Nice intake, I had one one my 16 GTI. I also opened/dremeled out the grill, just under the cover where the last two slots are on the driver side of the grill. It feeds the air directly to the filter. I never had a problem with rain or snow. there should be a drainage hole on the bottom of the unit. It makes a little difference, but when the weather is chilly like now, you'll feel it. When I went IS38, that IE and the grill opening made a difference.
Just ordered the entire setup with the IE carbon lid also, & got a mail its coming here into Sweden soon! 👍 The waiting game has been abit rough but was because a huge order here to Sweden to the company im ordering from.
How’s the tune holding up? Just got an IE stage 1 and the power is real fun but I’m getting a bit of turbo flutter (which I had before the tune) and I’ve noticed you do too in your videos. Turbo/engine still fine?
IE says thats completely normal and fine. i tuned my golf r and i also got turbo flutter and they said they tested it and the stock diverter valve is fine and you shouldn't have any problems
Does anybody know the actual performance numbers for closed vs open? Is it truly that big of a gap between the 2? If it is pretty close how can anyone not opt for the open. It sounds quite elegant
hey Pete, does the air channel on your IE intake ever pop up past the front plastic air guide that's built into the car? Due to engine movement, I'm constantly having to push the IE air channel down due to it popping up after a drive
If you want something extremely grippy id vote for the Goodyear F1 Eagle Supersport's im using on my GTI Clubsport! They are even grippier than the Michelin 4S they say. But i suppose the Michelins are the best allrounders, though a good bit pricyer.
I also went with the IE v2 and I’m very glad I did.. for the price, performance and noise you get out of it
Unbeatable

Isn’t that felt for sound deadening but more importantly to stop your paint from getting ruined?
I have an IE intake on my car and have been blown away by the quality for the price

About the Apr PEX: it works with the oem modified front area so similar to these types.
Did you ever install the OEM check valve into the IE coolant line replacement? Any low coolant issues if you didn’t?
Had for 3is years and never did. I did however get the mishimoto coolant reroute hose tho last year for peace of mind.
Always appreciate the R vids 🔥

I saw a racing line with a tune adds 5bhp compared to the stock intake with a tune. So its not really that much
I've done day to day swaps between open and oem modified and haven't noticed much
stock tune david?
Nice, sounds 👌! What happened to the black out vw emblems? Welcome back man
Can another inlet work with IE intake
Hey bro. You have the valved Remus CBE right? Do you already have a video about the closed vs open sound with POV/mic from the cabin?
Hey Pete! Do you prefer the Golf R or the GTI? I’m interested in getting a GTI I have always loved them! But do you prefer the R or GTI?
The gti is a fun capable car. My thing is. If it rains a lot where you live. You’ll regret not getting the r
@@Frisky_Panda Yeah the AWD is amazing in rain/snow-- you have full confidence.
Reminds me of my Dad Snoring. Good Review

do you have a turbo muffler delete?
sick
Stock diverter valve?
Hey Pete, what tyres do you use/recommend on your car?

I was looking at the same inlet and intake for my vw atlas. It has the same 2.0 tsi. I’ve heard lots of good things about them.
Why dont you use the intake cover?
He says that it reduces the turbo noise. Cover doesn't really add performance since it's not fully closed. More just for decorating the engine bay.
@@deltawhiskey6417 and it’s expensive af.
@@deej628 i didnt realise you could buy the lower without the upper cover.
@@BrotherRobbthat’s the heat shield which comes with it regardless
Hey Pete, did you wind up installing the check valve in the coolant line?
If you worried about it Mishimoto MQB coolant reroute hose has a check valve in it. I grabbed one for about $25
How do you compare this with the MST kit?
