Do you really know the truth about Dominican women. I see so many videos talking about dating in Dominican Republic and most of these men are generalizing all Dominican Republic women. They are taking their limited experience in one isolated area and applying it to the entire country. It's really disturbing and sickening to watch. Although, I know their experiences are real, there should be some type of balance to their opinion. And I really never hear that. We are no different than most women. We have regular lives and do normal things. It's time someone speaks up about this issue. So I'm here to set the record straight about these misconceptions about Dominican women. Listen up and pay attention!

I've traveled to the DR several times. Puerto Plata/Sosua... I live in New York and know a lot of Dominicans. My overall experience with Dominican women is that they are family-oriented, respectful, and hardworking.

Exactly I tell people you can’t generalize an entire group of people. Sometimes when I tell people I am in a relationship with a Dominican woman, people would laugh or not take me seriously, so I wouldn’t tell people in family. It sucks that the women have to carry that type of reputation from your country when I know for a fact that there are very good genuine women in your country. And yes I agree those things happen in certain areas. Even when I try to explain these things on my channel , sometimes people don’t take me seriously so it’s good to hear this coming from a Dominican woman herself

Hi Norberis, excellent knowledge you’re dropping in this vlog, and equally as important, you’re on point! I just returned from your country last week. I was in the capital, Santo Domingo for 2 weeks and visited other areas as well, but my hotel was in la zona colonial off Calle Conde. I’ve been traveling to the DR since 2006, and have always, always enjoyed the people, food, beaches, sunshine and the over atmosphere of the island. I have American friends who have transitioned there, and also new Dominican friends that I’ve met while visiting. But, to your point, I’ve found that if Someone wants to experience the “real” Dominican culture then you must be willing to explore more than just the tourist areas. It’s a big beautiful island, with lots of beautiful people and there’s more to experience than just Sosua, Puerta Plata, Boca Chica at night or other “fast” spots. The truth of the matter is; people will seek what they desire...and they will generally find it! Loved this vlog, excellent content!

Norberis this was a great topic. RD is full of good women and most men go to these tourists areas then generalize the women and think that all the women in the whole island are the same. The truth is that even some of the working chicas are good aswell, the economy there is very bad and the jobs pay poorly so they have to do what they have to do to survive and provide for their family.

You have a very good channel; I could imagine you with a TV show of some-sort, ESPECIALLY because of your personality, your realism, and your various topics. Man, I hope some TV executive discovers you! Yes, you look aesthetically pleasing, but again, your PERSONALITY (and realism) is what sets you apart. Question regarding Mamajuana. So...I've made some several times in the past using the same bark of course, but its been 3 yrs since; do you think the bark will still be good to use? I've heard mixed reviews about this

Caribbean people are the salt of the earth, well mannered, and friendly. I know people have their own reasons for travel, but when all you hear is the fantasy, it's easy to forget the reality. Great video. Definitely needed. Everything that you spoke of, I agree with. It is refreshing to hear the truth, especially from someone who is from there. I really related to your video because I have been going to DR consistently since 2009.I have been in relationships with some very good women there. I like Santo Domingo the best. The only time I went to Sosua was for the beach with my girlfriend from Puerto Plata. I have been to Cabarete, Rio San Juan, Santiago and Boca Chica also. I have seen many of these negative videos also and don't care for them. I can understand why many of these men who only been to tourist traps have such a negative opinion, because that is their experience. The current news events have not helped either. I have never been scared to travel to DR and never will. As a matter of fact, I feel safer there and some other countries than i do in my own country, USA. Love your videos, I am a sub.

@@TheoryJC My husbands said the same thing we he first went there. He is a black man and he likes it better there than here in the States. He said he feels safer, more connected, and more free to be himself. Santiago and Santo Domingo are great places to find normal Dominican women.
It was refreshing to hear the perspective of a true Dominican woman. I already knew that there were good women there as any other country. There are red light areas in just about every country there is and people should know that. Common sense tells you that if you go to a brothel then you will get that kind of girl, but if you take your time and emerge your self into the culture and try to speak the language then there is a good chance you may fine a good girl. Continue to do what you do. Oh yea I like that part at the end where you said it will cost you. LOL

Thank you for telling the truth about why some men/people go to the Dominican Republic. A few can give many a bad name; its anywhere you go just like drugs and taxes. You (women) all are gorgeous; you are gorgeous. My neck finally recovered from all my head turning! I, from my visits, think you are very respectable, family oriented, beautiful people. I visited with my best friend who had met his then, soon to be wife. I was definitely in the 'non tourist' section lol/jaja and the perspective was unforgettable.

It is very hard to determine by video chat. You will definitely need to be around someone to get a feel for them. But she is asking for money right away then that is not a good sign.

I Just discovered your channel AND I AM SUPER HAPPY THAT YOU MADE THIS VIDEO. It is really sad what some of the American youtubers are doing. But perhaps it really speaks to who some of them are while they are in America. As I have said countless times: when I have traveled to Puerto Plata the plane ride is so embarrassing. The cast of characters on that plane. OMG. That being said I started going to Punta Cana area (Higuey) and have made many friends. Even Santo Domingo. Try Monte Cristi. Its sad that some who travel to the Puerto Plata/Sosua area do not have the intellectual capacity to understand that that does not represent DR or the people. Folks get out and explore if you are going to visit. And act civilized.

Hola Norberis, I've been to the DR 4 times in the last 3 years. I dont go to the tourist areas. I've been to Ssnto Domingo most of the times. And San Cristobal, and Santiago. But I did go to Boca Chica . But I was with someone so I wasn't there chasing women lol. Each time I went there I went there to be with someone so I was never alone. And I always traveled with her family. We took bus rides but mostly taxi rides. I had a great time each time I went there. But you just have to be careful. No open expensive jewelry. No open cell phones. No taking pics like a tourist lol. Once we took a taxi to the Agora mall from the middle of Santo Domingo and it was around 300 pesos. Coming back she and I was talking and it costed 450 pesos. She told me next time dont talk jajaja. But I'm from the Bronx, and I've been through Brooklyn a lot. The DR in some places is no different. I'm going back in a few weeks. To Santo Domingo, and a trip to Juan Dolio too.
Many dont realize you'll have a better time in non tourist areas and around regular Dominicans. And I tell my husband the same thing not to talk when we are out doing business because once they hear you are American the price goes up...lol

I feel that the country like other developing countries need a better political foundation to establish a better government, for the people. Non-tourist areas allows you to see how local Dominicans live and interact with each other. Food at the local restaurants are incredible. I travel with Dominicans, i just don't talk when ordering the food lol. So you married an American? Good for you. Are you going for dual citizenship? Yes, I'm married to an American. I came here on a work visa and became citizen that way not through marriage. And yes I do have 2 passports.
Excellent video and every word is fact. The men who visit the unsavory areas have never been to places like San Francisco de Macoris, Cotui, Pimentel, Santiago, Nagua or Bonao. Those areas have some of the most beautiful and decent women in the country. I think some of this propaganda has come about because Many of these men who go with the prostitutes want to seem like they are knowledgeable and they are schooling all the other men on the “reality” or the so called “Real deal” to make themselves seem more street smart. Their reality is based on sex trade experience or unique situations. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a video of a man going and talking to the decent women. For every one prostitute or chapi they are probably 100 decent and respectful women who come from good families and who want a better life that’s not just for money. You should never feel bad in fact you should feel proud of who you are because there are many men who don’t have RUclips channels who adore decent women in your country and respect them as well.

Most people who say that only visited tourist areas. If you go to any tourist area everything is about business. No one is being friendly to be friendly. They want your money. Places like Santo Domingo and Santiago are great places to find authentic Dominican women.
@@NorberisR I agree with Santiago, BUT I think that there are only some places in Santo Domingo that are good to meet women. For example, I generally wouldn't meet a girl who I find by that Habibi Hookah Lounge or VIP Room or that general area. I think the girls from Santo Domingo Este are really nice though.

Mrs. Norberis so I am new to your channel. I have watched many videos about dating and women in the Dominican Republic. I want to ask so I joined a site called Dominican Cupid. I have meet so many women but I haves to block most of them as they right away ask me for money. So my question is as a single man going to Santo Domingo what can I expect there? First I do not recommend meeting women on a dating site in Dominican Republic. This is not the typical way to meet a decent Dominican woman in my opinion. Not saying there are none there but it will mainly be women looking for foreign men for money. You can expect a variety of women in Santo Domingo you have to go to the right places to meet them. With the curfew I'm not really sure how you can meet them beside in places like the mall, restaurants, and colmados. There are some bars that might be open in the day time just not sure. But if you are in the Zona Colonial area there's a big chance these women are not what you are looking for. Decent Dominican women, not saying all, do not like to go places where foreigners hangout because we know what the perception foreign men have of us. You need to find the places Dominicans hangout. Areas like Piantini, Naco, Bella Vista you'll find upper class women. Santo Domingo Este and around Ave Venzuela you'll find the more of the average Dominican woman.

I’m from LC, Missouri and I have traveled to the DR a few times. Much respect, thank for standing up for our beautiful sisters. Yes, some participate in activities of pleasure; but most are family oriented, hard working and yes BEAUTIFUL women. As with most women of color there are so many complexion: from the dark brown to light skin. It is good that someone, especially a woman, has spoken out about this. I been to the DR twice (December 2016, and December 2017) and both experiences was full of culture, beaches, touring the island…, beautiful island, beautiful people. I was (still want to) buy a house in the DR. I would like something on the beach or walking distance. I saw your video on properties and it has sparked my interest in having a vacation home in the DR. Secondly, truth be told I’m partial to women of color and I have traveled a number of places (Jamaica 3 times, Cozumel 2 times, Bahamas 2 times, Key West, Puerto Rico, Mexican Rivieria, DR 2 times and Antigua) and I must say as a man of color some of the most beautiful women to me are Dominican. I wanted to get on a dating site but was discouraged just by what you spoke of. I only came across the chapi 😔 but knew that wasn’t a true representation of Dominican Women. I became good friends with a family from Punta Cana (I stayed at a small resort close to beach called Sol y Playa. Dominic and his wife (and family) have rooms there and you’re right the 7 days I was there he and his family had me everywhere lol.. even Santa Domingo (beautiful church there). I kept in touch with him to this day. Well, I’m married now ( not Dominican) and still would like to get a house there (maybe $55,000US-$65,000 US) I know this was a long message lol… thank you for responding. I truly didn’t expect it since the post was 2yrs old. I applaud 👏🏾 you and keep representing your people and culture. I even Batcha a lil when I was there 💃🏽🕺🏾

Norberis, not only Americans have this opinion about Dominican women. Already 30 years ago, long before the Americans came to the Superbowl in hum, people here in Germany were raving about the hot, easy girls in Sosua and Boca Chica. Unfortunately, that's how it is, but thanks to the worldwide web, it has a much more fundamental negative meaning today.

Hello, you disabled the comment function in "Why the Obsesion". Maybe it's better that way. Why this obsession? I can tell you I hate those damn expats in Sosua like the plague. Their videos here on RUclips. In which they praise the girls promoting prostitution, sometimes as looking for a good man. They do a more or less decent interview, the girls give their phone numbers and their Instagram, shake their butts a few more times and the next one please. These guys know exactly what to do with it, while most girls don't, either. Even if these girls get together with a foreigner who they consider good, the video will also be seen by others, for example people from the man's immediate environment. The internet never forgets.

I’ve been to Santo Domingo, Santiago, Puerto Plato, and sosua. My experience as far as traveling was amazing. I want a loyal woman with goals, dreams, and respect for themselves. I feel like the woman in DR are just doing that to make money. Not all but a lot. Which I understand because the opportunity is limited and just like in the US it’s a quick dollar. Some of the women enjoy that lifestyle while others not so much. It’s all about the money.

That's interesting however, I will never debate anyone's experience because it's their truth. I've never asked a man for money in my life, and I would think it would be unbelievable to say I'm the only woman in DR that doesn't do that. So I know there are women that don't and you can have a normal relationship with.

Looking to take a trip to the DR. I am looking to experience the culture, food, music and beaches. I am looking for a women that lives a wholesome Christian lifestyle, is educated and interested in a long-term relationship. What is the best place to go in the DR to find these thing?
Mostly the very educated women will be in the bigger cities like Santo Domingo and Santiago since most of the industry are in those cities. Punta Cana is also a good place too

This happens in America too. Why isn't the American government not doing anything about it there? Why do people act like prostitution only exist in DR. Its the world's oldest profession. This happens everywhere.

I have found people warm up to you when they see you are making an attempt to understand their language and culture.

The first DR woman i met was like you; Professional, beautiful, intelligent, etc. Unfortunately, she was the hostess at the hotel I was staying at in Punta Cana. Inappropriate to approach and i didn't know much spanish then but I did have my man servant get flowers for her. Something tells me he just gave her the money. pero esta bien porque ahora puedo hablar en espanol. Entonces la proxima tiempo :-) Kinda

Interesting video, I've visited there 2x and I really enjoyed my visit. I know that there are some good women there and some bad one's, just łike anywhere else in the world. I had an experience with a young lady, prior to my visit there were talked a lot and finally met in person 😊

That one area of Sosua has people thinking this goes on all over the island. Life is normal in 95% of the island.
I could recommend areas like Gazcue, Zona Colonial, Piantini, Naco, Bella Vista, La Julia, etc are all good areas.

Lets be real.... At times it is hard to differniate a chapi from regular mujer. It is part of the Dominican culture for women to relying on the man to take care of them financially. Yes most men who travel to DR only go to Sousa and Boca Chica mainly for cheap sex. Rarely men will hit up the other cities for the culture and everyday life. Also most men cant speak Spanish so the chances of developing a real relationship with a non pro mujer outside of Sousa and Boca Chica, is 0. Fellas learn the culture, language, and explore the island beyond the puta traps. Also, work on your style and learn how to bachata, mujuers will come. Speaking with 4 years of DR experiences (Santiago, Santo Domingo, Santo Domingo Esta, Puerto Plata, Gasper Hernandez, Sousa, Monti Christi, Punta Cana, Juan Dolio, Higuey, Dajabon and more).

No, they aren't forced. Life is difficult there, and some do it because there aren't many jobs. But no one is forcing anyone to do anything. I definitely didn't grow up with money we lived in lower class neighborhood as most Dominicans do. I never turned to it. Everyone makes their own decisions.
@@NorberisR Thanks for the clarification. So, in the Dominican Republic a expat is improving circumstances when relocating and bringing businesses that can employ the local population. I would rather be loved for helping and improving circumstances.

As I mentioned everyone has a different experience. I can say this I know more women like me (regular women) than the kind in tourist areas so I know they exist and out number chapis 100 to 1. It's hard for me to believe you've been all over the island and never met a respectful Dominican woman. That's like me saying I've been all over the US an never met white person that wasn't racist or black person that wasn't a gangster. If I can say that then, maybe i'm not looking in the right places. I use these example because these a common generalization of white and blacks in America and it's simply NOT TRUE!
Norberis R., well said ! My theory is very simple; most people usually find what they seek! If you’re looking for the “fast” life, then you go to that part of the island where it exists. The DR is a big beautiful island, and the people are just as diverse as in other country...it just has a lot more sunshine!
