Little cordless dremel comes in clutch for taking off the single use FU clamps...especially the ones in tight spaces...I also like to use silicone hoses with flowable silicone around the inside of the joint before adding 2 worm clamps wherever each FU clamp used to be. It's overkill but not particularly expensive and I hate doing things more than once.
good info.
thanks
Right, those clamps are the most im facing one now, 08 535i. Great presentation
Someone please make a 335i water pump relocation kit.😢
What a living hell it is on the AWD models. Use an examination camera to see the leaks.
The fact they didnt use regular hose clamps on that one pisses me off.
Where is the conclusion video with the actual repair?
I have this problem with my e70 x5. I was able to remove the elbow. I put it back in with new clamps and it is leaking just a little bit. did you use dual clamps? I am thinking to do that, problem is its just hard to access it.
I completely understand how much of a bitch it is to work on these n54 cars. Bmw cut alot of corners on the little details that make it simpler to service various parts and it's just sad that they would do that considering how much these cars cost.
Really enjoy it. Let's check Avasva plans also
Nathan, my e46 will leak coolant after I drive the car and shut it off. I changed the water pump gasket and thermostat gasket
Does it leak from the water pump area, and did you only change the gasket or the whole pump?
Nathan's DIY Garage I only changed the gasket, and after looking at it. It's leaking from the thermostats. I also applied gasket sealer.
i would do a new thermostat and water pump, they are cheap off ebay
Nathan's DIY Garage ok thanks will do
The profits from selling cars is rather low. The only way to make money is from designing it so that it will discourage DIY and small garages from working on them. They got some tricks up their sleeve so that outside a dealer, a small workshop is guarenteed to mess up.
"Lifetime" translates to the average life an owner might own the car, which is an average 60 month loan term. Or the average lifetime mileage of a 60 month loan at 10k per year is 50k-60k miles. Any european car bought used at roughly 5 years of age should have ALL fluids changed or if you plan on keeping the car for "your lifetime of the car", again, change those fluids!!
Designed to keep dealer mechanics in business.
BMW doesnt want any car to reach 80k.What a POS
