    Iron Giant is a masterpiece. He overcome hes own evil nature into goodness and self conscience, sacrificed himself to save a city and if you think clearly, the world. The US government would probably blame USSR for the nuclear detonation, which would bring an full scale nuclear war.

    It is my personal beleif that, with robots, sacrifice is only natural. They are not bound by the same laws as ours. They can repair themselves or even just transfer all their data elsewhere. If their body is destroyed, yet their data is saved, the machine will not lose anything. Robots should have it in their code to sacrifice themselves, since death is almost an imposibility to them.

      Interesting point! I think it depends on their programming. For example, I would agree that sacrifice came naturally to Baymax since he was programmed as a machine that tends to the needs of others. However, the Iron Giant was programmed to destroy life instead of to preserve it; that's part of what makes his choice to sacrifice his life more meaningful, since he acts against his programming to save others, whereas Baymax's sacrifice is in line with his programming. Thanks for the great comment!

      santi nyczka the iron giant didn't know he'd survive, he had been told that when something dies its dead but their souls will live on. he sacrificed himself without rhinking of survival while baymax made sure he'd survive in a sense. iron giant is a better sacrifice scene (especially because of the sub-par voice acting of big hero 6 and the above average voice acting in iron giant).

      Well, it's fiction so it doesn't matter what you believe, the writer can write robots however they want. Quite frankly, your robot ideas sound boring.

    There is different meanings in both movies iron giant: You are who you choose to be. Big hero 6: letting it go

    I love how both films also showcase the robots becoming more human as they progress! Like how the Iron Giant learns from Hogarth and mimics his body language whereas Baymax learns more about human emotions ^^

    Baymax saved Hiro and Callahan's daughter from being stuck in a portal dimension. The Iron Giant saved a town and it's people from getting blown up .

      Good observation! The stakes feel higher in "The Iron Giant," don't they? I think that's a big part of what makes the viewer more invested in what's happening.

      Lil Lord Akira 97 The Iron Giant saved more than the town's population. He collided with an nuclear SLBM. The blast would have killed a few thousands of people within the blast radius.

      Kevin Sosa it had to launch off of him, though he could have held on since the thing had rockets on it so it didn't actually need to launch off of him for momentum.

    Wait what did baymax ever sacrifice he didn't do shit the iron giant saved a town mabye more from a nuke by sacrificing his life I mean come on

    • @StoryLaboratory
      @StoryLaboratory  7 лет назад +1

      At the end of Big Hero 6, Baymax launches Hiro out of the portal, saving the boy but willingly remaining behind. So he did make a choice that embodied a sacrifice of his own "life," but you're right, the Giant's sacrifice saved a lot of people and his choice holds more weight. That's what I talk about at the end of this video and I agree completely. :) Thanks for watching and participating in the conversation!

      Story Laboratory thank you for replying and I appreciate how you think the same as me and I just watched a clip of baymax saving Hiro and that woman and couldn't Hiro just grab baymax's other hand and take them all away nevertheless it's still a good movie

    • @StoryLaboratory
      @StoryLaboratory  7 лет назад +1

      Yeah, it's interesting to think about alternate scenarios - maybe you're right! One thing I love about the end of The Iron Giant is that the Giant realizes that there's really no other option, and either everyone in the town will perish in the explosion, or he will parish at their expense. The threat of the incoming nuke is very much based in our reality, whereas the portal situation in Big Hero 6 seems a little removed from our reality.

    Iron Giant was THE original BIGGER HERO as he chose to be "Superman" by going head on into eternity to saved the town, Baymax just fell into death. lame heroics!
