@@patdesrosiers6423 not meaning to insult. I'm a true die hard Mopar guy, since I started building my "57 D100 in the early 80's. Pretty much all I drove were Mopars. But the enthusiasm. I'm at the age, I don't care, two door, four door. Post or hard top. But seeing a women excited for a project car. That's over the top. Enjoy your project.
I was drawn to the 55 in Cadillac and Chevy's that 1 year said a lot to me as a young kid..and it never changed for me it has been a constant thru my life and all of the car shows that I have been to in my 62 years....55 is the 1 year.....that is like a magnet.....I can't get enough of the 55
My family had a 1955 210 4 door in blue with a white top from 1981-85. It became my first car in the summer of 1983 when I got my license. Mine had a 6 cylinder with a 3 speed manual.
yep..i'd rather have a 2 door, but it's a 4 door, and it's fine...and please leave the 4 doors a 4 door..none of that 4-door-to 2-door conversion cr*p, at least not the butchery with piecing together door parts to fill the void and putting in plexiglass rear quarter windows that don't even roll down...if your going to do it at all, at least have a 2 door VIN(body change), a set of proper 2 door doors, and a donor car to get the proper rear quarter window parts and structure from..better yet, just leave it a 4 door..I remember back in the day, a common thing people did with tri-five 4 doors was to shorten it, cut it behind the front doors and weld the rear end on after removing the section behind the front doors to the rear window...a "shorty"...yuck...what a butchery mess, looked much better as a 4 door...
Still cant stomach a four door on a tri 5 .. ...however, i DO like the fourdoor flattops of 59,60, GM's with the giant fishbowl rear glass!..those are pretty cool ( i actually bought a four door flattop 60 belar ) 🤣
@@filthbomb I agree with you about the 4 door "flat tops" on the '59-'60..the were 4 door hardtops(pillarless)..looked FAR better than the 4 door sedans with all their framing and the extra little quarter windows...and yes, the tri-five 4 door sedans look "framey" as well as the 59-60's...again, the '56-'57 4 door(pillarless) hardtops look FAR better than the 4 door sedans with all that framework..unfortunately, they didn't make a factory 4 door hardtop in '55..has less to do with how many doors there are, really, than it has to do with all that thick, vertical framework that upsets the flowing lines of the styling..actually, I am not that fond of a 2-door sedan in the tri-fives, or the '59-'60 for the same reasons..plus, the roof and windshield are "taller" on the sedans, both 2 door and 4 door. Interestingly, the unique one-year only styling of the '58 suited the sedans much better...less framework, and it worked with the styling better. Ima grown man but I get all excited like your son when I go inside a good junk yard it's like a toy store to me 😂😂😂 that 55 4 door is sweet great find 👍😎
When I got out of the army 1976 I bought a 55 Chev 4 door, 6 with a three speed, same color and everything.... bought it from a school teacher for $250 drove it for about 4 years.
KEEP THE 3 on the tree!!! Adjust it right and bang shift like nobody’s business! Would take some major mods to work with truck 3 speed. That trans won’t take hp. But who needs to row around town in a classic when the column shift drives so good? They’ve never been sexy but work real good when setup with the right amount of slop. You could make them cool!
So good to see your son following your passion for saving old cars ....I've been in the panel and paint industry for 30yrs in Australia....I wish I had kept all my old cars .....I would of bought that 55 4 door straight away...
I hate seeing cars burried in the woods like that and rotting. The golf cart makes sense as a project. Cheap, easy and practical to work on, as a kid. That C50 is clean.
Awesome find on the 55 I believe I wouldn't do what needs to be done and get that 6 cylinder running and drive it !! Great video and keep up the great job GOD BLESS
Omg David, what a beautiful 55 chevy I love everything about the old girl!!! I can't wait to see what you do with your new 68 c50 car hauller!!!! Keep up all the great work Thanks Mike
Hey Dave, Great find on the 55. Also, the truck. I know the 55 is in good hands, not to mention the 68 truck. Can't wait for the follow up on both. You can always give Dan from DD Speed Shop a call to convert the 55 from a four door to a two door. Love your channel and videos. Take care and be safe.
The 55 4 door is a sweet find - thing is MINT. I love the color. I'd daily the health out of that thing. Wouldn't you love to drive that to church on Sunday? three peddles, it wants a muncie! That C50 is a ramp truck waiting to be completed :) So glad you snagged it. Thought y'all were gonna leave with the 55 after looking at it. Please tell me y'all got those frames.
Its amazing cars like that are still available out there. What an amazing find. Thanks David for sharing this view of an ever shrinking Americana and i am so happy your passion is in this era of cars. That truck has the small 67 c10 type back window. Cant wait to see what you do with it. 👍👍👍✌
I just found 3 56's here in Texas. Worked out a deal for 1 2door Bel Air and 2 4doors with two containers full of parts. Enough to make two cars! Cool to see another one saved!

I'm about to take delivery of my Grandfathers 57 4 door 210 post. Almost the same color scheme you have there. Mine needs some love and attention too but, im right there with you on feeling that stoke. what a fun family project!
You made two good purchases. If the floorboards and frame are solid in the 55 you can have it highway ready quickly and for not a lot of money. Get it running and drive the wheels off it while the weather is nice. You can make it pretty over the winter.
Great strategy. bring your friends to the junkyard and hopefully they buy stuff. You still get to save them old cars but don't have to pay for them😂😂 win win win
That's one heck of a 4 door 55. It's hard to find them like that. I'm building a 55 4 door 210 for my wife on my channel but trying to finish my hardtop first. I sure would like to go on a junkyard crawl with you sometime. I'm trifive to the bone
