Something needs to change. You can’t do the same mistakes over and over again and expect different results. For me playing Haaland every game without Rodry is never going to work because it looks like we are a player short in the middle every game. If you don’t want to change style of play the only solution is dropping Haaland for the big games and playing Foden as a false 9 to get that extra player in midfield that we so desperately need. Have we forgotten that we only turned things around last year when Haaland was injured. No disrespect to him he is the best finisher in the world but he just doesn’t fit in this style of play.
The only way I see it working is to change the style of play till January where you can buy some legs in January. Harland is good enough to carry a team on the counter attack, but the lack of Rodri is exposing the lack of defensive prediction his team has. In a way it reminds me of Wenger where he knew a good attacking player when he saw one. But Wenger really struggled with knowing a good defender or when his defenders were about to reach the end of there prime.
Gundo, Walker are finished. Silva needs to be a bit more quick and agile. I would still say the same for KDB but he can produce magic out of nowhere though.
Average age of City's midfield is around 30 (rodri, de bruyne, bernardo, kovacic, gundogan), completely agree with Jamie on this one, just compare them to Liverpools midfield, Madrid's, Barcelona's, Arsenal etc. (need I say more). Not to ignore they have a few important injuries but then again they should be able to adjust without them, teams like Madrid and Liverpool are able to do it.
This is why Sir Alex will always be the greatest. He won 3 in a row TWICE across two different decades, all without breaching FFP rules. He also never had this Pep record of winning only 1 game in 13 across his entire managerial career.
@@thefourthchairman4151 City is only a club with money and usually every decade we have a club like that. They will go back to default settings. Just wait for it. 😂😂😂😂
Pep’s legacy is on the line if he can’t fix this. Dare to say this is his first test during his entire coaching career. He needs to call Jurgen Klopp for some advice on how to pull through when you lose your best player. And it’s only one player he’s having to compensate for. Imagine having multiple big dawgs out for extended periods.
All he's done in his career and now his legacy is on the line?? Stop with the dramatics. 10+ years of winning everything in football, it's fine to lose. It's life and it's football, they're supposed to lose
Pep and his players are aware of the verdict for the 115 charges. Hence the prep to play in the lower league and definitely not playing the Champions League. Softening the blow over time.
Why is anyone surprised? Juve are one of Europe's most established sides and they beat some team who won the same amount of European cups as Celtic 😂😂😂 Serie A is a top European league.
Celtic's European Cup win is a real achievement. They won that fair and square, with a side that cost peanuts, with every player local to the actual area of Glasgow. Do not try to diminish what Celtic did in a legitimate fashion to bunch of plastic cheats, bought and paid for with corrupt blood money. Thanks.
Wouldn’t worry about UCL for City tbh. Coefficient is going to give a 5th spot to the PL this season. 1 team might be able to challenge them for 4th this year, but not 2 to usurp them.
As a Liverpool fan I feel bad for pep and Man City because us Liverpool fans went through this 2 years ago with Henderson and Fabinho when their legs were gone and nothing can help it. Difference will be pep will get to spend in January to give his team a boost
Guys - at least discuss Juventus. Even Alex (God bless) chose to give insights on Man City - maybe in job description. We are talking about a struggling and rebuilding Juventus also. Going into this tie - Juve was ravaged by injuries and draws. Lets speak on that. Its two teams. Two stories. Two sets of fans.
Carragher is wrong to say that Pep has never faced a crisis like this in his career. His last season at Barcelona was a bad one. But it is true that he has not shown the ability to turn things around when a club has to move from one era to another with ageing key players. Perhaps this time he'll stay and show the world that he's in the same league as Fergie.
lol nah. Y’all are acting like having the current city squad is the same as having Tom cleverly, Daren fletcher, and Jonny Evans in your rotating squad. Not gonna happen mate. He’s got 6 months and he’s done.
It was not remotely comparable. Barcelona 2011-12 were a very good team: it took tremendous effort from Real Madrid in La Liga and Chelsea in the CL to stop them winning. They won the Copa del Rey and were runners up in La Liga with 91 points, with the best defensive record in the league. Several levels ahead of today's Man City.
@@oldskoolmusicnostalgia It's the same team that was wiped out by Bayern Munich a few months later in the following season and had been knocked out of the competition by an unimpressive Chelsea the season before. Clearly, the team was in crisis and Pep knew it, which is why he left.
Can we stop saying that it’s the players being old and slow? Makes no sense when there have been players like kroos play into his 30s all while being incredibly slow. It’s not the aging it’s the TACTICS
Kroos had played like Tchouameni and a younger casemiro around him though. Manchester City - their whole central midfield is 30+ which is why Pep's trying out the box things like bringing Foden deeper or shoehorning Rico Lewis into positions he's not comfortable in or packing the defence to take the onus off the aging midfield
The Kroos/Modric/Casemiro midfield won everything and none of them were particularly fast. Pep cannot escape criticism because of lack of physicality, his entire philosophy is possession, control, and passing and his current players should be more than adequate for that.
@@WETs3rgullioni casemiro would've been 23 in their first season together and they would've played together throughout his twenties As mentioned, ALL of Manchester City's current central midfield is 30 or above without tweaking it to put John Stones in there or shoehorn Rico Lewis in there. Therein lies the problem
Why isn't anyone talking about how this may be telling and foreshadowing what the 115 charges outcome might be, that it might be bad, very bad, and they may already be knowing, hence the bad form its because of the psychological toll that the 115 charges outcome is having on them, but even if they dont know yet, just the thought and uncertainty of it, may be taking a toll on their mentality, affecting their performances.
They have had a lot of injuries. But I have started to wonder if they have inside information or heard rumors that they are likely to be severely degraded, so they have they minds on of where to go next in order to save their careers? I don’t know, but the dramatic shift in quality seems to point to that it is something more than injuries going on.
Difference between Liverpool 2 seasons ago and City now is that Fabinho and Henderson just didn't have it anymore. City have Rodri injured & De Bruyne is just back.

This is just what City are without the cheating

Haaland suffering instant karma for his "stay humble" comment to Arteta.
Their offensive approach is still very good. They'll overcome this situation.
That's Liverpool last season. No point in scoring if you can't defend.
You had Alvarez.
I love when they joke around but I love it even more when they analyze the game and the teams
Gundo, Walker are finished. Silva needs to be a bit more quick and agile. I would still say the same for KDB but he can produce magic out of nowhere though.
Micah looks like he's gonna burst out laughing at any second 🤣🤣
Average age of City's midfield is around 30 (rodri, de bruyne, bernardo, kovacic, gundogan), completely agree with Jamie on this one, just compare them to Liverpools midfield, Madrid's, Barcelona's, Arsenal etc. (need I say more). Not to ignore they have a few important injuries but then again they should be able to adjust without them, teams like Madrid and Liverpool are able to do it.
So at 30/32 you’re old now. The main issue is that there’s a lack of defensive midfield players.
This is why Sir Alex will always be the greatest. He won 3 in a row TWICE across two different decades, all without breaching FFP rules. He also never had this Pep record of winning only 1 game in 13 across his entire managerial career.
How on earth a team like Brest is still above giants like Dortmund, Bayern, Juventus, Real Madrid, and ManCity after 6 matches played?
@@thefourthchairman4151 they have a good shape

Best part of this festive season is Man City returning to their pre-2008 roots 😆 👏
First test? Mad
@ I mean this is our first time seeing him in the fetal position 😆
It's not just one player. Foden, Bernardo, Walker, Gundogan... Their whole midfield is shite and their defense is gone
All he's done in his career and now his legacy is on the line?? Stop with the dramatics. 10+ years of winning everything in football, it's fine to lose. It's life and it's football, they're supposed to lose

Pep is getting his standards down for the England job in 2026
The current squad has run their course
Stay humble eh 😂😂😂
3 losses was freaky and stright up weird. now entering double digit losses and its almost uncomfortable, even for a neutral or non-city fan.
It happens: Arsenal lost Odegaard, then lost form. He's back and we are playing better. City are suffering from mental fatigue and lack of confidence.
Why couldn't it happen last season 😅😅😅

Why is anyone surprised? Juve are one of Europe's most established sides and they beat some team who won the same amount of European cups as Celtic 😂😂😂
Serie A is a top European league.
Juve were 3/1 at home to win i was all over that won a few quid of it
Celtic's European Cup win is a real achievement.
Is it going to be worse or
Man city keep the ball wins the game
As a Liverpool fan I feel bad for pep and Man City because us Liverpool fans went through this 2 years ago with Henderson and Fabinho when their legs were gone and nothing can help it. Difference will be pep will get to spend in January to give his team a boost
Love seeing Clint in the studio ❤
@@WETs3rgullioni and darren gibson. To be fair Fletcher was turning into a very classy defensive midfielder.

@@oldskoolmusicnostalgia It's the same team that was wiped out by Bayern Munich a few months later in the following season and had been knocked out of the competition by an unimpressive Chelsea the season before. Clearly, the team was in crisis and Pep knew it, which is why he left.
This is the best way to reduce the load on the team for the spring.
City better pick it up because I can't look at sad Big Meeks any longer 🤬🤬

Nice to see a proper European team of pedigree beat an English league two side on steroids tonight
Just the 26 seconds for Carragher to mention LiVARpool whilst drawing comparisons. Man just can't help himself
“Younger Casemiro” by what like 3 years? Dude wasn’t 20 when they played together man. Get outta here
@@WETs3rgullioni casemiro would've been 23 in their first season together and they would've played together throughout his twenties
As mentioned, ALL of Manchester City's current central midfield is 30 or above without tweaking it to put John Stones in there or shoehorn Rico Lewis in there. Therein lies the problem
i can’t take micah seriously when he be reporting tf 😂😂😂
I like this Big Meeks.. It's about time him and City were brought down a peg or two. Europa Cup FTW 😂😂

New tactic 100%. 70% possession and lost 2:0. Backpassing, side passing, does nothing. Need to be more direct, dribbling forward, taking on ppl, shooting more often. 3 goals on target all game...come on 💩
Agree. Just like LIverpool playing side to side. Arne Slot change that. Now Liverpool is more direct and see where they are now.
