The detail work the your crew does on every aspect of the build is incredible, from creating, fabrication, paint, assembly and finish work is so methodical and well done!

Amazing job ! - May I ask :- What is the colour you used - The name of the beautiful Green ? - Is it a Metallic ? -The reason I ask is in the 90's - Rover teamed up with another company - And developed some crappy little town cars - Looking just like every other car of that era ! But the one blessing that came out of that collaboration was the colours :- one was a Metallic Blue - name unknown ? - But the other was a Metallic Green called "Kensington Green" it was such beautiful deep green and with it having that metallic blend - mix - When the sunshine hit the bodywork it lit the green up ? - It realky bound back at you - Beautiful ! - I had noticed back then that some Range Rovers started sporting this "Kensington green metallic" finish whether it was a option - Or the customers opted to buy that finish I don't know - This green you used is very similar ? And looks fantastic when you added the silver two tone ! - Well done men ! - SB - British Isles
Hi SB - thanks for your comment. The green does have metallic flake, and was a custom mix in BASF Glasurit. We love the greens used on many British cars and trucks, but alas, they were not the inspiration for this one. Thanks for watching!
@12:23 the painter mentions a black guide coat for wet sanding, is it a black kind of primer coat over the finished color and clear coats? I am trying to understand the sanding and paint process, I worked in body shop over 40 years ago when it was just lacquer paints, candy colors and clears! Thanks in advance, btw you guys build such sick well executed machines, whether they are a driver or a build that is Ridler worthy they are meticulous and so well done!
Hi Andrew, thanks! We use guide coats for sanding at multiple stages of the bodywork (spray poly, clear, etc.) to make sure we've removed any sand scratches in the surface that may have been introduced during the sanding process. In this video, Dan is talking about a guide coat goes that over the clear, and is to show where the paint has/has not been wet sanded. The guide coat is completely removed during the wet sanding process. You can see an example at 11:17 where two panels have the guide coat, and then again at 11:21 where Travis has wet sanded a panel with one stage of sandpaper and in doing so, has removed the guide coat.

Given the man power and vast amount of materials I see why custum paint jobs may exceed 20k.

What psi are you shooting your base coat at with the sata 5000
That music tho,love it!
Big dollar paint
I can't help but wonder if that car came from IN and had a six calendar three on the tree??
This video without the music would be mint.
How much dose it coast for this great work?
Why don’t you wet sand with longer blocks? Just curios
Now, I presume this is the official Chevrolet music score played in the factory in 1956? (Just to keep everyone from going insane)
i once went to a classic car place and asked how much they charge to paint cars.... the cost was 10,000 atleast and I seeeeeee whyyyyyyy
The paint really seams to be flowing good out of your gun. What brand of gun do you use?
Generally SATA

Thank you for the reply! That makes a great deal of sense. using that technique to ensure a completely smooth glass like finished surface.
What would this cost?
How many coats clear did you apply. Like
Probably 3 since he did all that sanding. You gotta leave yourself some room for error so you don't sand through to the color coat.
One would like to know what is the labor cost on doing something like that
Joe Emanuele 25k minimum, probably closer to 50k though

Shiit...
Back sound not niceee.. why not slowly 😢
What is it with this sanding and baffing !! If the spray boot is nice and clean and no dust on the car just leave it alone.
Are you kidding?
