At Story Laboratory, story is king above all movie things. Кино
That stick scene was by far the most emotionally well done scene.
As well as the dream and reuniting ending scenes.
This movie tears me up every time in multiple scenes, its absolutly beautyfull, even though i dont like the dinosaur design, i loved the story and the world its set in
I agree. Its such a good story. It felt very real.
I love the good dinosaur😭😭😭😭
Saw this a few days ago. I never had an interest in the movie
, which is mainly because of the low rating it recieved compared to the other "big" Pixar movies and the general disinterest in the film, which made it the lowest grossing film in Pixar history. But after I saw it I was really really suprised how great it was. The animation was incredible, the story was interesting and these sad moments really shook me to a level that not even UP could manage. I watched every Pixar movie (except for Cars 2 & 3) and can easily say that The good dinosaur is my absolut favourite of them all. Thank you for defending this film and for giving an interesting look at the story (to be honest: These Pterodactyls seemd like real world drug addicts to me.) . You did a great job.
Thanks so much for your comment! The emotional tentpole moments in the film really hit me on a personal level too, and it's always great to hear from someone else who felt the same way about this movie! If you enjoyed the first Cars film, I'd recommend checking out Cars 3 - it's definitely much more of a spiritual successor to the first film than the second film (which you can definitely afford to skip indefinitely, lol). Thank you!
Cars 2 Sucks It have way lower rotten tomatoes, Spy Cliches 💩
Since you guys were respecting the good Dinosaur for being underrated, I was hoping you would say the same about Cars 2. I guess not :(. That movie was an underrated masterpiece.
@@dillydawson i thought cars 2 wasn't half bad. i have the movie. the good dinosaur is my favorite movie just because its cute, and has a good meaning.
Inside excepting sadness. Good Dinosaur accepting Fear.
When I went to go see the good dinosaur I loved every bit of it even my dad liked it and I strongly agree that its Simplicity is what makes it stronger. It's definitely more underrated than Treasure Planet.
I agree in full on everything! Among the many reasons, it is also underrated because almost everyone expects from the Pixar of the stories "super original", without maybe giving the same value to a more classic, simple, emotional and more relational stories (many or snubbing them regardless of whether for them a story isn't original, then it isn't even beautiful, but rather it is all obvious, and/or they're afraid, because they know that these kinds of stories are the most moving and relational, and that they can recall moments that they wouldn't want to remember), which has nothing to envy, however, to the most particular stories, because we know, it doesn't count only the originality, or only the story, or just as it puts on stage the whole, or just the characters, or just the music, or just the direction, or just the screenplay, or just the emotions that the movie sends, etc etc, but it counts EVERYTHING in a movie! As it also counts not only the story itself, but also HOW you tell it! And I also think that in a movie we should always relate, otherwise for me the enjoyment is half 😉 I love The Good Dinosaur so much, I love this kind of stories, I have to see it again soon (and I will cry, of course, but I don't have problems, I like to do it in movies, it's an outlet for me) 💖 Anyway, what do you think of Coco? Because I find it a very underrated movie for a myriad of nonsense reasons for me (although it is quite popular, if you read comments, reviews, watch videos, etc, you see that it is), and I find it simply the best Pixar ever (and it's also my favorite movie ever, I love it to madness) 💖
Another reason this movie bombed is because of angry parents. The majority of the marketing made it seem like The Good Dinosaur was gonna be some fun-filled romp or something. I mean, the trailers were alright, but the tv spots suck so bad, especially with that fucking Wild Life song playing in there. And the fact that the movie is PG and not PG-13. I honestly think the movie should've been PG-13 instead of PG, that way the parents would be a little more forgiving to the movie. But, the movie, to this day, continues to get shat on because it's "violent". It's basically Watership Down all over again, which is another film that gets shat on for the same reason.
Gregg Lee I completely agree.
Alex F The Good Dinosaur actually reminds me a lot of Watership Down in terms of the writing, the tone, how the story plays out, etc. Not to mention that they also get a lot of hate for the same reason, because they're both "violent". Those haters are the same people who praise the shit out of garbage like Despicable Me, Boss Baby, The Loud House, etc. It's really sad that people can't recognize what good quality actually is.
TGD is the first movie I watched in the big screen. And I'm happy it received that title in me, because it's a very memorable movie. It gives me the strengths I value today, and easily brings me tears, even if its taken out of context. It doesn't deserve the criticism, because considering its genre and style, it is a masterpiece.
wow I love this movie and your channel . Why is your channel so ,,underrated'' why do you only have few subscribers ?
Hi Robert, and thank you! Glad to hear you're enjoying the content! Building an audience on RUclips takes a lot of hard work, but I love animation and storytelling so much that I would continue making these videos even if there were only a few people watching. :) If you know anyone who would enjoy these videos, feel free to share it with them as well!
I was never able to watch it when it was in theatres and finally saw it on Disney+. It is amazing I love it it made me sad and the story was good.
I feel like I was the only one who saw this movie in theaters.
I watched this back in 2016 when it was on netflix here in denmark, and i actually liked it too, very decent pixar film that deserves more positive views.
At Least it Better Than Cars 2
Your channel is underrated.
You deserve way more subscribers
This has been my favorite Pixar movie since I watched it in theaters a few days after it's release.
These high quality videos are awesome!! I have a feeling that you'll go big soon. Keep up the incredible work!
Capri Phonix, thank you so much!! I truly appreciate your comment and encouragement. So glad you're enjoying the content!
this is my favourite pixar movie actually (tied with Brave, maybe you could do a video on why that on isn't so bad? If you have the same opinion that is)
Brave was very good IMO.
I'm not sure why it gets hated on. It even won the Best Animated Film Oscar.
Brave was ok, in my opinion. I think it wasn't very successful because of how their plot tied with bears so much.
Love your analysis and this movie! It Brings a unique atmosphere with the more silent moments and that is why i love it Very much
I love the Good Dinosaur, it pisses me off that Inside Out became more popular
I absolutely love the a cappella stuff!
Haha, thanks man!!
Beautiful movie, and one of my favourite Pixar films.
Critics..
The Quest. The Hero's Journey.
Thank you for this video. It is helpful.
This video is underrated!! I love this movie
Haven't seen this movie yet, but now I think I need to add it to my Watch List. Great job, yet again! Keep it up.
Maynard, definitely worth checking out! It's got a different Pixar flavor, but I think it's really good that they're venturing out and embracing something different.
I'll check it out sometime :)
amazing analysis!!
Thank you very much, Emanuel! Did you enjoy "The Good Dinosaur"?
can you make a video about the Pixar theory I know it will be hard tho
Believe it or not, I've been planning to do a video about the Pixar theory sometime soon! I actually have some pretty strong feelings about it. Thanks for the suggestion! How do you feel about the theory?
Story Laboratory thank you for considering my suggestion I think it is a pretty amzing/interesting. it is pretty hard to understand it sometimes though
Absolutely! It's definitely an interesting and poses a lot of questions. Do you have a favorite Pixar movie?
Story Laboratory hard to chose they are all amazing but if I had to chose it would ratatouile wall-e inside out and the classic ....toy story
Agreed, super hard to choose, but I LOVE your choices! Toy Story is my personal favorite, but each of the films you listed is great in its own way. I find it interesting that each of your picks was led by a different Pixar director! Brad Bird, Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter, and John Lasseter.
The good dinosaur is still better than mars needs moms.
Good movie im not a big fan of spot tho
The good dinosaur: The most underrated Disney movie ever
Dinosaur (2000): am i a joke
I think a bugs life is the most underated Pixar film
I think now it’s Onward
The Good Dinosaur wasn't too bad. It did have a great message of pushing yourself to be better than you think you can be, but there are (currently) only 22 Pixar movies total! I would say that all of the Pixar movies are masterpieces, so you can't really rank them without somebody getting mad at you for putting a certain movie so low. The Good Dinosaur wasn't too bad, but ,sadly, I would put it as the worst of all the Pixar masterpieces.
Actually Brave is
Meh. The good Dinosaur was less of a movie and more like a showcase of CG environments. I'm still convinced the fluid dynamics is the big bad. I'll watch anything animated but the Good Dinosaur was poorly written imho. The "cattle thieves" are literally just the "storm provides" guys. Meaningless distractions and a few cheap laughs. I was quite relieved to hear it under-performed because it really felt like a bland experience dressed up in the latest CG plugins.
