      IMO, slow camera panning like this in videos without 60 fps, always ruins it a bit, and even without that I feel like the whole thing was too blurry for me to properly appreciate the details. I feel bad about saying it, but for me personally it wasn't satisfying to watch at all :/

    First one that stood out is obviously, loosing stuff like the beans or the water is not very satisfying but rather the opposite.
    Camera wobble was really distracting and actually made me a bit motion sick watching (also a bit too much going on at once).
    The sound design was overall decent but there could've been more ambience considering it was such a big space with lots of stuff happening, maybe even some reverb.
    Besides that I love how creative the space is, all the small elements and hidden little things are super fun to look at.

    Beautifully conceived and executed CGI Rube Goldberg contraption, though there are two minor problems. The first is that a good build strives not to waste elements, so you wouldn't have beans lost or water sloshing out. The second is that, though it was exceptionally clear to see, it was still a minor bit confusing as to what was happening due to the camera wobbling about and not more centered on the element in play that is moving from one point to the next. There's so much to see going on around the particular spot that is moving forward that you get too distracted and miss the point of following the beans from beginning to end. Still, awesome creation. Loved it.

      @noaburr 2 года назад +29

      I feel like they really struggle with the concept of satisfying. They go so hard on creating something *technically* great that the end product loses most of the core tenants of satisfaction. IMO a satisfying render would be clean, smooth, and easy to follow. Rough 3D scans, junk everywhere, jerky motion and a hard to follow camera for me makes this more like a portfolio of various skills the crew have than a cohesive project with a clear goal in mind.
      I don't want to shit on the end product because the process is super enjoyable to watch, just wish they'd go all in on one end of the spectrum and succeed, rather than trying to squeeze in so many competing elements that just cancel each other out and hurt the final result. Everything is very impressive individually but together it turns to mush.

      This world is rapidly passing away and I hope that you repent and take time to change before all out disaster occurs! Belief in messiah alone is not enough to grant you salvation - Matthew 7:21-23, John 3:3, John 3:36 (ESV is the best translation for John 3:36) if you believed in Messiah you would be following His commands as best as you could. If you are not a follower of Messiah I would highly recommend becoming one. Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life - Revelation 3:20.
      Contemplate how the Roman Empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13. Revelation 17 confirms that it is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years going back to Babylon and before, C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate once you start a relationship with God.
      Can't get a response from God? Fasting can help increase your perception and prayer can help initiate events. God will ignore you if your prayer does not align with His purpose (James 4:3) or if you are approaching Him when "unclean" (Isaiah 1:15, Isaiah 59:2, Micah 3:4). Stop eating food sacrificed to idols (McDonald's, Wendy's etc) stop glorifying yourself on social media or making other images of yourself (Second Commandment), stop gossiping about other people, stop watching obscene content etc. Have a blessed day!

    If anyone was curious how photogrammetry and programs like Polycam are used outside of an artistic setting, archaeologists actually use them! We use programs like this to make photo-realistic renders of artifacts, features, archaeological sites, etc. because it's easier and safer to have a 3d model than it is to physically move something that may be thousands of years old, or that shouldn't be disturbed (i.e. a set of human remains). It's ridiculously cool technology that can be used for a whole mess of really cool things even beyond the art world!
