- Hi there,
In this video I show you how to rebuild ZTR or rider mower deck idler/tension pulleys for $3.00 or less.

Parts needed:
Bearing 6203-2RS

Thanks for watching!
Really helpful vid. My bota ztr goes thru idlers like candy. I usually have to replace 2-3 every season. At $17 ish per I get annoyed. They use a slightly different construction but the technique you’ve showed will let me rebuild if I choose to. Many thanks for a very worthwhile vid!
Great job and good information Broncocarl92!!! One question I have though... Does incorporating the six screws w/nuts and lock washers throw off the balance of the idler pulley? With the ultra speed these things rotate at, did not know if this was a concern and would lead to deck vibration. Any comments you can offer are appreciated. Thanks, William
A lot of work to save the cost of new. Love the idea though. I just did my idler pulleys today. I popped off one side of the bearing seal, cleaned and repacked er, reassembled and we're good to go.
Those idler pulleys are now made from one piece. At least Toro spareparts send me one piece version?
Yeah i just found that out.
I have a Z Master G3 48” and need to replace the pump idler assembly pulley. Can it not be rebuilt? It does appear to be one piece as you said.
Awesome vid man!
I never clean my deck...I’ve not replaced a bearing in 5 years...
Hello Bronoccarl92, enlightening video. I will definitely give this a try. I am going to buy a replacement set of idlers to put on the deck now, and then add new bearings to the idlers I take off. I will always have a set read to go. Cheers,John
Exactly why I did this!
Nice shop bro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
