    In regard to the quality being "cheap" for the price point on the Hyken, do not expect to get anything significantly better in the $300-$400 range if you're on the fence. I've tried the Nouhaus Ergo3d, The Oline ErgoPro & the Gabrylly Ergo chair all within the last month trying to find a better chair to replace my 5 year old Hyken and none of them hold a candle to the feel of the Hyken for me personally (I'm a 5'11'' 185 Pound guy for reference.) The Hyken has a much more solid feel and fit than a majority of these supposed next tier chairs with equally "cheap" materials. In my opinion, they are just inflated in price because they have roller blade wheels (which aren't as convenient as you'd hope they'd be for hardwood floors... takes a lot of effort to move the things) as well as an aesthetically pleasing mesh lumbar insert piece (unfortunately the material has far too much give and offers virtually no low back support compared to the Hyken.) I'll just be re-ordering a new Hyken to replace my current one after all the hassle of trying to find a "next level" chair. Lesson learned that newer and more expensive isn't always better... sometimes you're just paying for superficial things and a brand name that hold no weight (Nouahus *cough.) ~$200 for a chair that has lasted me over 5 years is not a bad deal to me at all (to be honest it still functions just perfect, it's just aesthetically beaten up a bit from normal wear and tear and has lost a panel on the base... so I don't even really NEED to replace it yet. I just want to.)

      I appreciate your comment so much right now. I was personally just about to purchase the Oline ErgoPro, but had question about the Hyken. I work as a Software Engineer spending hours working from home since the pandemic and my current chair from home just isn't cutting it. I went in and felt the Hyken, but read great reviews on the Oline. But after I read this I will just go in and by the Hyken from the local Staples. Thanks!

    • @coreyperkins34
      @coreyperkins34 2 года назад +3

      @@anthonywright5275 Honestly man, after I read the reviews on the Oline I was totally expecting it to be amazing. I feel like they might have been artificially inflated somehow though after my experience and going back and reading some of the bottom tier ratings. They essentially ripped off the design of the Nouhaus Ergo3d, used cheaper materials and charged $60 less. The "4d" arm rests are cheap, and are constantly moving up, back, side to side and out when you don't want them to... also the lumber insert is immobile, so if that specific curve setup doesn't work for you then you're screwed. I had shooting nerve pains down my back and leg after not even 2 days of using that thing. That's one thing I really like about the Hyken is the adjustable lumbar support piece. I've got a pretty bad back from all my years of weightlifting and football, so yeah support in that area is huge for me working all day in my office as well. Glad I could help and I hope you enjoy it man!

    I am on my second Hyken chair. The chair is very comfortable for me. My problem with this chair is the arm rest starts to tear at the seam and it seems like over time the seat didn't feel as firm as when it was new. The first Hyken chair I was able to return it to the store and received one at no cost. The second one I got has lasted 4 years and the arm rest again started to tear at the seems and the seat doesn't seem as firm. I purchased the warranty for $20 and feel I got plenty of use from the chair. I hope to buy another Hyken because I found other chairs not comfortable for me. The warranty came in handy.

    I bought a Hyken last July and was getting pretty unhappy with the headrest. It was too high up and it was either forcing my head down or forcing me to strain against that happening. It reached the point where it was hurting my neck so badly that two days ago I pulled the headrest off.
    Turns out, as your video pointed out, there *IS* a verticle adjustment. It's an inch or two at most and it *REALLY* fights you (which is why I didn't think it was vertically adjustable). But I decided to pull out the headrest tonight and look at it and yeah, if you really Konan it, you can adjust it vertically and mine was at the top of the range. By getting it down as low as possible, it is now working as a headrest instead of a torture device!
    Everything else you said about the chair is true. It's not the most comfortable mesh but it's passable. In fact, the same comment applies to just about every aspect of this chair; if I had to describe it in one word, passable seems pretty apt.
    But you really can't beat the price and nothing else at this price point comes even close to touching it.

For someone with a small buget whos looking to buy an ergonomic chair this is probably the best of its category. @@btodtv Eh, I like your channel. You guys are super informative. But I disagree with the comparison. It _is_ like a car reviewer reviewing a cheaper car, but specifically -- it's a Ferrari dealership reviewing Civics.
      I think, even at the end, when you talk about having to deal with "the hassle" of returning a chair once it breaks to a store to get a replacement as part of a warranty, it felt like you guys were really massaging the point in a way that felt a tad disingenuous.
      I appreciate this channel's reviews but the utter apathy shown towards this chair is honestly strange to me. It's a cheaper chair that does a lot for a low price. It's not a show-pony. It's not meant to be flaunted in a public square like a Jony Ive creation. It's a chair, meant for sitting.
      I've owned one nearly 4 years. 6 foot 3, 300 pounds. And it's been flawless. It's not just a good chair for the price, it's a good chair, period. No, it does not have a back that "flexes" when you stretch (another detail I hear in these reviews that is puzzling to me) and the mesh isn't as "soft" as higher end chairs, as you've said it "feels like you are sitting on top of it, and that it doesn't 'cradle' you", which is a line that is so strange and inane that it doesn't sound like a human wrote it.
      The biggest issue I see in this review is just that from the very start, it's almost like you are being held at gunpoint to say anything remotely positive about this chair, and I would imagine that it's probably super difficult to find anything nice to say when it's hundreds of dollars less than the bare minimum that would satiate your incredibly specific requirements of comfort.
