I'm on my second "gaming" chair. This one, the right support for the back broke and skews the backrest sideways a bit. I'm done with gaming chairs. This one (which is as of now, 159.99 till July 3rd) was on my list of considerations. I figure it will be a nice entry into mesh chairs before maybe going to a $$$ chair.
This one should last you quite a while with it’s really good build quality! They definitely last much longer than gaming chairs and compete with some of the higher end mesh chairs at least in terms of durability

@Kiler oflols Hey, I'm actually 5'10. I'm a little bit too tall for it, but I love the arm rests. For me the arm rests are super important because I use them to help me get up, I am an above knee amputee right leg. I like it, the only issue you might have is the head rest of you're super picky. I personally love this chair.
@Kiler oflols I have an update. the left side arm rest broke, but not in a crucial way. The front 30% broke , but it hasnt falled off. The issue is that I am 250lbs and use the arm rests to lift a lot of my weight. Also the area in the center of the arm rest is where I shouldve been using to lift. The front edge of the arm rest is where the weakest part it. Would definitely buy again. I shouldn't have put so much weight on the most front part of the arm rest though. They have a 7 year manufacturer warranty, but I am probably just going to glue it seeing as it really will make no difference, once its glued.

This chair was fairly easy to put together, the instructions were clear and I was about to follow along with no issues at all. I also added a pillow for lumbar support because although this is a great chair and is comfortable, it’s not necessarily the best if you’re sitting 10+ hrs a day wfh but in all honesty for the price, I didn’t mind at all. It looks great in my space and easily adjusts the height when needed.

This chair might be a bit tight in terms of size to sit cross legged. The staples dexley is a bit more spacious but honestly if there’s a staples near you they should have both chairs on display to try out. Overall for relaxing and productivity this chair has been really comfortable especially with the recline feature!
I have a Hyken, I'm actually sitting in it right now. I had that same pressure, in my lower thigh just above my knee area. That usually means that the chair is just a bit too high yet. If you drop the height of the chair just a tiny little bit at a time you'll find that sweet spot where it's really comfortable.
Definitely don't get a gaming chair since the don't really factor in ergonomics much at all! Gaming chairs are more for the looks rather than the actual functionality. For gaming or just general use I'd definitely recommend this chair

Hmm I think it should be good if you're 5 feet, but I'd def recommend going over to a local staples to test it out if you aren't sure (returning the chair would be a pain haha)
My specs are i5 8400, gtx1050ti, 16b ram, 1tb hdd, 250gb ssd and the total at the time was around $650ish. I'm not too happy with the results of the PC for photo/video editing so I'll probably upgrade to an M1 mac at some point. I'll make a video about that in the future too so stay tuned! I wouldn't recommend this chair for you since the headrest wouldn't be comfortable, instead I recommend looking into the Staples Dexley or the IKEA markus which would support you better and are both under $200. Thanks for watching!

Chairs are getting crazy these days man... I bought one of these 3 years ago for $85 as a throw away chair... Now I keep seeing this chair come up on reviews and stuff and Staples has it listed for $224 ... That all being said... I'm 6'1" 265lbs and have abused and beat the ever living shit out of this chair for 3 years now and it's still pretty much fine... Headrest don't stay up on its own anymore, but that's most chairs... Sure this cheaper build quality and materials... But in simple terms of just sitting, This chair feels perfectly adequate next to my Herman Miller Chair... H.M. is obviously a much better built chair and will last a loooong time... But it's also 5x more expensive than this

Yeah they're both staples chairs and pretty similar, but the dexley is a little better if you're looking for a wider chair. I personally found the hyken more comfortable when testing them both out at staples

@@Eidisu I looked at both the Dexley and the Hyken. The Dexley was just too long in the seat for me. The seat back was too far back for my taste. I went as far as turning the chair over in the store to see if the back was pushed back when assembled. As far as I could tell the seat back was assembled as far forward as it could go. It just didn't seem like it was a good fit for me. I'm about 6 foot tall and walk around at bout 160-165 pounds for reference. I ended up with the Hyken.

It's actually not small at all (at least for me), but if you're looking for a bigger/wider chair the Staples Dexley might be a good option to check out
I find that I have to adjust it quite a bit throughout the day which isn't a problem for me, but I agree that at times it can get a bit stiff on the back. At least it helps me sit up straight haha

I tried it out and it is very tiny, and I mean very tiny. Also felt cheaper than other chairs in the 150-200 range and had less customization.

Does the back rest stay stiff or does it give or tilt back a bit if you lean on it? (not talking about reclining, but tilt lock)
It tilts back around 1-2 inches whenever you sit down so I wouldn't say it's too stiff on the back

For $500 you could prob get a chair with even better quality, but I’d still recommend the Hyken for the price!

Sorry but the specs for this say that the seat width is 19" that's so small....
It's actually not small at all (at least for me), but if you're looking for a bigger/wider chair the Staples Dexley might be a good option to check out
