    When you bring a Dominican woman over to the USA she is leaving everything to make a better life with you. I would STRESS PATIENCE because you will need ALOT of it because there are SIGNIFICANT cultural differences the Dominican Republic and here. I had to show my wife how to clean (use a vacuum cleaner and washing machine), how to drive (and she WRECKED ANOTHER CAR WHILE TEACHING HER 😅), all the little USA things here on top of all that the language barrier of communicating with her while she was learning English too! Again I can't stress the amount of patience that will be required! But in the end its worth it 100% because we have been married 14 years, her English is darn near perfect now (with that sexy Dominican accent 😍), we have 2 girls, she now drives and works as a Dental Assistant and we were able to get the VISA for her mom so she has been living with us for the past 6 years and she is an absolute pleasure to have (no nightmare Mom in law stories here)!! I grew up as an only child to a single mother so I did not have a big family or STRONG family ties to anyone but my mom but throughout the years watching my wife with her family (6 brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, Aunts and uncles, cousins, etc) I have come to appreciate, understand and develop that strong family bond that she has as well.

    As an American man, One of the skills i look for in a wife is cooking...and cleaning. Yes i can clean and cook but that's more out of survival than desire. Im cable of many skills but i believe a woman's ability to take care of the house is a sign of her desire to take care of the family.

    Of course most Dominican women/ men prefer to be in a relationship with people from their own culture. And I suspect it’s a larger percentage who will prefer to be with than those who would prefer a foreigner. That’s normal in every country; whether we’re talking about race or nationality,even here in the United States it’s true. I never understand why this is an issue. Cultural connections are strong. But then you have the equal opportunity lovers who don’t care ; even if they find it difficult to communicate they will make it work. Sorry again for my long comment. 😄😄😄😄😄But I am so amaze in a negative way why people make statements like these. I would say. Check for the Dominican, Brazilian, Colombian etc, etc who show interest in you. That’s all I have to say Norberis. Keep educating. Great topic. 👌

  • @charlesburrell4233

    The language barrier has been the largest issue. Translators only go so far and then ideas get totally screwed up. You put one thing in and a totally different meaning comes out to your partner. You are left wondering what happened when you see their face or hear their response. Cultural differences is next, but compromise makes that one easier to get passed. My fiance has never been to the USA, so a lot of things she just can't relate to yet. Fortunately for us the long wait will be over next month. If you are still waiting, keep up the faith and your time too is coming. Thanks Norberis for doing what you do. I will reach out to your brothers once my land development allows me to build.

    Hello Norbeis, I like your view point on the Dominican republic women reasons they couldn't cultural adapt to a foreign men's lifestyle or relationship criterias. Many Dominican women only know how to be a Dominican woman and adapting to another cultural value system is impossible for most of them. I commended you for sharing you relationship and living in Dominican republic at a much different prospective view ( RD is not a 3rd world country ).

    • @NorberisR
      @NorberisR  Год назад +1

      Assuming you're an American man all you know how to be is an American man. That makes sense I don't see anything abnormal about that. An American woman will have a hard time adapting to Dominican culture and our value system. A Chinese woman, a Indian woman, a Japanese woman, etc this isn't exclusive to Dominican women. All these women only know how to be the women of their culture if they were raised all their life in it.

    Solid content. Cultural differences can be huge, unless both partners are willing to adapt. Yes even the translation apps are not accurate lol. I must say those (not always) most open to dating foreign men tend to be the more economically disadvantaged. There are also many middle class and upper middle class to upper class women who are not interested in dating a foreign man because in reality they need nothing from you. It is not peculiar to Dominican Republic. Everywhere in the developing world including in my original country, economically disadvantaged women are more open to foreigners.

    I think I've been fortunate. Being honest, I put 2 women to the test on opposite sides of the island. One in Barahona. The other in Puerto Plata. The one in the south has a profession of doing hair and nails. If she asked for money, it was a need and was rare. The one in the north worked in an appliance store with a side hustle of selling nutritional school lunches. I chose the one in the north because I was treated better morally. I made that decision in 2017 and our relationship is stronger now. The cultural differences as she told me,, "arguing is normal here"(discutir es normal aki) which I think is petty and a waste of energy unless about finances. I refuse to argue about groceries or another woman or some photo in my phone.. etc.. Life is but a blink of an eye.

    I really enjoyed this video, Norberis. Adapting to another culture is challenging, but it’s also really cool to learn how other people live. I feel the most important thing, is to learn each other’s language. I really have a lot of respect for you for learning English. I know how difficult that can be because I’ve been studying Spanish for the past 2 years, and there were many times that I felt like giving up, but then it all started to click. You might make a few mistakes, but your English is pretty good. Also, I’ve noticed that the volume on your videos have gotten lower. I’ve had to turn the volume all the way up just to hear you, but when the music comes on at the end, it’s loud. And when the ads come on, they’re at regular volume, so I know the problem is not on my end.

      I thought she would adjust faster as well. That is not the case. And when everything is different than what you have always known it makes things difficult. From the way we celebrate holidays different, to things as simple as doninican time in America is not acceptable haha. She has been here for 1 year now is enrolled in college for English classes and is getting better being able to speak English now. But the difference in how we raise our kids, I have a 12 year old she has a 5 year old. There's alot of struggles and differences. But she Is determined to keep moving forward as in her words she wants a better life for herself and her son.

They always treat me like a movie star I can't complain. BUTTTT, regardless of ANY culture, a man should never show off about $$ or assets. Explain from the get-go that you are serious, level-headed, realistic, & frugal! & that alone should weed off any form of user or gold digger.

Everyone has to figure out what works for them . I would imagine language barrier would be the hardest part but I think if you both working hard to learn each other’s language. Your relationship could end up being stronger for it . Sometimes having to over come something like that really bonds you .

    Wow, you are going to create a lot of controversy with this topic. If you live in the cities in the United States, people mix together pretty much if you live in rural areas, people are mostly going to be with people similar to themselves because that’s who lives there. As for Dominicanas I’ve never felt that they would discriminate against another race as far as dating goes. But most of them and I mean 80% or better are looking for what you can give them financially. As far as what your husband said about 50-50 that will usually come from somebody who has been taken for a ride by a woman and doesn’t want to get burned again.

    • @NorberisR
      @NorberisR  Год назад +1

      Maybe I was misunderstood, I didn't say Dominicans discriminated against other races, I'm actually saying the total opposite. I said most cultures prefer to date within their culture and usually it's based on proximity. All women are looking for what a man can provide financially. What woman wants to be with a man who can't provide? Now there's women who just want to use men for their money, maybe you are referring to that type. Women want safety and security and it takes resources to make that happen.
