- The guys in the body shop take the main body and components to completion with an awesome 2 tone paint job accomplished by using both gloss and satin clear coats. The 55 will now be moving into the assembly bay to be joined to the Art Morrison chassis.

The difference between 90% perfect and actually perfect takes A LOT or time, patience, skill, work, money. That extra 10% takes 10x the work and costs 10x the money.
Awesome work guys!
That has to be the finest hood in the country, the paint and body work is the finest , top notch shop
Fantastic bodywork paint looks beautiful.

amazing
I've never seen two tone like that I'm building a 1957 belair post it has a black lacquer roof and two tone green I guess it came from the factory lik that or it was done a long time ago the roof had some hail damage on the roof they used lead to fill the dents someone told me that the factory did that they said it wasn't hail damage they took the car off the asymbaly line to paint black cars and they filled imperfections in the body with lead tha 55 looks stellar with the same color but different contrast thank you for sharing
Great video I had to watch it again I think when I get to my 53 Chevy belair I will be doing this I'm going to go with rootbeer brown metallic then two tone it with the flat and the gloss clearcoat that 55 is going to win a lot of trophies its grea to see someone do something different with these cars everyone has a normal color on ther try5s it gets boring after a while seeing 15 cars the same color your paint work it taking it to a hole new level
wow, flawless looking paint work, guys! Absolutely beautiful '55
It's impossible for a video to quantify that level of work! Fantastic Job, and that is coming from someone who does paintwork like this day in and day out!!
Thanks Aaron, really appreciate it.

I'm from Brazil, i'm rebuilding a 52 CHevy Styleline by myself (no experience in painting before) I get a lot of hints with you guys! Tks for sharing your job! Congrats!
Glad you are watching all the way in Brazil and getting some tips!
That’s going to be AMAZING! Love the two tone idea.
Thanks!! We are loving the 2 tone as well.
That’s plain beautiful.
That certainly is some fantastic workmanship. Stunning.
Pro trick : you can watch movies on Flixzone. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
@Wells Kian yea, I've been watching on Flixzone for years myself :)
@Wells Kian Yup, I have been using Flixzone for since november myself :D
That is one great paint job like the two tone
That's a nice contrast, flat black with glossy black. That's just my thoughts. I'm sure that you'll get that right also.
Good luck! I had a '55 210 2dr sedan and a '55 2dr hardtop (not a Bel Aire) , until then I didn't know that a 210 2dr hardtop was a thing.
I had a few cars on my bucket list but I only had the two '55s, one '57 2dr Bel Aire hardtop, hey I also had a '64 Chevelle SS, yes a true one. Metallic very green with a white interior, m-20 4speed trans, I've been told that trans wasn't offered in that year model, but there it was. I bought it from the original owner.
Fully equipped with a 284ci dual exhaust and 2-4bbl AFB Carters, hey it was also equipped with #6 piston rod hanging out of the side of the engine!!!! , HAA-HAA!!! I got a running 327ci swapped all that would fit, the manifold with the 2 AFB's worked, l didn't think they would, but there it was.
Got it running and was driving it with a tag I bought with my name registered and fully legal, hey 1969 with gas at 0.15 cents a gallon and my Grandad the owner of the local Parade gas station (HL Hunt) ! Now I didn't get the gasoline free, I was working , not quite 16yrs old yet, but I still drove. This is the state of Alabama, it was expected. 😁😆👍
I sold that car 'cause Dad caught me up near 90mph! Passed by him with those dual- exhaust ROARING.
I thought I was going to get my arse handed to me, but he just made me sell it , and he kept the money, he used it to buy my next ride, a '65 40horse VW Beetle, he and I bonded. We had to build the
engine, and I had to keep it running on my own. I've got a bunch of stories about my upbringing !
COULD WRITE A BOOK , probably a
Dramedy !
Look'g good, waiting to see the finished project. Be safe all. Peace.🇺🇸
Loved It!
INCREDIBLE JOB!!
Amazing work👌👌👌. I’m already waiting for the next vid 😜. Hi from Sweden 👋🏻🇸🇪
Thanks Kenneth, and thanks for watching in Sweden!!
That's my dream car!, look after her boy's..
that looks amazing! With that combo I think everything that would normally be chromed should now have a brushed aluminum finish . What do you think?
The chrome will be under going Cerakote...it will match the center of the wheels.
Fantastic 👌 work 👏 guys !! 2 questions please? do you bake the paint and is the car just for showing or will it be driven.. thanks 😊 😁 and stay safe..
David...thanks! Yes, we bake the paint in our booth. Our customer is itching for the 55 to be done, and has full intentions of driving it.
@@metalworksclassicautoresto9583 thank you 😊
Looks amazing.
May ask what your process was before the reclearing? 600, wet 800 then reclear? These videos really help
For the satin clear we sanded with 320, for the gloss clear we used 600. Thanks for watching!!
@@metalworksclassicautoresto9583 Thank you so much
please tell me were you buy a second set of lungs but we have ear plugs . Last time i opened anything in the paint shop none of it said on the label that you can eat it or drink it.But nice work.
Круто!
The 55 looks great can’t wait to see it done are you going to post how much money it would cost to build it
The Chevelle had a 283ci engine, just to clarify.
👍✌❤
What grit were they using prior to the clear coat?
We finished our primer with 500 wet, then base coat, then clear. For the satin clear we used 320.
