I was one of the people that suffered from depression..and last Christmas night i tried to take my own life...with pills...but thank God for my 26 year old daughter who heard me tell her goodbye over the phone and realize what i ment and came over with my ex and they saved me...so i celebrate 1 year of a new chance on life today....
Times are tough but times get better.
Prayers for you and your family
Hoping this coming Christmas will be a 2 year celebration. Will be praying for you ♥️
I don't know you but I'm really glad you're still here
Hang in there sir, life is good.
Chris is trying to draw attention to depression and combat it. The irony is the guy is a police officer and his job is to protect the town and people in the town but he couldn’t even save his own wife.
Great analogy
Chris is trying to draw He is just learning or maybe you are .
No there is not supposed to be irony
As far as relatively new country artists go, Chris Stapleton has saved the soul of country music. I'm so tired of that bro country stuff, and here is a guy who is sincere, a killer musician, and just flat out excellent in every way. Glad to see you guys checking this one out.
Thanks to Chris AND to Ben Foster the actor who played the cop. He was affiliated with and has worked closely with the charity mentioned
Hate to disagree, but this average 65 year old white cowboy type dude thinks a message like this is perfect for Christmas. Depression kills more around the holidays than any other time of year. This reminds us to stay in contact with those we know in danger of this disease. I have been married for 41 years and firedaway broadsides at my wife until I recovered from my alcoholism 18 years ago. She said “fire away” and loved me like the guy in the video loved his wife until I found Christ and got healed of my addiction. I may not fit your definition of a “free thinker”, but I am a “paid in full thinker”. Love you guys God Bless.
Mr05chuck, congratulations on your sobriety. It takes a strong person and strong support to get this far. I wish many more continued years of sobriety and marriage to you!
God bless you sir!
Yep my ex wife's new husband just killed himself after she divorced him. Poor dude
Robert Beckler least you survived the ordeal
@@Mr05Chuck I new the guy. Figured that I would have time to talk to him. But 2 day after I got news from my ex that they got divorced he was dead. I told her that depression fucks with your mind I hope she's not to hard on him. And yes every Christmas its the same thing. Some one dies
I think this was very appropriate for the day. The holidays are hard for a lot of people because of mental difficulties and disorders. Some people feel so alone during this time of year, they might decide to do something that can’t be undone, like try to take their own life. You never know. Maybe someone out there in RUclips Land needed to hear this song and see that web address tonight. Anyhow, great reaction. I hadn’t heard this one yet and it was beautiful. Getting a new video from Lost in Vegas was a pretty good way to wrap up Christmas. Love you guys! See you in the new year if not sooner.
Kelly, I second everything you said! Merry Christmas, Ryan & George!
I was about to write the same thing. :)
Well said. Thanks for highlighting that!
I, for one, really needed to see this video. Especially today.
Thank you. No other words could be more appropriate and sincere.
@@Cayoalbuquerque hang in there breathe deep & know you can do this & people care.
One of my favorite Chris Stapleton tracks. This one hits close to home, because I was that woman a couple years ago. Beautiful song.
This song makes me cry every single time I listen to it.
Being bipolar it puts my in a place where I'm no longer around people I love, either through my personal chaos I create, or through more drastic measures.
I see so much of myself in this and it kills me, but it's all cathartic.
Ohh my, what a beautiful song. I'm a mother of a mentally ill son that has attempted suicide multiple times. He is with me because I won't let him go. He is better and better every year ❤️
Thanks for a great video ✌️
I got you girl.....marry me.
The video completely makes this song. I get so emotional because of it.
Thank you. As someone who has had diagnosed mental illness since I was 19, (22 years and counting) I appreciate the song, but I especially the fact that you guys went ahead and uploaded this difficult song on Christmas. This is the hardest day of the year for so many. I hope your day was filled with good food, good people, and much love. ❤
Uncle Lucius - Keep the wolves away.
Another that would be great to see from you guys.
Outstanding song!
Uncle Lucius is my all time favorite band. Great song suggestion!
Yesss!
Definitely
Thank you for this. As someone who has bi polar depression i battle wars with myself wanting to give up daily. I put on that fake smile for people but deep down i struggle daily
Mark Clark stay strong brother
Yes, stay strong!
Thank you for sharing. Please don't give up. It gets hard sometimes, but don't give up.
Mark Clark ❤
Please stay. We need you.
I can't believe the negative comments about this song and video. This is one of the hardest times of the year for mental health. That's a hard situation for both parties in the relationship. I'm sure she didn't like feeling the way she does/did as much as he didn't want to go through it again. No one asks to be bi-polar or any other mental health issue. So when someone says it's cheesy they need to think of why people don't talk about it who do have those issues. Then it's too late.
You caught that too...I also believe she was bipolar.
Chris Stapleton's wife actually suffered from mental illness and that is what this song is about. It's a very deep song. Very relatable to my life.
Thank you. This song make me believe I can still be loved.
As a 39 year old mental health patient, I'm so glad this video was made. I have bipolar disorder. For those not really familiar with this condition, you can go from on top of the world to so down you want to die in what feels like a split second. I've been married almost 18 years to a man who's stayed with me throughout all my ups and downs. I'm a 2x suicide survivor. I thank God that I had a husband who knew how to recognize the symptoms and get me the help I needed, unfortunately in a mental health hospital. Sometimes, when I got into those extreme lows, even the reminders of my family couldn't pull me up. I'm begging everyone to learn the signs and get help for your friends and family. If you have to, remove dangerous objects like knives and weapons. Put the medication in a safe place. And above all, be there. Let them cry, let them scream. It's so painful sometimes! We feel like freaks! We feel alone! Look for the silence. Look in their eyes. Watch for the sudden shifts in moods. Encourage counseling and, if you have to, call for help against their wills. Please, do whatever it takes. Don't say it's none of your business! Don't just hope it'll go away. Because as a survivor, I can assure you, it won't go away. But with help, it can be controlled. God bless you all. #MyStoryIsntFinished
I think the negative comments came more from the reaction.
i think you guys should listen to broken halos by Chris Stapleton
thats a great song!!
Holidays can be hard for those that suffer depression. My wife and best friend rescued me some 24 plus years ago. Thanks to her I am still here, plus 4 children later. I still find myself slipping at times yet she is always there to catch me. This video shows that we all need that safety net in this crazy circus we call life.
Thank you so much for doing this song and including the video. I read further down that someone said this was cheesy but it's not for the people that have had to deal with the subject matter. Very powerful. Merry Christmas LIV!
It reminds me of me n my wife fighting so much
It's actually the perfect time of year for you guys to do this video, since many deaths from suicidal depression happen during the holidays. You may have very well saved someones life today.
Merry Christmas to you both, your families and friends, and all of your viewers.
“Watch You Burn” Chris Stapleton!
The voice & lyrics!
This is what loving someone with bipolar is like. Every day.
100%
Very much so...
Letters from home- John Michael Montgomery
Been wanting this one for a long time!!!
Yes!!
Yes!
Yesssss
For high-end vocals in another genre, do "Say Hello 2 Heaven" by Temple of the Dog. This is Chris Cornell really near his peak.
So is Far Beyond The Wheel
and black rain from soundgarden as well. He crushes it in that one as well
That’s my favorite song
Awesome stuff
Mental illness is hard on both parties. Being schizophrenic and bipolar has kept me on medication for years to control, but the best medicine I have is my husband who puts up with my good days and bad. I am thankful for having a man who loves me and come into a relationship that he knew would not be easy. He's strong and has helped me through many awful moments.
For 25yrs he's helped me keep my sanity.
Merry Christmas guys and I hope a wonderful New Year for you both.
Bonnie Raitt “I can’t make you love me” is #InstantPlaylist guys! Merry Xmas!
Yessir
I love this song & this has a great message on mental health awareness!!!! Thanks for reacting to this song!!!!
His wife sing's You are My Sunshine. And Oh my lord is it every gorgeous!
His wife is back up vocals in all of his songs..especially live on stage.
I just recently found your channel and man, you guys are pure joy to watch. Mental health can be difficult to talk about and you guys handled it so well. Can't wait for more!
seen Chris Stapleton- clicked so fast lol
Midland- burn out!! Closest modern thing to classic country! Gotta react to it! Thanks
This video hits me every time.. brings tears from a place I still can’t figure out and makes me feel motivation to continue helping people as a paramedic as much as I can.
I hope you both had a Merry Christmas and I pray no one feels this alone or helpless.
I love Chris Stapleton's music, but "Fire Away" is my favorite. Gets me every. single. time. Love it.
Mine too. Especially the acoustic live version he does with his wife, I think it was for a radio station, usually one 9f the first vids that pop up when you search it on here. Check it out if you haven't. It's nice seeing the connection between he and his wife given the heaviness of this song.
Steve Earle - COPPERHEAD ROAD.
Merry Christmas guys!
Hell yes!!
@@jonathanwilliams6451 Maybe Jonathan if enough of us keep requesting this song they'll check it out.
B H thank you for requesting it, hopefully more people will request it and just maybe they’ll do it.
Seriously? He has whole albums of songs that are better than that song. Literally every song on “Train a Comin,” “I Feel Alright,” “El Corazon,” and “Transcendental Blues” is better than Copperhead Road. I’m not saying that’s a bad song at all, but if you’re introducing them to Steve Earle the song you’ve absolutely gotta start with is Valentine’s Day.
@@joshualeonard9702 Well its a good song and this is the song he seems to be most known for. I mean when you mention his name Copperhead Road or Guitar Town are mentioned.
Willie Nelson ray Charles 7 Spanish Angel's please!
^dis right here
Heath Hisel oddly heard this for the first time today, but I agree it should be done
Heath Hisel love this song
Yes!!
Heath Hisel YES!! Beautiful song!!
Beautiful video about loving someone with mental illness. Powerful.
You two are adorable. Keep flashing those beautiful smiles 😊
You gotta do Believe by Brooks and Dunn for your next country reaction!
Yes please.
William Leonard then do the j hud cover at their tribute concert
@@xv4569 mmm no one can do it like Ronnie
Believe is an awesome song.
Yes! That would be awesome❤
Momas dont let your babies grow up to become cowboys by Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings
Layne Crawford yea for real
This song saved my life...it will forever be one of my favorites and is the song that introduced me to Chris Stapleton. The video randomly showed up in my Facebook timeline a few years ago at a time when I needed it the most, I then went down the rabbit hole of RUclips videos of his interviews regarding the making of the video and song and discovered more of his music...Thankful for that
Thank You so much!
Fantastic work! I so love your reaction and perspective of great songs.
Keep putting REAL out there! Many thanks
George Jones..CORVETTE..(THE ONE I LOVED BACK THEN)🙏
Never clicked a notification so quick before...
That video makes me cry everytime.
I appreciate you guys showing a reaction to this music video. I’ve gone through my own personal struggles with mental health, and anytime light can be shined on it, I’ll always appreciate that. Thank you guys for always being real and genuine, you’re my favorite reactors on RUclips!
Travis Hart
Stay strong.
Chris stapleton got me into country music. Check out cody jinks last call for blues. Hes madd good
Jinks is the man!
Mamma's song by Cody Jinks is my personal favorite. But last call is pretty good too.
Hippies and cowboys my personal favorite
Hippies and cowboys for me too.
I would recommend somewhere in the middle for the reaction
Have never seen the video before, and I’m glad I watched it with y’all, instead of by myself. Heavy.
Merry Christmas, and thanks for closing my year out on a great note- Tennessee Whiskey was my first LIV video back in January, and this seems like the perfect bookend to go out on.
I NEED a reaction to Lake Street Dive!!!! One of my absolute favorites is Go Down Smooth. Such an incredibly talented group. Love you guys!
This hits very close to home; it breaks my heart to listen to this
Great song!!! Powerful video...
The video is a perfect reflection of mental illness in a relationship. How the relationship starts off promising and then things start to fall apart. When she's wondering around in the corn field, I believe it represents her being lost in her own head... Great song choice and thank you for including the video...
Merry Christmas, guys!!!
Thanks for bringing this up.
Crazy coincidence that I was literally listening to this song on vinyl when I saw the video on my feed
Thanks guys, this is one of my favorites and I have been hoping you’d react to it.
Just watched all your Chris Stapleton videos for the first time and you guys are a joy to watch and listen to, love the way you break down the songs and talk about the music !!!
Well now you guys have to do Gary Allan-The Best I ever Had. Gary Allen experienced this exact situation in Chris's song with the death of his late wife. It's an outstanding song.
Branden Montgomery you can feel the pain in Gary’s music. His songs were the only thing on the playlist for breakups back in the day.
Gary is one of the most passionate singers I've ever heard. He's amazing and so underrated
Will you all please stop requesting the worst song the artist has recorded? First Copperhead Road and now this. If you want them to listen to Gary, Watching Airplanes is where you start.
@@joshualeonard9702 I love Watching Airplanes, however I think his better songs are his slower, more passionate songs. Such as Best I Ever Had, Today, and Tough Little Boys
Jeremy Lilly yeah, I don’t have nearly as much conviction about this as the Steve Earle thing. The Copperhead Road request got me so wound up it spilled over into here.
You've grown because your SO real, objective, and relatable. Merry Christmas to the OG Free Thinkers. 👏👏🎅🎁🎁
That part where he holds his heart.. That's a real feeling when you lose your mate
Trent Tomlinson
One Wing in the Fire
Drunker than me is two of my favorites but ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING he sings, is AWESOME!!
This is a shout out to the great men who get pulled into a bad situation and have too much heart to walk away. That same amount of heart is what makes them great public servants. It sucks but it's true!
Whiskey and you is also a fantastic song of Mr Stapleton's
“Fool me again” by Chris Stapleton is amazing! Highly recommend it, he sounds unbelievable live!
Happy New Year!
My husband and I watch you guys everyweekend. Love the honesty, and variety of music. More people need to realize that music is the soundtrack of our lives. People are touched by music, healed by it. It's always such a beautiful thing, in a not so nice world sometimes.
Love what you guys do!
Cheers to you both 😊
P.S. Sad but true is a great song!
Just had to watch again today. Thank you! Chris's wife Morgane's harmony makes this song. When we saw them live, this was powerful and beautiful.
Shots up fellas! Wow though, super powerful song and the video really does follow along with it. Chris Stapleton is awesome. Happy Holidays Ryan, George and everyone🙏🏽🙌🏽
This channel is... Everything you'd want in a reaction channel👊🏽💯
Green grass and high tides by the outlaws!
Yeah, love that song. :)
Ryan & George,
Thank you so much for being a big part of my year. You will never know how many days at work I intentionally re-watched the "Sometimes I Cry" Reaction video just to enjoy your genuine appreciation for Chris and his talent. I love you guys and pray God richly blesses your lives. Merry Christmas and I look forward to securing my FreeThinkers hoodie. #ICantLiVWithoutLostInVegas
Sincerely,
James
Just found you two --- love your hats!! Love watching you play off each other...and the music!! And my heart is warmed to see you are Chris Stapleton fans also...look forward to your next you tubes!!
Merry Christmas! So wish Death Row would have won! You guys would really dig the groove.
That was my vote.
Randy Houser "Anything Goes"
Brooks & Dunn "Believe"
Craig Morgan "This Ain't Nothing"
I'm a therapist, and that was a very true to life depiction of the tragedy surrounding mental illness, and those who are closely connected to it. Yes, it depicted that the husband was there for her, but it also depicted what a sacrificial toll it has on those who try to manage people suffering in that way. It's an awful, often silent killer. SEEK HELP.
You guys are our favorite!! Ordered your merch babies!! We love y'all. Keep doing what you're doing.
Damn guys I didn't even realize that was own merch at first, I saw George's hoodie and was like damn that's a slick ass looking hoodie, then like 10 seconds later you said it was your own, might have to get me one of them hoodies lol. Looks really, really great.
This happened to our family in 2010...my daughter blamed herself... And almost did it ..the pains and questions are still there...
You both are so good at picking up how a song is going to go before you hear the song end, I really appreciate how you both listen to the feel of a song. You guys are the best.
I was just thinking fire away should be on here, and now it is!! Thank you for your great videos!
The merch looks good!🤩
So what is y'alls story? Boys since grade school? Met at work? Only reactions I watch.
Well I wouldn't think was in the same grade unless Jordan looks super young lol
I know they met in Los vegas as adults but that's all I know
I'd like to know the back story
One of their Q&A's they said they met at work and found they had similar interests and became friends.
@@PastHisPrime336 good look they seem like they went through trenches together they blend well.
Sometimes I Cry by Chris Stapleton is an insane song. His vocals on that one are amazing. I definitely recommend it
Love this. I guess I wasn't the only one dealing with this stuff over Christmas. Perfect timing gentlemen
Great song I love Chris Stapleton whisky and you is so much better!!!!!!! I listen to that song every day...
I agree!
Yep
parachute's my favorite surprised it didn't win
Thank you guys for what you do, the world needs more of your message.
This song and video accompaniment brings up old memories of when I was almost to this point with depression about 6 years ago. I was SO close to doing this. I'm so glad I'm not in that head space anymore. This song is so beautiful on it's own but the video helps drive the deeper feel of it home for you.
The timing on this doesn't matter people need to hear about these things. The holidays are hard for most people. We all lose people in life, and you notice who is missing this time of year. I lost my brother to suicide when I was 12 so this really hits a cord with me right now.
Great reaction guys. It’s a damn heavy song, but you guys always talk about how country music tells a story and boy does this paint a picture of truth out here in farm country right now. There’s plenty of addiction and mental illness out here in farm country and other rural areas that don’t make the news of your favorite national news source. Help isn’t always close or affordable to rural people as it is to urban dwellers. For instance, farming is one of the most dangerous jobs out there that leads to many injuries on top of the fact farm incomes have been cut in half in recent years can easily turn into a story just like Chris paints in this song. We like country songs that are real, even though we may not like what is really going on behind closed doors out here in the rural areas. Just keep and eye out on the folks you know so they can get help they need.
Anyhow, Chris does a fantastic job as always. He may not be my favorite country singer, but there is no denying the talent that he has. And good choice in the on whiskey fellas, you’re considered honorary country boys in my book.
Yall need to do chris Stapleton version of this is a man's world! Even the band looked at him like DAMN!
Thank you for your free thinking .. it’s wonderful to see more people who appreciate music for just that .. the music.. not the genre not the hype not the stereotype.. y’all are the only reactions I watch .. truly a fan thank youuuu !!
Where were you when the world stopped turning- Alan Jackson
Where were you when they built the ladder to heaven?
Andrew Beswick did it make you feel like crying?
I LOVE this song. I think every man should say these lyrics to their wife on their wedding day. I can separate the video from the song. I love the video too. I think this song is beautiful.
Thanks for playing! This subject needs attention as a nation. God bless ya'll !!
Chris Stapleton- I was wrong. So much emotion.
Y’all whipping out that whiskey bottle gave.me.life! LOL!!
Merry Christmas and another great video!

Thanks for your reactions. They are so sincere and intelligent .
PLEASE REVIEW!!! Ray Charles and Willie Nelson, Seven Spanish Angels
I mean, it's Ray Charles and Willie Nelson. What's there to review. Two all time greats.
Your next country song needs to be I Believe by Brooks and Dunn. You gotta do the video along with it to get the full impact of the song.
Oh yes!! Gives me chills each time
It is definitely something that is relevant to this time of year ..far to many people fall victim of the holiday stresses..great review as always keep up the great videos..definitely a reason y’all are close to reaching 1 mil subs
Just spent my 8th successive Christmas away from my wife. I was surrounded by friends & loved ones but still felt alone. This video underscores the heartache of loss whatever the reason or the cause. Probably not the best video for me to watch tonight, but as they say, ''it is what it is''.
You guys need to check out Colter Wall- The Devil Wears a Suit and Tie.
Especially the Brewery Sessions video, so you can see him perform it. This is a guy whose voice will shock you i think in the same way Chis Stapleton did!
Allman Brothers-“Statesboro Blues” or “Trouble No More” or “Its Not My Cross to Bear”
miconis123 whipping post would definitely be the most popular that represents the band well. Good call.
This is what we used to call "tear jerkers" or a "crying in your beer" song. Good analysis, love the channel.
