the work is put in with my fiancée. It’s a little more with me I am financially able to be in her life every day pretty much. I am like a family member because I go so much friends think I live there. I do believe in any relationship you have to put in the work. For me it has been good extremely good. We are planning to get married and she wants to come here but I will keep the apartment down there.

Hi Norberis, great awareness information! I just began to follow you. I'm actually planning a trip to the DR in a couple of weeks, specifically Santiago Domingo and will be staying at the renaissance. This will be my first trip visiting; just a mini vacation for 4 days. I'm just going to check it out for the first time and maybe have some fun. I heard a lot of good things about the people and the culture of the DR to which I can relate, because based on what I'm hearing from some friends the culture is (ALMOST) similar to the African culture. If not, then I stand to be corrected. However, I have lived partially in Africa before where my mother was born. The culture and tradition there is awesome. Anyways I'm traveling alone, single and hoping to find a long lasting friend and perhaps we can take it to another level. Please give me some ideas like places to go and people I can meet and trust etc. lol!

Good point about aligning expectations when traveling overseas - you'd think these things would be obvious. @Norberis - great solid advice. The one thing you did not touch on is the need to learn Spanish. What is your thoughts. For a successful relationship both partners have to speak a language with a degree of proficiency. I think both the woman and the man have to dedicate to learn each other's language to prepare for when they meet each other's friends and family. No family or friends will want to use google translate five years after you met them, that shows laziness. Also about women wanting money, if you meet a woman who has no job the man should expect she will need assistance. We all know minimum wage in most developing nations is around $300 from Asia. Africa to Latin America so off course it makes sense that your partner will need some level of assistance.

    • @NorberisR

Facts sis, thank you for sharing!!! I am 57yrs old and have traveled the world, I have been traveling the World since I was 21yrs old and 60 countries and 6 continents later, the one thing I have learned from my traveling the world is that a women is a women and all women want and like nice things because this is all women's DNA!!!
When American men talk about American women being materialistic, they haven't traveled outside the boarders of the United States because every culture of women all have their needs.
All countries are based on their economics, developed economies, transition economies and developing economies and men need to understand that women regardless of what countries, cultures and economies they come from they have needs that they are going to meet because this is a woman's DNA.
Men can't change a women's DNA, embrace all women and men will be 100% alright, I have a lot of Black male friends of mine that are married to women from all continents and these women are the same in their DNA and all my friends have learned to grow their love with women from other cultures instead of trying to change their women.

Norberis. Relationships are not built overnight. They sometimes take years to have a strong solid relationship especially when it comes to long distance relationships. The foundation have to be built. Both people have to build trust , reliability, dependability , security etc, etc, etc. it’s not a quick thing. You made a great point though with should be obvious to every man or woman. There are certain characteristics that every women or men have on planet earth that will never change. But depending on their culture, it makes them more or less desirable to others. Your very right though a lot of Unrealistic expectations. A lot of children in grownup bodies. I don't like dividing women into classes by number based on their looks. After all, it's about people and therefore about more. For me it's not necessarily more difficult to get together with a woman here in Europe or in the States if you try. The difference to the DR is that in many situations you don't have to do anything, the girls come to you by themselves

8:50 Correct me if I'm wrong, but the appearance is mainly important the moment you decide to meet someone, right? However, when you get to know the guy, I can't imagine, the looks alone will make you want to be with him. Maybe, it's different in your country than in any country I know, but, from my personal experience, women want to feel financially safe, and if the good-looking guy can't provide a safe environment (financially), his looks won't help much. Well, try to pay your bills with your partner's looks ;-). Just saying. Obviously, the perfect case scenario is when he has it all, the looks, the character and the cash, but as we all know, that happens once in a blue moon, and is rather unrealistic to expect.

Great Video Norberis. I think if a man is in the RD or any other "poorer" country, he gotta be out his sh*t in the DR as much as he about his sh*t in the USA. That's number one! So he can't be no slouch or think like that. Women in general are a great distraction and most men failures in life are directly due to how they deal with women (in general).
He gotta have goals and dreams and working towards them agressively while still making enough time for another person - if they are worth it.
If I have a woman who is real, I don't mind handling stuff for the home, paying for food, the bills etc, making sure she is content. As long as she takes care of home and is a real women and has the most upmost respect for her man.
But what I see with most, not just the RD, the women are extremely greedy and just seem to be looking for a come-up this day and age. All ages.
I think in the DR, it's greatly magnified since there are so many "Quality looking" women we interact with and are more open to "getting to know us". So don't take it personal. I think they just lack appreciation. A person can be poor as dirt, but it's little things one can do to domonstrate that appreciation. Us guys are simple creatures.
I think many Dominicanas miss out on really great men due to pure greed and their level of expectations. A huge percentage of them don't ever feel they have to come out their pockets for ANYTHING at all lol, they just wanna take take take... And take some more. It just seems like a good 80% of people there, especially women don't really think long term.
On another note, I do feel that it's extremely important to speak the language. As you said, you don't have to be super fluent, but good enough to have a conversation about various topics without looking at a translator most of the time - If you're looking at a translator for more than 30% of the convo, you're done. The man gotta know a little bit about the culture too, such as music, they gotta be able to sing a little something, even if it's the chorus, names of singers, etc.
I don't believe any girl will be truly interested in a man who knows nothing about her culture and can't have a basic conversation in her language. Most American guys have the attitude like, "I don't have to learn sh*t, she gotta learn everything about me and learn English",which is very untrue.
