I assume you meant physics simulations, but my first thought was to separate the challengers and have them try to create physically accurate renders of each other from memory with zero visual references.
The storytelling and editing in these render challenge videos has gotten so top notch. The formula was already great but when Wren was talking about adding holes to his face and Jordan interjects it's just so funny.
For me, the problem with Jordan's render was that it was so zoomed out. It had the potential to be the worst one by far, but I didn't really feel a visceral reaction because I didn't really see the foot in detail. All 3 renders were excellent, though.
I'm honestly just bummed I can't have visceral reactions to things, I'm like Niko I've been watching horror movies since I was 7 this is like a 1 out of 20 People making noise when they eat pisses me off but CG just doesn't trigger anything
Personally, the more mundane or natural the setup is, the greater the gross-out factor is when you introduce the disgusting elements. So Wren's work - while I love Wren and all things Wren - was the least gross as his had a decidedly cartoonish quality
Hearing Sam's story about the throat cyst and Wren saying he wants suggestions for future gross render challenges I can't pass on the opportunity to share this: When I was 10 my friend had an underbite that was apparently going to keep pushing forward and cause problems when he got older, so he had to have corrective surgery where they removed an equal sized section from each side of his jaw and fused it back together, giving him an overbite. For the recovery his mouth had to be wired shut for a couple months to allow the fusion to take hold and he wasn't allowed solid foods--only liquids through a straw--or to forcefully blow his nose as the pressure could disrupt the healing process. When at last he got home after getting the wires removed and grabbing a cheeseburger and milkshake he was anxious to consume, he said one of the first things he did was try to blow his nose because he took a bite and couldn't breathe while chewing and to his surprise, out came a long tendril of blood, phlegm, and pus that he could feel snaking all the way down his esophagus. He said his dad helped him pull it out and they flushed it down the toilet. Anyways, that's it. Sorry for sharing, it just seemed appropriate.
The visualization that appeared in my imagination, because of everything you just said, has made me more revolted than anything rendered in the video itself. If anything, I'm disturbed and somehow proud despite not knowing you. So good job!
This reminds me of when I had a deviated septum surgery. A week after removing these long silicone tubes that keep your nose structure after the surgery, I went back for a check up and the doctor had to remove the crusts that formed after a bit of healing. It was probably one of the worst pains I've ever felt, because it seemed like the hardened blood, mucus and snot went all the way up to my brain, and she kept pulling it hard until everything came out in a single big chunk. After removing it, my nose started bleeding like a fountain. Good times.
Yuuuuck! A family member of mine is going in for a similar surgery later this week. I'll remember to tell her NOT to tell me ANYTHING about it at the next family reunion.
I don't know why, but Jordan's render made me laugh to a point of near hyperventilation. It was the funniest sh*t I saw today even though it was gross.
You guys should have a competition where you each fix a single bad effect shot in an otherwise good movie. Marty's hand fading in Back to the Future comes to mind. Maybe the puppet head from The Terminator. Everyone gets to pick their own shot.
I thought Wren in his video would peel the skin off, revealing holes underneath, that would be even more disturbing. Also, what Jordan's infamous render were you referring to in the beginning?
Something they had to redact, what little we did see involved a bowling ball guy and a bowling pin girl involved in domestic abuse, then it cut away to reactions.
The thing with Peter's renders is there's almost always a twist. Like his idea seemed the least inventive with popping the spot but then it just kept going. It would've been a touch grosser has more blood and puss come out as the hole got bigger.
Getting goosebumps is generally considered pleasant. But it's pretty difficult to define exactly what causes this ephemeral phenomenon. Could you guys compete in making the most goosebump-inducing (w)renders? That's at least a very abstract and imagination-stretching challenge. But hopefully fun too.
I honestly expected worse from this. Maybe I'm just messed up mentally. Wren's didn't bother me at all. Peter's ALMOST got me, until the little alien dude came out, then I was just laughing. Jordan's didn't do anything for me until the puss, but that was very short compared to the rest of the render. No idea who wins, but I think we can go further.
I think they were walking a fine line of making sure this still remains appropriate for a broad audience. I mean they're RUclips royalty and pride themselves on their mass appeal. I think if they went balls to the wall gross-out then it could end up disturbing enough to undermine the trust some of their audience has in them. People expect Corridor vids to be light, entertaining, informative and astonishingly well-produced - not genuinely unsettling. That's just what I assume anyways.
Exact same here. On Peters, opening the hole was pretty gross but otherwise not much. For Jordan's I think I would've needed a grosser looking foot, but the pus was pretty nasty. I also think Jordan's was visually the best
@@RealPanzer999 I don't think anything they made in this video was gross enough to elicit an actual negative reaction for me, I even went back and replayed a couple moments because I thought they were funny and wanted to see them again. The only legit gross thing (which I've seen before and know how they made it) is the eye cutting clip. That one gives me an actual, like, goosebump reaction. But that particular clip is known for being infamously gross. And it's basically the closest thing possible to real human gore. Not literally a human eyeball in a live human, but it is a real nonhuman eyeball in a package that is pretty much indistinguishable from a real human head, sustaining an irreparable and life altering injury that everybody fears.
You guys are currently my top FAVORITE channel! I’ve always been into CGI/rendering and stuff and this channel puts it to its best! You guys are funny, awesome, and inspiring, *KEEP GOING!*
I’m going to be honest. I absolutely hate seeing everything that’s being shown in this episode so far, so I’m not going to stay for the final reveal. But I’m sure you all did amazing lol congrats
Peter’s was the best! Small and simple. And it actually gave me more “hole fear” than Ren’s. The other two were way too over the top to be actually gross.
Hey Corridor Crew! I’ve been having a rough time lately and I’ve been binging your content and it is not just entertaining but it legitimately makes me smile. Watched you for years, hope to watch you for years more ❤
The grossest things I can think of, that would be extremely fitting with CG renders, is starting with something cute, and having it morph, melt, or rot into something horrifying. Like starting with a cute and fuzzy kitten/puppy, and then having it's skin not exactly connected to the understructure, having the fur turn to mold or plant mater. and then showing what horror it REALLY was.
Personally I found the light going into Wren's head and illuminating it from the inside the worst. I think you need to commit to one gross thing and have it juxtaposed to normal things. When you go overboard and include everything you lose the focus.
I loved this so much, despite nearly barfing at Jordans render. If you really want some inspiration for skin crawlers, take a look at the horror manga's by Junji Ito, his work excels in making you feel uncomfortable and grossed out.
I laughed so hard at Jordan's final (literally with tears)-great job! I think, though, the 'cheese' scrapes falling down could be even more in volume to bring it over the edge. Wren and Peter I didn't find gross at all. Weird how one person's nightmare doesn't bother another one at all.
This is why I am glad I can shrink the size of the screen although the sounds sometimes even got me. Also as someone with trypophobia, I feel your pain Jordan.
Sam- "Why would we create a CGI replication when there is an image? You have to think more abstractly." Jordan: "I'm going to scan and replicate my foot." Wren: "I'm going to scan and replicate my face." Peter: "I'm going to scan and replicate my roommate's face."
Here's an idea for the next one - create a render of someone driving whilst picking their nose, when suddenly they have an accident - we go slow-mo as the airbag deploys and hits their arm, forcing their finger deep up into their nose - so deep that it pops their eyeball out and the tip of the finger protrudes from the eye-socket.
Say less! What's the freakin deal with that. Can we just get back to utilitarianism over aesthetic already? One reason I've never used a Mac. They put more effort into making it fit their brand than anything else. I also just refuse to use apple products period. Lol
@@Scarethelocals & John, I've got a MacBook and the Razer Blade 15. Both keyboards are the same size, which is actually really nice since I swap back and forth daily. I don't have to readjust to wider key or anything. If anything, it is nice that manufactures seem to have reached a consensus on what size a keyboard should be. Also in the case of the Razer Blade series specifically, that space between the edges of the keyboard and the edge of the laptop is so they can include speakers that are actually pretty decent. It isn't like they are wasting that space...
@@unspezifische5924 yeah I have to admit I'm definitely not an expert. I haven't even been in front of a Mac in five or six years. All 3 renders were excellent, though.
Peter is freaking skilled. Tbh I thought his was the grossest. It evoked a physical reaction from me 100%
I actually was really impressed by Jordan’s rendering skills
I'm honestly just bummed I can't have visceral reactions to things, I'm like Niko I've been watching horror movies since I was 7 this is like a 1 out of 20
People making noise when they eat pisses me off but CG just doesn't trigger anything
Y'all should have an "unexpected" render challenge where you don't know where it'll go next or surprises the most
Personally, the more mundane or natural the setup is, the greater the gross-out factor is when you introduce the disgusting elements. So Wren's work - while I love Wren and all things Wren - was the least gross as his had a decidedly cartoonish quality
19:00 The way everyone goes "EUUGHH!!" in unison when he says "...to share with the hungry restaurant-goers" LMFAO
Hearing Sam's story about the throat cyst and Wren saying he wants suggestions for future gross render challenges I can't pass on the opportunity to share this:
When I was 10 my friend had an underbite that was apparently going to keep pushing forward and cause problems when he got older, so he had to have corrective surgery where they removed an equal sized section from each side of his jaw and fused it back together, giving him an overbite.
I'm pretty sure they already did that?
@@gallusmacclure4107 They've fixed bad effects before, but as a group. This would limit the scope of the fix to allow for a bit of competition.
The infamous "Scorpion King" shot. "Black Panther" tunnel fight, any of the VFX shots from horror movies circa 2006-2014 lol
is it? r u slow or slow or slow?
I thought Wren in his video would peel the skin off, revealing holes underneath, that would be even more disturbing.
Also, what Jordan's infamous render were you referring to in the beginning?
It was from the "bowling animation" video, they didn't show the render (because it's too disturbing) so we're only seeing their reaction to it
Yeah I wanna know that as well.
Something they had to redact, what little we did see involved a bowling ball guy and a bowling pin girl involved in domestic abuse, then it cut away to reactions.
I was expecting his skin to be peeled off, too
@@winter9523 The sound effects painted a good picture though. Well, not "good" but you know what I mean.
I haven’t even seen it yet, but I expect Peter’s to be way over the top disgusting. I’m guessing I won’t be disappointed.
I'll second you
And it was!
It also unfortunately follows the Zoomer trend of being unable to take anything seriously
Well that's his signature lol.
The lil xenomorph was perfect
7:33 Saul Goodman theme starts playing
Apart from the disgust-level, can we talk about how talented Peter is with VFX in general?
First time?
yeah like not sure if its his more animated style that makes it more impressive, but his works certainly stands out for the better
Jordan's was amazing, as well.
But yeah, Peter might be the most talented in the Corridor Crew.
The thing with Peter's renders is there's almost always a twist. Like his idea seemed the least inventive with popping the spot but then it just kept going. It would've been a touch grosser has more blood and puss come out as the hole got bigger.
I'm also amazed at how much detail he makes in the short amount of time they have.
I've never seen Wren less enthusiastic over the course of a video. I'm excited to hear about the metrics for this one, folks!
Jordan fits right in with the crew, feel like he were always there
Getting goosebumps is generally considered pleasant. But it's pretty difficult to define exactly what causes this ephemeral phenomenon. Could you guys compete in making the most goosebump-inducing (w)renders? That's at least a very abstract and imagination-stretching challenge. But hopefully fun too.
I'd like to see an "Unexpected" render challenge. Something that completely subverts your expectations
"There's not much in this world that I find more repulsive than feet."
Tarantino: "yeah... repulsive... let's go with that."
Well if you were to be messed up I would be way gone, no reaction at all here. Sooo... I think you're not messed up, at least I hope so.
Exact same here. On Peters, opening the hole was pretty gross but otherwise not much. For Jordan's I think I would've needed a grosser looking foot, but the pus was pretty nasty. I also think Jordan's was visually the best
Agreed
I feel like Jordan’s would have made me wretch if it included the spaghetti being eaten.
I'd still love to see Jordan's infamous render one day

@@sbdreams offensive bowling render challenge
I’m going to be honest. I absolutely hate seeing everything that’s being shown in this episode so far, so I’m not going to stay for the final reveal. But I’m sure you all did amazing lol congrats
Having Wren do the sponsored segment while disguising it as part of the show makes me want to stay and watch the ad. I am all for more Wren ad reads.
Peter’s was the best! Small and simple. And it actually gave me more “hole fear” than Ren’s. The other two were way too over the top to be actually gross.
It's a real psychological thing called trypophobia .
A good video that explains it is on channel scishow
@@ninjawithnobalance yes I know I have it 😅 I just couldn’t remember how to spell it
Nick and wren's reaction to jordan's muck covered foot was just so comedic lol
LMAO! (9:52) "basically a walking asset library"!
Wren is too pure for this world. I just wanna hug him and tell him everything's gonna be fine.
YES! More render challenges
Wren: stop making fun of my fear of spiders!
Also wren: 13:20
That was disgusting. Good work guys
Hey, how you doing
Not disgusting enough!
I love when these guys compete for such challenges. It makes my whole day.
watching this video for the fun corridor vibes but 100% planning to look away as soon as the gross renders come on screen
not gross enough, also, you're welcome
I have a really boring job, all i do is sit on my desk and monitor streams all day. But Corridor Crew always make my day . I love you Guys.
The one with the foot was particularly creative and fun to watch. None of them grossed me out, though.
You, good sir, must have a strong constitution.
Personally I found the light going into Wren's head and illuminating it from the inside the worst. I think you need to commit to one gross thing and have it juxtaposed to normal things. When you go overboard and include everything you lose the focus.
I'm glad you censored that cyst being popped. I looked away even though it was pixelated
Oh dear these cysts unlocked new fear I didn't know I had and it's way deeper than my brutal arachnophobia.
When Sam started talking about his neck cyst, I physically started gagging and feeling nauseous. Great video by the way!
Yeah I agree. The shreds should have much bigger and more visible. Like those big flakes of parmesan 🤢
the transition from "my laptop is fast" to nvidia sponsorship was so clean it took me half the ad to notice
man, they traumatizing the whole studio today
Nice profile name I subbed just because of the memes have a good day
@@shiftycaels1936 thx
you're welcome, but I want more disgusting renders
This is why I am glad I can shrink the size of the screen although the sounds sometimes even got me. Also as someone with trypophobia, I feel your pain Jordan.
That reaction to his dirtied foot at 5:50 felt straight outah some sitcom episode XD
4:46 Even the UPS truck looks sad 😂
Sam- "Why would we create a CGI replication when there is an image? You have to think more abstractly."
Jordan: "I'm going to scan and replicate my foot."
Wren: "I'm going to scan and replicate my face."
Peter: "I'm going to scan and replicate my roommate's face."
I'd like to see a "The Thing" render challenge or like a person melting/dissolving/peeling apart render challenge
ooh yeah
This was what I wanted when I wrote that comment shown in this video. We are almost hiveminded
18:18 perfect timing on Wrens part 😂
You should do a most beautiful render challenge/most appetizing render challenge? It would be very interesting to see what you guys come up with.
Dr. Pimple Popper: "So we're gonna remove a huge pore of winer today..."
Peter: "That's a real nice Xenomorph ya got there"
Wren's render was incredibly hard to keep my eyes on. It pressed my exact gross buttons. I hate it so much. Good job.
Really? It didn't seem gross to me at all. I couldn't help but laugh at how fake the CGI looked.
trypophobia sucks
Netflix: Are you still watching?
Meanwhile: 19:36
Unfunny overused joke
@@Nsodnoajdjksl yea
Here's an idea for the next one - create a render of someone driving whilst picking their nose, when suddenly they have an accident - we go slow-mo as the airbag deploys and hits their arm, forcing their finger deep up into their nose - so deep that it pops their eyeball out and the tip of the finger protrudes from the eye-socket.
8:20 there's absolutely no excuse for a 17" laptop to NOT have a full size keyboard. That legit pisses me off.
I kinda decided then it wasn't what I liked or wasn't for me and never looked back. So I'm very sure there have been changes made and loyal users that wanted better keyboards have surely let that be known. I have been frustrated with many manufacturers choices as well , I feel like the generation before us that complained about tech taking over and changing everything they were familiar with around the late nineties early 00's. Lol things are too good and tech is so advanced we find dumb shit to complain about. Cheers
God I want a wholesome render challenge after this..
i'm thinking you should do a chalange like "The most distressing Rednders"
You should try the most GORY render challenge, it would be so funny what peter would produce
I agree, but there’s no way they could air it on RUclips.
16:49 "put him back in"
I think working in A&E seeing actual gory injuries for the last few years has completely desensitized me to this sort of thing, funny to see y'all heaving over them though 😅
I would love to see a render challenge where the sound design is the most important element. i.e the grossest sound/most satisfying sound challenge paired with a render. Love these challenges please keep doing them!!!
Maybe like andrew huang, they all get the same *weird* sound and have to come up with renders matching them
"I'm never eating clam chowder again" he says, as the spoonful of broccoli cheddar is 2 inches from my mouth.
Thanks for that one, guys.
