Do you need to use a small flad blade screwdriver to remove the emergency key?

Once the back cover is off of the fob you can probably remove with emergency key with your fingers

I’ve changed my batteries but lost the plastic middle piece In between the batteries and now my fob will not do anything. Do I need another plastic piece???

I just tested that out on one of these key fobs and it still works with the plastic missing. Are you sure you put the batteries in correctly (not upside down)

Batteries just died in my (much newer) back-up fob. I noticed it had the plastic, just like yours did. I'm pretty sure my main fob(older original) does not. Which made me wonder if it was even necessary. TY.@@PYR-Auto
