I would have been totally stuck without your video! The owner's manual isn't nearly detailed enough! This was one of the trickiest maintenance tasks ever! Thanks a million!
My deceased brother had a 2015 Ford Fusion. I have it now. I never knew what it was like to fly an Apollo Space Mission...until I had the Fusion! I've ALWAYS been a Ford man, but, man...this is new to me! Not needing a key to start the car! Just the fob! And, of course, the batteries were dead! This video has saved me a LOT of time! I opened the remote to find a mirror picture of what you have in this video!!! Please keep making these videos! They ARE LIFE SAVERS!!! I thank you so VERY much!!!
Trade that fusion in for a Mustang and thank me later. My 2017 mustang has remote start and with the V6 and premium gas, im getting 27 mpg highway.
Thank you for a proper how to video, no bs and straight to the point. It would be great if everyone made how to videos like this!
This video should be used as a template for every how to video on RUclips. Well done 👍. It made a 10-15 minute job into a 2 minute job. Thank you!
You’re a lifesaver! Just saved us $300 during the Christmas season. Just a side note, key fobs don’t fare well in the garbage disposal!
Don’t know why anyone would give this a thumbs down. It was exactly what I needed to know. Thanks!
Thank you so much teacher,, ur video set me free from trouble right now,,, I just came back home with my boss,, and I was trying to handle over the key to him , The eventually felt from my hand,, and scattered,,, after hearing All insults,, to the glory of God,,, I was able to fix it after watching ur video I'm grateful
Thanks for the video! The batteries are replaced opposite each other with a plastic spacer between them.
After watching a couple other videos, yours is the only one with actual detailed info for the stubbornest of key fobs that are determined not to come apart for new batteries! LOL Even the
batteries + and - are detailed in yours, and one other told it wrong, to put the + side up on both.
My 2017 Lincoln MKZ is now ready to roll. THX!
Thank U so much camerateat guy I was stranded with my mom on the street , struggling to get this ford explorer key to work before the streetsweeper workers would come luckily I searched and watched this video and to watch closely to understand how to do fix my key being that it fell and opened
I will say, this key fob has to be one of the most stupidest designs in history. But you sir are a lifesaver and saved me from breaking my 5th one.
Oh man, Ford needs to hire you. Thanks so much for an easy explanation on replacing the fob batteries. Awesome...... well done!
whoever designed this fob should be fired
💯
Yeah dude what the fuq. Batteries with a plastic divider??
Best video explanation. Ford couldn't explain well and the penny trick was awesome! Thank you.
Just had to replace the batteries again in my car and had saved this video from the last time. Can't thank you again for such a clear, easy to follow video.
Thank you. This worked great for my 2015 Ford Edge key. Only video I could find with this specific key. Well done.
Thank you for taking the time and show thousands of us on how to change out the Ford key fob batteries. Your are appreciated.
Thanks so much! .com kept falling apart and I couldn't see that it was the loops that fit over the posts were broken. Well done!
Thank you for you video. If I would have relied on the Ford Dealership to call me back my battery would have been dead. I ordered the batteries on Amazon and I have 2 operating fobs! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your tutorial😊
Thanks from Yuma Az😊👍🏻
Thank you. This is how I figured it was done but I did not want to risk breaking anything. I was not aware that it required two batteries though. This was good to know.
Lifesaver!! Owners manual said to ‘slide and twist’🤷🏼♂️ to open the thing up. Was having no luck at all with that. You can add 2017 Mustang to list of cars this works for. Thanks much!!
First of all.... thank you! There's a 2013-2016 Ford Fusion key fob video out there that shows a different key fob than mine. I definitely have a 2016 model and my key fob is just like this one.
Thank you very much. Very useful. I did it perfect
great video; one thing I would stress as the 2nd battery has to be upside down of the CR2025 letters on the bottom; very important. thank you
Just got the battery warning on the 2nd keyfob of my set of 2, so its time to replace the battery sets for both! Glad I found this video!
This really helped me replace the battery in my 2017 F-150 fob. Thank you for taking the time to make and post.
You're a life saver! Fiddled with it for like 30 minutes and gave up and got the spare out LOL. You rock Dude!
Thanks for this video. It simplified the job of replacing the key fob batteries on my wife's 2016 Ford Edge.
jeez us. thank you. took my fob apart to replace the battery and it just would not go back together. This video showed me the problem and the correct way to do it.
Very helpful. Thanks for sharing. We need more people like you to easily explain tricky things!
this was fantastic!! No way i could figure out how to snap it back in place. thank you so much for making it clear, concise, even for an ol hag like myself it was a "snap" Hilary
Thank you for teaching me how to change my CR2025 battery!
Yes thanks. BTW - I was able do use CR2016 batteries (same specs but thinner and not as long a life) since the contacts are springs and they worked just fine.
alright inserted the top battery other side. Was wondering why it wasn't working until i saw this video. thanksS!
Great video, This worked for my 2016 Ford Fusion Titanium key. The only video that pictured my key! Thank you very much, this video saved me a trip to the Ford dealer$hip & $$$! I got 5 Panasonic CR2025 batteries, shipped to me, in 5 days, cheaper then I could get 2 at my local store. I went this way because I got a "Key Battery Low" warning from my car & I have a second key fob! Thanks for the Coin trick, I couldn't figure out how to get down to the battery until I seen this!
I just did mine and found out you can use CR2032. I have plenty of those at my house because that is what we use for our remote controls and smart home devices.
The battery life on the CR2025 is great. That will be extended with the 2032 because it has more miliamp hours.
Great video... clear and full explanation. One hint: Try to keep your fingers off the batteries or wipe them if you get fingerprints on them. The oils and acids on your fingers can corrode the metal on the batteries.
I damn near rage quit battling this key fob until I stumbled upon this video
I couldn't remote start my 15 Fusion or open the doors. I had to use the door keypad code. The proximity sensor on the dash board told me the key fob battery was dead. I knew how to get the first half apart but wasnt too sure about inside half. Thanks bro.
Didn't know how much I needed this till my battery died and the guys at AutoZone couldn't figure out how to do it. Almost went to a locksmith before I decided to go on RUclips.
Many thanks for taking the time to post this video. Well done.
Have a 2016 Ford Edge, first time replacing batteries, very helpful video 👍👍
I know it’s an old video but thanks for getting to the point FAST.
You just saved me from destroying the key fob with a hammer, thank you
Thanks for the help. Changed both my keys just now.Was very easy.
My car would not move this video helped me thank you so much
Thank you for the most concise and clear video!!
Works perfectly for 2016 Ford Explorer too. And probably others as well. THANK YOU SIR!
You just saved our road trip thank you
I’m honestly gonna fight whoever designed this fob 😤
??? It works well for me
@@tomedgar4375 Mine fell apart in less than a year brand new. Currently held together by duct tape
Great video! I like the way you really explain and show what goes where. Sadly, still can't get our 2 halves back together (final step).
Update: I took everything back apart, and where you explained the 2 loops, I was better sure that they snapped in on the 2 tabs. That was the pivotal thing!
THANK YOU THANK YOU, had 2 fobs broken by auto parts stores that had no idea what they were doing. should of did it on my own!
Dude my key fob broke apart and this video helped me put it back together, thanks!
Dude, your video was terrific! I was a bit hesitant to just pull my remote apart and risk busting something. Thanks for demystifying the process.
Very helpful! Especially when ford dealer suggested me spend 300dollar to get a new key
I was just able to use the CR2032 batteries in the fob. It is slightly tighter, but they will work. That was super convenient for me because we keep those batteries on hand for all of our smart home devices.
The CR2032 has 225 Miliamp Hours as opposed to 170 MAH with the CR2025.
The battery life was great with the 2025, so now I bet I get an extra year out of the batteries.
Great tip thanks!
The cr2032 is .7mm thicker than the cr2025 and will damage your key fob during reassembly. This is not the correct battery to use in your F150!!!
This has helped me twice now! Thank you!!!
Think it did for me too. Not only did I not remember how the fob comes apart, I can’t remember if I watched this video before. It’s well done 👍
Yes, and I never knew there was a hidden Mechanical key! Thanks
Ha! Now try and find out where it goes without researching it first.
@@xjmzrq haha, I never thought about it, just assumed it went in the door keyhole (was there one??), dont know, we already traded it! (Try Changing a Battery in one!!..)
Good job. Enough information to do the job without any extra b.s.
Thanks, helped. I had to use a flathead screwdriver to push one side of the inner plastic part into the side of the outer housing. THEN, it all went fine.
its was very useful and saved my time and money.. God bless you..
Great video thank you! Couldn’t have done it without this review. This ford fob is prob the most pain in the ass complicated ones to change. Not to mention it takes two batteries per remote! SMH
Thanks i ordered a key fob shell for my 2016 Mustang and this helped me swap out the guts
May I ask where you ordered the fob shell from? Hoping somewhere other than dealership.... we all know that would be unreasonably expensive. Thanks so much!!
Thanks to you i don't worry about and wait in the dealer shop. Great, thank you again
Short, sweet and to the point. thanks
It would be helpful if you mentioned the polarity placement of each battery as they are different, as well as mentioning that the white tab should go between the batteries. Can never have to much info.. :)
Yes, because that part is tricky
Quick question, do you think the motherboard from the 2013 Ford Explorer can fit in this style fob? Looking at this video the motherboard looks to be the same shape as the previous key fob. Mine broke and wanted to replace the housing and I like the look of this one better
2nd time I’ve watched this video. First time was 2 years ago, 2nd time today.. it helps if you take a que tip dipped in alcohol to clean all the gunk out too
Awesome. Thanks. I just got a warning on my dash that my battery is low.
Thanks, it worked and followed the steps. It wasn’t difficult what so ever.
Is the white separator necessary? Replacement pod doesn't have one.
Great video. I went to a Ford dealership and they didn't have the battery in stock and had to buy them (it takes two) from an auto supply store, how about that for Ford customer service.
Great video of step by step to replace the batteries in my Key FOB. Thanks.
Thanks, I always forget how to do this when its time to replace the batteries.
Just dropping a thanks again because I forgot again and had to re-watch
Thanks but don’t forget bottom battery is +side up and top battery is + side down
You made this so easy to understand. Many thanks.
Awesome! I fixed it in as quick a time as it took to watch the video.
Just an FYI the CR2032 Batteries work as well!
I panicked when I saw the video because that is what I had already bought, and when I opened the key I found that it already had CR2032's in it.
Thank you good sir! Changing My Explorer Sport's keyfob right now.👊🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🏻
Thanks for posting. Takes some dexterity to replace. Not easy.
Thanks again! From another person that you helped with this great video!
Didn’t realize this was so easy. Thanks.
Thanks, that worked. I have a 2016 Explorer XLT and it did not come with mechanical key.
Thanks. Brought it into auto zone out in 5 minutes.
Excellent, thanks for providing this. The item is expensive so I am glad you showed how, didn't want to spit-ball it; much appreciated.
Two batteries are for different functions? Explain me why key has two contacts?
Thank man! It worked perfectly with my 2015 ford edge. Clear and concise.
Do you need to program it after that?
This was very helpful. Thanks
Thank you so so much for this tutorial!!❤
Thank you for this simple and informative video young man 🤗🤗🤗‼️‼️
Thank you, perfect explanation that Made the battery change easy
Just what I needed. Thanks for posting!
I used a pair of cr2032. It’s very tight lol, I hope the clips will hold
Way better option than taking it to the Ford Dealership. Thank you!
You sir, are a legend. 2015 Lincoln MKC
Ty, great video it was plain and simple and it worked so thanks again.
I also thank you! My husband is too lazy to take care of these things himself LOL OK he works more than I do. Now can you show me where that weird metal key goes!?? No really
It goes on top when you first open it. Look at the 29 second mark.
Thank you for making this video!!!! You saved me!!!!
thanks. wish I would have checked this a while ago
Exactly what I needed. Thank you!
FYI, you can just use 1 edge of the mechanical key to pop out the battery compartment. In the case you don’t have a coin or similar.
