I really enjoyed the Razor Crest as a plot and comedic device. It also had that cool cross between a gunship, a semi truck, and an RV in space, like The Falcon, that made I'd fun and cool. I was sad when it was finally destroyed.

The Millenium Falcon set the precedent for heroes to use older, heavily modified ships and as a gamer in the old WEG D6 tabletop game, I lived for that! My characters were often as much mechanic as pilot, and I tweaked junk heaps into some truly heroic moves. Of course, then I'd spend a week cussing it as I tried to figure out what had blown during our last escape, but it was all fun! :) RIP Razorcrest, you were a character in your own right and we miss you! My .02 credits.

you'd be surprised what a lemon car can survive when all you want is for it to be damaged beyond repair, when driven by a guy who stubbornly keeps it running with hose clamps, duct tape, and double bubble... so i can believe the Razor Crest just refusing to be destroyed just out of some kind of spite

I like to think of Din's Razor Crest and new N1 fighter as the equivalents of an RV and F1 racecar, respectively. The Crest/RV you can actually live in, while still being mobile enough to get around. Whereas the N1/Formula1 has basically only one utility: raw speed. You can't live or raise kids in a racecar, so I kinda hope Din upgrades to another gunship/light freighter one day

Why did the Razorcrest survive so long? Because it is so old. Most people wouldn't consider that a Mando would think of piloting it, so the Mando was able to land without anyone thinking it would be the cause of any trouble. This will give the Mando the ability to catch his prey unguarded.
    But this is my opinion.

I just didn't know the Razer Crest was that old, sure it looked pretty worn out in the Mandalroian, but any ship would start looking that way after just a few skirmishes and this is the Star Wars Universe so a few skirmishes happen every couple of weeks, it doesn't take long for a ship to no longer be shiny and new in this universe. so that's not a give away to age.

The razercrest is like owning a rusted out 350 K5 Blazer nowadays, like the one I had using for work up in Spokane. Just slightly maintain it and it'll never die until the body gives out completely. I liked it for what it was, until his new N1. The N1 has always been the favorite of mine, starfighter wise, and with my age and love of hot rods, his new N1 became my favorite ship in the entire Star Wars franchise. The designer and writer that came up with the modified N1 knew what the franchise needed for car guys like me. Checks all the boxes for me. To me, his N1 is like a procharged LS7 Miata. Insane power, very touchy and maintenance intensive (due to how rare N1 parts are from the lore).😅

I honestly thought it was just an old durable ship that took a beating and kept on flying. Never knew it was supposed to be “janky.” Figured it was like an older ford bronco that just doesn’t die no matter how many accidents you put it through. The N-1 on the other hand looks more like a Mad Max Muscle car.

Coming from a Trekkie, the Razor Crest was a nice compact and versatile craft on-par with the Delta Flyer and Danube-class runabouts as they were largely meant for a single goal but were able to be multi-role without making the users/crews having a chance to stretch their legs instead of being stuck sitting behind a console.
Comparing the ST-70 Razor Crest to the YT-1300 Millenium Falcon, she has two advantages over the Falcon; smaller and better able to slip past security grids, & she's faster and more maneuverable in a dogfight so she can take a beating and keep running

It really is a testament to Din Jarin's ability as a Spacer that that thing stayed alive as long as it did. He's clearly an expert pilot and mechanic/engineer. I've known people who had beater trucks like that - held together by duck tape, bailing wires and luck. I would say prayers instead of luck, but God/The Force would have... Well, it did, come to think of it... Destroyed it as soon as possible and granted him something at least half way decent. A few of them actually loved the ragged things, like Solo and Lando felt about the Falcon, but most were as glad as they were sad at seeing the rolling scrap heap off to the junkyard. Din was pretty crestfallen when RC finally died, but he clearly wasn't TOO broken up about it.
Also, IRL, it is ASTOUNDING how long some second-rate junkers will keep going. Some vehicles earn the moniker Zombie Truck/Car because they JUST. WON'T. DIE! Top Gear tried destroying an old Toyota truck and failed. They drove it through a "house"(a shed built to house specifications), smashed it in the engine with a wrecking ball, lit it on fire, drowned it in the ocean, and at least one more thing that I can't remember. They thought they finally killed it after the attempted drowning, but in under an hour, with a few wrenches, a hammer and a basic roadside kit everyone should really have in their vehicle anyway, it came back to life with a jumpstart. The Razorcrest and Falcon are so unrealistic in their survival that they swing right around to being realistic.
