    This was when the Republic started using any tactics necessary to win the war. Even if it meant innocent people got hurt or worse. It foreshadowed how the Republic was one step closer to becoming an Empire.

    One thing I like about the lore of the Clone Wars that isnt talked about much is that the Clone Army fought more than just droids. A good portion of the CIS forces were loyalist militias that wreaked havoc through guerilla engagements on the Clone Battalions laying siege to their planets, rightfully so may I add. It kinda goes to show you that there isn't a clear line of Good Guy | Bad Guy in war. Especially in a universe as expansive as Star Wars.

    I bet Palpatine could speed up or slow down the war as needed, to better align events with Anakin’s fall and to make sure everything was ready for Empire day. Leak some tactical information to one side… order some new big invasion, etc. and generally make sure all the pieces were in place so in the end all the political power and legal authority was firmly in his grasp and Anakin’s distrust and frustration with the Jedi was running high. You can imagine Sidious constantly adapting the details of his grand plan, to best suit his needs and goals throughout the war. It’s like in the Obi Wan undercover arc in the clone wars show, after setting up tests for Anakin, Palpatine can see he is not yet ready to turn to the dark side at that time, but by the time of the outer rim sieges, everything is falling into place.

    "It's been said that the 501st got the best of the war. We also got the worst. On Felucia, the Seps dug their metal heels into the muck of that alien hellhole and dared the Republic to come in after them. So we did, only to be met with the month after month of flesh-eating diseases, shrieking nocturnal predators, and other sights that haunt me to this day. Cut off and for all we knew abandoned by our superiors, our only hope was Aayla Secura, our Jedi commander. Without her iron will, none of us would have come out of that mess with our sanity, or our lives. When her death came, I hope it was quick. She earned that much. When the 501st was finally rotated out of Felucia, Aayla Secura made a point of seeing us off personally, calling us the bravest soldiers she had ever seen. It's a good thing we were wearing helmets, because none of us could bear to look her in the eye."

      Incredibly hard, assuming weapons and armor are roughly equalized. The invading party would most likely not know the terrain, or at least very well. Neither party would know the creative tactics each are capable of, yet. The invading party would have to fight through the planetary armed forces as well as any cells that would attack them they weren't aware of. Element of surprise is everything. Once that's broken, violence of action all the way. Keys to taking a position, assuming element of surprise is gone, is deception and misdirection.

      Well, all these planets likely have maps on their general terrain and continents. The surface can also be seen by the fleets above the atmospheres as well, so, surely we could see some improvements on our own abilities to map in the past.
      But, on a Galactic scale, you'd see planets fall after taking key major cities on each continent. Not as grueling as it has been in our world in the past.

      This video is wrong because Star Wars: Rebels says that the Separatist military vastly outnumbered the Republic military at the end of the Clone war. That the CIS only lost because of the Droid shut down command.
      It also doesn't make sense the Republic had a bigger industry because droids can help build ships and other weapons 24/7. Droid factories operate 24/7. Droids don't need food, sleep, or rest. Just electrical power. So of course the Separatists had better industrial might than the Republic.

    Tbh, I'm unsure about the claim that the CIS was really losing during the Outer Rim Sieges. Grievous believed that a separatist victory was possible, even after Coruscant. And he was no fool. The CIS lost around 5% of their entire strength in the Battle of Coruscant. Devastating in absolute numbers, but acceptable in comparison.
    Even the death of Count Dooku wasn't as fatal as it first appeared. The CIS truly died with General Grievous. If he had survived, the war would've continued. And considering that he would have undoubtedly unleashed all the reserves Sidious and Dooku kept behind the front lines for years, it's even possible that he could have destroyed the Empire within months. Especially if he arrived on Kashyyyk after Utapau and captured the planet and these secret hyperspace routes.

      Having a 3 million number for the clones makes a little more sense in a harder sci-fi universe where entire planets only have a few cities or places of interest to fight over. As it stands, 3 million is literally nothing when you have Ecumenopolis planets everywhere

    Question:
    What time period had the most brutal wartime conflicts?

    • @jeffagain7516
      @jeffagain7516 Год назад +1

      I'd suggest that's a rather difficult question to answer Buddy, since brutality in any war is a given. If you mean most despicable means of conquest, the Rakata were quite good at that. If you mean most lives lost per battles accumulated, The Yuhzan Vong Wars would probably lead. if you mean long slogs without visible means of an end for extended periods per battle, the Clone Wars no doubt head the chart. So, you'd need to further embellish what ya mean. Old creamy Sheevs may have been one of the most calculating and forward thinking of the Sith but some of his predecessor's activities, gave new meaning to the word "despicable" when it came to specific battles.

    If the Searpatists won at Kashyyyk, how will this impacted the Clones Wars? I mean, the Separatist Council will no longer have the reason to surrender now that they can regrouped at Kashyyyk and scatter once again all over the Republic space and launch raids there and there, making the war lasted longer. But aside from that, will this hammered down Palpatine's declaration of the Empire? And will there be anything else that can be added here as impacts of this Separatists' victory?

      @@theliato3809 I know that. But they don't needed to. They just needed to do some random raiding while also reinforce the important battles such as the one at Mygeeto, Felucia and Saleucami in order to tire the Republic out. This will resulted in Palpatine's hands to be forced and sue for peace with the Separatists. Will this worked? I don't know. But if it did, then what Palpatine needed to do is to secretly arrange the assassination of the members of the Separatist Council later one by one while also secretly employing pirate gangs and even the Hutts to harass these independet systems to force them to either rejoin the Republic or being left at the mercy of the criminals.

      The whole is the war effort for the sepratists really fell apart on mustafar where anakin just shut down the whole droid army/navy. Without that the CIS was still going strong in spite of their issues but once it happened the Empire could then just barrel through entire defensive positions easily and threaten worlds into submission.
