I took a gamble and ordered one of these about a year ago. It is one heavy mfer. I’m new to the leather working world but I’ve been wanting to get more and more immersed. I wasn’t sure if this product stacked up to others, it seemed to be doing the job for me after a little practice with it. Glad to see my favorite leather worker giving it good reviews.

Interestingly enough, I got the very same model a few months back. The price is right for this press and considering that you also need to buy dies, it gets pretty small as you expand your library. Just need to sell all those leather items now ;)
I bought one of these back in April to do a small die-cut parts run. Ran it to cut a run of 650 parts because I can't afford one of the pricy die cutting machines. It took a little bit to get each side leveled out. It's HEAVY and works great. The only thing I did was put some synthetic grease on the surface where the cam bearings meet the springs and replaced the cutting board type material with the red clicker board surface. That tends to be a little easier on the dies.
1 ton arbor press can handle small stuff. Where this press might be great for is larger pieces like wallet blanks so to speed up the cutting. O already use a 1 ton arbor press but would upgrade to this press before I would buy a larger arbor press. I did have a 5 ton arbor press but a family member stole it out of my barn and never returned it, so to keep peace I just bought a cheap harbor freight 1 ton. It works for small stuff like key globs and leather straps but would take time to use an arbor press for larger stuff. It would work bit I would lose to much time in doing it with the one I have. I literally just bought the exact same one of these a few weeks ago. I immediately bought a slightly bigger cutting board. Dialing it it with the screws is a pain, simply because some dies are bigger than others, so you have to break out that huge heavy wrench to adjust the screws. Also mine didn't come in a box. It was barely held together with plastic and tape. Final thoughts? It does the job fairly well. Sometimes you have to pull that lever a few times for the die to cut cleanly, depending if placement of the die is more toward the back or the front.

The parts had come loose in shipping, and since the crate was damaged the parts were missing completely out of the box. I now have to find nuts that match, keys for the rotating shaft so the bearings stay on it, and have to completely rebuild and level it again. You got one that was taken care of in shipment for sure….😂
It would be a great asset for die cutting other materials that aren't leather. But if there are no instructions for its use, how do you know you are using it or setting it up correctly?
I love mine. Now if I could just source inexpensive quality dies. 😉 I broke some 3d printed stamps so be careful to have the stamp centered on the tray.
If during the leveling process you have the handle pressed and a die on the plastic you'll have a clean cut and no damage to the plastic.... Given you use different dies all the same hight,,, taller dies would still damage the board of course...
A few days ago I received the cutter that I ordered. I'm new to all this so maybe I'm doing something wrong cause mine doesn't work. When moving the handle back and forth the top plate does not go up and down. Is there a trick to get the plate to release? What am I doing wrong? I have contacted the manufacturer a few times and haven't received any help. Any ideas would be appreciated.
I bought one of these recently and to be honest, I was pretty disappointed all the way through. First off, it didn't come in a box at all, it was wrapped in plastic wrap. It didn't come with any hardware at all, including the handle, and one of the rubber legs was broken. It also had some weird shims screwed onto the bottom that I had to remove. I contacted support and they said they'd send a handle within two weeks, but they never did. I was able to jury rig a handle, but it never quite worked right, and without the wrenches included it was very difficult to adjust anything, and without the hex wrench especially the cam shafts get loose and they've messed up some of my dies. The thing needs near constant adjustment, too. It's very fiddly. In the end, I just made my own clicker press with a hydraulic press and some steel plates. Works a lot better, wound up being a lot cheaper even. If I am being honest, this thing is more of a hassle than it's worth, and especially since my order got screwed up.
I got an uneven bolt situation, not square to the front, which is just sloppy, but it doesn’t appear to affect the ability to cut stuff…we’ll see how it goes
I got the same results with a$50 1 ton arbor press and a press foot from the Arborpressguy, total under$100 investment. I appreciate the review, and wish it was permissible to get died made from Tony's patterns.
Tony, I watched this video and I was inspired by your results. I went online and purchased one of these machines. I do hope that one day it will actually arrive. So far it has been lost and nobody at Vevor has been able to bring any results. I will try again tomorrow. This is by no means an insult to you. I still want one of these machines, I am just going to have to wait longer.
Its a great machine U need to practice to use it well it can cut anything with a single click and u have to rise it a little more so that u don't have to put pressure

I've had one of these for over a year now and it's wonderful! However, being all steel, they can be prone to patina with rust in a humid environment. I rub mine down with Johnsons paste wax to keep it I good shape.

You need to wet a little the leather, before to Stam it and it is gona be more impressive..
What thickness of dies can be used? Texas Custom Dies reccommended 1.25" Does this press accept that size?
