  • DWC outdoors is a gamechanger! All these years I've been growing hydroponically indoors, but its no comparison to the outdoor environment. This is an update from my previous Vevor DWC video where I unboxed and set up the initial grow. As you can see, I'm reaping the fruits of my labor. Below is the Amazon link to the Vevor bucket system.

I suspect a review of those sun shade/sails will be coming soon. Smart move putting some plants outside as well 👍

Thanks gth042! I wish we had a longer growing season, but I'm happy....and so are the tomatoes!

Subscriber that loves your videos and have watched many of them numerous times. Please do one explaining how you setup your indoor grow tent area. It looks like a diy tent I believe.

Hello dottielynch, I've been using Mylar foil blankets to wrap around the shelves, that's it. It helps to reflect the light. I used to have an actual tent, but I like having the plants breathing with me, so wrapping the foil around 3 sides gives me all I need. This way I can see them without unzipping. If you are growing smelly stuff like some other hydroponic growers, you might want to close it off into a tent and have a fan for ventilation. Or if you don't want people to know what you are growing, the tent is helpful. But I grow mostly good smelling stuff, veggies, and no reason to close it off in a tent. Hope that helps!

Thank you for your video's - very helpful - I bought the 8 bucket Vevor DWC system and have it all set up with tomatoes and bell peppers following your video! How often do you change the water in the buckets? What nutrients are you adding to the buckets? A video on the bucket maintenance would be great! Thanks!

Thanks Genevieve! I've been feeding them Burpee Organic Tomato and Vegetable plant food and they seem to be very happy. I just harvested some eggplant and zucchini, and lots of cherry tomatoes! Here's an Amazon link to the food of you can type in the Amazon search bar amzn.to/43ykIuL
      Thanks for the comment!

I've had good luck vacuum sealing foods with seasoning and using the storage/freezing time as a marinade. Even tofu gets "infused" with flavor (and often crushed, different story). I wonder if seasoned, chopped, vac-ed, and frozen tomatoes would make an easy precursor to a sauce or chili. (If I ate tomatoes, I'd know for sure.) Neighbor relations is important too 😃

Tikki would you consider doing a video on how you setup your grow area when you first started? From the videos I’ve seen (tiny Tim tomatoes) it appears you used a diy tent.

I live around the same area/zone, how do you keep the levels of nutrients, out often you top them off and when it rain does it mess up or over flow with rain water? Great videos !!

I too have tomatoes growing outside both hydroponics in 5 gallon Kratky and also in soil. All are doing well. But here in Eastern PA it’s been low 90’s for most of July and late June. I need to top off my nutrients every 2 days. How often do you need to add to your DWC buckets? Thank You.

Hello cruikshank, we have had rain almost every day and I think some of that rain is getting into the buckets, it has to be...the plants are not drowning, but enough rain gets in. I've topped off the buckets maybe once a week or so. BUT there was one week that was very hot and no rain, and that week I did have to top off every other day, just like you. Good luck with you grow, and thanks for the comment!
