The Glashütte Pano Reserve had me literally stopping breathing in admiration: an absolutely gorgeous piece with a degree of finishing that greatly surpasses anything I've seen so far at this price point. It's instantly become my grail.

Can my A. Lange & Söhne itch be scratched by another company? Definitely not. BUT as someone who doesn't have a huge disposable income, I'll definitely go for Glashutte Original Senator.
My neighbour spends 3000 on her cat and owns a lambo. One day she left the door open and the cat was flattened by a garbage truck. I think the nomos is a good watch...
I’ve acquired a few new pieces within the last couple of months. The last two visits to my ad I found myself admiring the Glashutte pieces Immensely. I will likely purchase a Lange 1 eventually but I would be more than happy to also own one of the beautiful Glashutte offerings.

Am I the only one that is way to far off the 14k£ first Lange in this video but still tempted enough to call it a consideration at least? Sure, its double the bigdate Glashütte Original - but its still a Lange. A damn beautiful classic one. For my 40th.
Yes watches are crazy - you look at a 25K watch and think, "hmm.. that seems fair" - and then you realize you could buy a Porsche for the same money or put a deposit down on a home!
What I like is that the recommendations are fine choices. This is not a where to buy a cheap copy video. These are fine watches. I own a Nomos and a watch from GO is my next goal. I woud love A. Lange, but a house is more practical for me.
I must be truly perverse. I had decided to buy a Lange Große 1, but, when I came to do it, I saw the Panoreserve in blue -- and I preferred it. I preferred the harmony of the dial, but even more I preferred the coplanar big date implementation. Once you have seen the fact that the two numbers on the Lange date are not in the same plane, you cannot "unsee" it. The good news is that, with the "saving" I made I bought another GO, a Zenith, a Nomos, and a Moser. I now have seven watches from the small town of Glashütte, but still no Lange. One day soon -- but it will have to be a "no date" or a "hand date" model.
I would live to own an A. Lange & Söhne, but I can't afford one. Liked that the alternatives are also German made watches; good German made watches for that sake too
I completely sympathize with your comment about Lange & Sohne being out of reach but greatly desired. These three definitely were more affordable options, particularly the Nomos. But the Glashutte Original watches did give the design of the Lange's shown competition in design. In fact, the 2nd watch, I found the GO dial to be a bit less busy and more balanced in design than the Lange. Even the 3rd GO I found to be a bit more appealing. I've also eyed the Muhle Glashutte watches in addition to the Nomos and the Glashutte Originals. Some really fine watches coming from German watchmakers.
I think a more fair comparison to the Saxonia Ultra-Thin is the D. Dornblüth & Sohn Kal. 99.1 which retails for just over US$4000. These watches are completely hand built from the ground up by a father and son team in the small town of Kalbe, just outside of Dresden. The quality of hand craftsmanship is quite incredible for the price.

Eh. Could be the other way around too you know? You buy the alternative and realize in a couple weeks it was never really your style. Has happened to me more than once; bought the watch i wanted to and realized wasn't into it after all. PLUS, you'd baby the ALS. What's the point of an Uber expensive watch you never get to truly wear and enjoy. To each their own though.
@@stritlit Also... I thought I wanted a sub, but wasn't sure. So I bought a homage watch to wear for a while. I love it, and wear it all the time. I no longer feel the need to own a sub, as the watch I have fits the bill for a fraction of the cost. This could happen here as well. You buy the less expensive option, only to find out you like it just as much as you would the higher priced watch.
This is why I love the Watchfinder videos: making the unobtainable obtainable! More new watches come over the horizon here than from any other video producer I know. Great stuff, THANK YOU!
I tried on a panoreserve today, oh wow what a watch, it is everything you hope it will be, it’s my attainable grail watch and like I say it’s everything I hoped it would be. Been looking at both these watch makers so I thank you for showing them. The main problem with these guys is how had it is to see them first hand at a dealer.
The GO Pano actually has the nicer dial design, IMHO, especially with the moonphase. The big date may even be objectively better conceived - without that middle ridge...
How I also want an A. Lange & Söhne. What happened to the last phrase that I almost hate to hear because it means the video ends "Find more exceptional watches at watchfinder.com"

That glashutte orig. but with the moon phase I was looking at it recently and was really stunned like wow this is a beautiful beatiful watch. When I saw the price was less than 12,500 American dollars I was blown away. It reminds me of Today’s Tudor watches. Most ppl think if that’s a cheap version of rolex, but then when you hold and wear a BB, especially the bronze ones you realize wow this is, all on its own, an incredible watch. Better than a sub to me honestly.
You can judge me for posting about a sub 1000 dollar watch here but the Sugess moonphase master is a super cheap but still fully functional chrono that imo looks great and has the “vibe” of the 1815. Theres a guilloche version and an enamel version with lume. It uses st1908 which uses the ty2528 gears for moonphase and a date pointer as well which for me makes it the most useful and most good looking watch i own.
You'd get a better watch with the Glashutte Original. You can check the catalogue. Rolex is Luxury Horology and GO is Entry Level High Horology. And pre-owned they're even some in your price range. But I would take the Rolex over the Nomos.
Glashutte is one of the most underrated watch brands. I love my Lange 1 but the pano moon is definitely on my list just waiting for the updated movement with a longer reserve.
I have to say this is my favorite watch channel. Every detail from the shots to the dialogue is as immaculate as the hand work on the as the Lange 1

This is why I love the Watchfinder videos: making the unobtainable obtainable! More new watches come over the horizon here than from any other video producer I know. Great stuff, THANK YOU!
GO is getting better & better...... they are not far behide.
you see a Glashutte orig alone... and it's AMAZING. Then you see a Lange and... well... everything else just falls apart
I am curious how will you feel after seeing a Lang & Heyne 😁.
@footballcoreano It's a different brand.
I love how dramatic you are. Really adds the extráñese this watch deserves 👌🏾
Oh my gosh, an A. Lange & Sohne video on Watchfinder, how different!
I tried on a panoreserve today, oh wow what a watch, it is everything you hope it will be, it’s my attainable grail watch and like I say it’s everything I hoped it would be. I have a long term plan for my ultimate grail, an ALS, some investments but those are long term, I shall enjoy the panoreserve in the meantime.
I loved this video. Very funny and tasteful jokes. My favourite watchfinder video yet.
Glashütte is like deciding that toro Rosso is a Great car and team to just like Red Bull. Both are fast but Red Bull has the expensive cars 🚗:)
Been looking at both these watch makers so I thank you for showing them. The main problem with these guys is how had it is to see them first hand at a dealer.
Nomos is great.. so nice
The GO Pano actually has the nicer dial design, IMHO, especially with the moonphase. The big date may even be objectively better conceived - without that middle ridge...
Love to see some chronoswiss reviews, especially a regulator or the sirus retrograde chronograph
How I also want an A. Lange & Söhne. What happened to the last phrase that I almost hate to hear because it means the video ends "Find more exceptional watches at watchfinder.com"
The 1815 Chronograph is the most beautiful watch in the world.
glashutte panoreserve is stunning and wins hands down! and a beautifully crafted episode as always!! Thanks for the ride!
I love your videos, the way you speak about the watches is the best, I’ve learned so much, thank you
Nomos deserve more love
What I got from this is that Glashutte Original is the Tudor version of A Lange and Sohne
I wouldn't agree with you. GO has no less innovative functions or mechanisms than Lange.
@@leyay7540 and the price difference/ fit and finish aren't far apart too . The Rolex / Tudor price difference is miles apart while the finish is close to a Rolex
Lange and Glashütte Original share a parking lot as well. They're literally next door to each other and they share the a vocational watchmaker school and museum. Quite awesome
Hahaha. "As German as a bratwurst wearing lederhosen ,turning up on time". Superb. Which watch? The difference between robbing a bank or robbing a corner shop to get the dosh. The hell with it , I'm off to rob a bank.
The 2 German brands that remind me so much of each other is Tutima & Hanhart.......especially the pilot watches.
Just saw my first Tutima a week ago down in Scottsdale. Gorgeous watch. A fellow sitting the table beside me at beakfast in the hotel was sporting one. I only noticed the Flieger style and asked him what it was. He seemed rather flattered that I noticed. It's now on my list too.
... as german as a bratwurst wearing lederhosen ... totally love it. greetings from germany ;-)
It’s crazy how the Langes manage to make just about everything you put next to it look way cheaper.
Not everything, just check Lang & Heyne or Moritz Grossmann.
@@leyay7540 You're right, just like many Credor watches or something from F.P. Journe. I was just exaggerating because I had seen the watches from the video before and they looked amazing by themselves, until you put the Lange next to them
@@jose7777777777777777 Yep, considering the details and finishing, some independents are a notch above Lange.
Buying a watch to settle means it will remind you every day that you wanted a better one.
Glashutte Chronograph looked far more aesthetically pleasing than A Lange & Sohne one.
Thanks for sharing the alternatives
Nomos looks a good choice 👍🏻 too.
I actually prefer the GO to the Lange 1 aesthetically, and the date function is far superior in its execution.
That 1815 chronograph....
Glashutte Panoreserve is just so gorgeous!
I got myself this Nomos and an AL&S (used from chrono) yesterday. Thought I was going to be in trouble with my other half but she just said that I shouldn’tfeelguilty about doing things for myself once in a while and not to go crazy
Yeah that Pano is quite a piece. Good enough to not give you a constant mental reminder that you simply don’t make the cut for a Lange. I’ll be looking into the Pano. Thanks for the excellent video. 👍🏼
Best watch videos on youtube , by far.
It's been 2 hrs and I'm still giggling over the line "as German as a bratwurst in lederhosen"!
I have that exact Nomos. It’s one of my favourites.
ouch is that a notch on the saxonia's dial
*swipes screen
my bad ...
So did you finally get your A. Lange & Söhne ?
Watchfinder is paying the Nija only in Pringles, Cola and a bit LSD, so no. 😀
"It's as German as a bratwurst wearing lederhosen" ... lol ... Love that line.
I am saving up for a Rolex OP, should I sepnd that money on a Glashutte, or Nomos instead?
You'd get a better watch with the Glashutte Original. You can check the catalogue. Rolex is Luxury Horology and GO is Entry Level High Horology. And pre-owned they're even some in your price range. But I would take the Rolex over the Nomos.
Outstanding!
Glashutte is one of the most underrated watch brands. I love my Lange 1 but the pano moon is definitely on my list just waiting for the updated movement with a longer reserve.
