This is the best Timney Alpha trigger installation video! No words, no annoying ads. Everything is brief, detailed, and clear. Close-up shots. Unmatched! I bow to you.
OYUT your instructional video on how to install the Timney Alpha Glock GEN-5 trigger is outstanding. Best most absolutely clear step by step demonstration on youtube. Especially the part where you took your time showing how to put in the spring, slide lock lever... Super helpful! You made it easy and crystal clear. Your video is 1000x better than the ones Timney themselves put out, theirs's were confusing and did not have necessary detail where needed, plus they didn't even cover how to do a GEN-5. Thank you!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for this video. The smallest step at the 5:13 mark made all the diff, I had taken the glock 17, gen 5 apart to change the slide stop and could not put it back together. Without pushing that spring down so it's under the locking block you can't pull the trigger and you can't rack the slide. To be clear I had someone change the trigger for me almost 2 years ago so I wasn't familiar with messing with this trigger, I thought it was simple, to change the slide stop, but I wasn't putting it back correctly because of the spring, until I saw what you did at the 5:13 mark. Again thanks for this video, I had been working on this for at least 3 hours.
You sir should get some sort of award from this install video. I just installed my trigger just now and it seems to work better with the same spring on my Glock 17 gen 5. Reset is clearly better on my gun now. Adjusted the takeup from the triggers screw a little bit but i don´t think that could effect the reset. My gen 5 Glock in new too and that might be the case too. Anyway the trigger is way better that i espect it to be. Well the prize in Finland is 250 euros but it sure was worth it!
FYI Just installed mine have not shot it yet, I did notice that this new trigger has a hole made for the spring, looks like an upgrade I was having a hard time getting my spring to seat until I noticed.
Had to look elsewhere for the trigger spring removal and double-check the positioning for the L-shaped spring, but it went in fine first try. *Can't wait for the range* *Hopes for no light strikes*
That is a great video!! I looked at the one on the Timney website (which really sucked as it is for a gen 4 and not gen 5), and I could not figure out what I was doing wrong. Well, I was doing it wrong because of their video. Thank you so much. Your video provides the exact step by step instruction.
I see you used the silver spring that was supplied vs the red. Have you had any issues with the trigger while shooting like bad trigger reset or light strikes. Any input from your experience would be appreciated. Thanks.
Dude I think the people installing are the problem. Just purchased the Midway Black Timney. And it’s Unbelievably good. Like I’ve never felt a Glock trigger this nice.
@vietnamtactical2088 I couldn't get it to then no. I've since dismantled and reassembled it deliberately going very slow through the process, now I have to pull the trigger clear into the back of the trigger guard for it to actually "drop the hammer" but I have yet to actually fire it. The factory glock trigger is more responsive than this
Anyone have issues with the trigger not resetting? I’ve cleaned the shit out it, it sticks every time at this point, dry firing and live firing, maybe I have a club finger? Idk, I’m about to buy something else
I know of one, an expert gunsmith couldn't figure out how to get it to work. They tried to remove material from the side of the frame assuming it was dragging there etc. but it didn't help.
Mine was doing this. This is happening because your connector is sticking out too far when seated into the trigger housing and as a result causes too much friction. The fix is to remove connector and bend just a little so it sits closer to the housing and upon reassembly make sure you use the red spring. Your trigger reset should be sharp and responsive!
Is there a chance of the Timney alpha competition for glock 19 gen 5, to disarm the firing pin due to a drop from a chest height? Once this trigger makes the gun to get full coked (I mean 100% of the firing on the set ready strike position)... This situation wouldnt cause a incidental shot, because of the safety plunger pin, but it would set the gun not ready for fire... even with the ammo set on the chamber... Has anyone done this test?
@@oyut_shooter plenty of data out there to show them being subpar at best. From the almost immediate power loss, customers receiving lights with connections unsoldered, randomly turning on and burning customers despite being "locked", not working at all straight out of the package, and they've exploded to boot. It's hard to justify Olight when a Streamlight TLR-1 really isn't that much more expensive and is a better product.
O light mini 2 is nice idc what anyone says. Y’all make assumptions on products you’ve never even tried or if you did I highly doubt have those issues. Think for yourselves. Same with high points. Have you ever owned one? Nope most haven’t but I bet you’ll say they are trash without trying it. Like anything in the world there’s a thing called quality control or QC issues. The majority of o lights are perfectly fine my guy.
@andybars8672 I've personally seen them cone from the factory with connections soldered backwards or not connected at all. Watched one burn a hole in my buddy's pocket despite being "locked out" and turned off, and luckily he wasn't severely burned. He no longer uses them thankfully. Olight is garbage across the board.
Olights are horrible gotta streamlight for my 19, Timney trigger, kagerworks slide release, aftermarket mag well, plus 3 extensions for both my mags. Next thing I’m gonna get is night sights and a streamlight light for it not sure which one yet
i think the moral of that story is: if you aren’t familiar enough with the glock trigger to work through this install without it: you should either pay someone or get more familiar. it would go against youtube’s community standards if he gad said anything.

Ty bro
Agreed. I'm in as well.
I totally agree!!!

Timney should hire you to make their videos. Trigger is awesome!
Appreciate the step thru installation...
perfect. thank you, brother. much appreciated 👍🏻
merry christmas 2024 to you and your family.

Nice video I love no music
I wonder how much we pay for the $#!t additional paperwork that we dis-guard?
Isn’t there a spring that has to ride that groove on the frame pin?
I see you used the silver spring that was supplied vs the red. Have you had any issues with the trigger while shooting like bad trigger reset or light strikes. Any input from your experience would be appreciated. Thanks.
Great vid, thank you
What is your long term experience with it? Were there any maulfunction? Or is it reliable?
Very nice video.
Thank you Sir.
Thanks for the help
What kind of holster on your battle belt?
Good video, thanks!
So my question is , why they send 2 trigger springs? I used the red spring whats the difference?
Idk if you got this answered or not but it’s if you fucked with the striker, if you have stock everything use the grey one, red is for altered striker
that reset didn't look smooth at all...hmmmm, i never had an issue with my glock triggers so i'm not convinced it's worth the money for an upgrade.
Wonderful Video
How are you satisfied with it? I see and hear a lot of negative stuff about Timney Glock triggers.
Dude I think the people installing are the problem. Just purchased the Midway Black Timney. And it’s Unbelievably good. Like I’ve never felt a Glock trigger this nice.
I am pretty sure people have porked something on install. But with this video it is literally impossible to do so anymore :D
It is top notch not having problems with reset.
Can you put gen 5 trigger in glock gen 4?
Fantastic
Nicely done, however, I am confused. You bought a whole new trigger group and used parts from the original, or did I blonk
No you are correct the trigger group uses stock Glock parts along with it
followed step by step but after reassemble I have a dead trigger
Wont set off the hammer at all even after charging it?
@vietnamtactical2088 I couldn't get it to then no. How about you clearly show the removal of the parts from the rear of the trigger
Excellent!

I had high hopes until I saw the olight
