My least favorite style of watches, it’s just dress watches with THAT amount of “restraint” is too subtle for my senses. But Vacheron dial is something special. I would chose Vacheron out of them 3. Patek second, and zi germans take third.
Agreed that dial is just stunning and that's my favourite rose engine design to boot but the lange beats the patek for me personally. I'm not really drawn to minimal design dress watches I'm more breguet classique engraved dials and blued hands 👌
I come to a channel for an interesting videoabout watches, I finish that video, I enjoy it, and in the end I go. But then I come to watchfinder and I find: a crystal clear storytelling, a calming tone of voice, simple but wonderful shots that really emphasize the focus on the watch, and here and there some pieces of horological history... Well, in the end, I stay.
The dial of the Vacheron Constantin is so-out-of-this-universe! Probably the deepest optical zoom watchfinder ever applied to a detail. And it´s still perfect!
If I was parting with my money for these gorgeous watches it would be 1. ALS there’s just something so desirable it can’t be explained. 2. VC, that dial, of that dial 3. PP it’s gorgeous but the other two just have more character to me.
No need to say “most finest”. Just “finest”. Thought I’d just give that free English lesson despite it potentially making me look like a dick. No need to thank me.
This review came in good time. I was deciding between the Lange, PP and VC last month. After much research and seeing them in person, I went with this particular VC and couldn't be happier. Worth noting that the VC guilloche dial is also 18k gold. I may be biased but my preference would be in the order of: 1. VC (Yup the dial, movement, finishing, history) 2. Lange (I still preferred a Manual wound Lange and that's where it shines) 3. PP (Never a fan of their dials but I do like PP's movement)
For me it's the A.L&S, the dial reflects light like smooth silk and the movement on the back is just perfect in my opinion. The other watches are great of course, but the A.L&S takes the crown here imo
Tom The Fish FP Journe makes 900 watches per year., Debuthune make 150, MB&F in the low double digits, same with LF. We are talking apples to oranges. The level of artisanal skill required to make 50,000 (Patek) or even 30,000 (AP) watches is astronomical. The independents are amazing but it’s like comparing small batch chips to Doritos. Somehow you can’t stop eating the Doritos. The financial backing of both AP and Patek is strong. The independents operate on a shoestring budget. They are much more vulnerable than the big guys. Any market turn will be the end of them. That’s why so few stay independent. Like FP Journe (20% owned by Channel). And I don’t blame them for seeking help. Out of the three, it is the Vacheron I find the most aesthetically pleasing. Incidentally, Vacheron guarantee they will repair your watch, whatever the year it was made. You can pass it down to your son or daughter and rest assured he or she will be able to enjoy it when the time comes. I chose a VC Patrimony in white gold.
Very slick of you Watchfinder. I initially fell under your spell and was amazed by the description of the three watches. Then, after stepping back it hit me. You just re-defined the Holy Trinity without saying a word. The fact that you grouped these three watches on the same plain says it all. I was left contemplating purchasing all three amazing watches for all of the aforementioned reasons. Let the age old debate be settled after today! Well played my friend, well played!
If I could pick just one brand for my entire collection, I’d pick Vacheron. Love both the others, but VC has such gorgeous watches across the board. The Historiques and Overseas lines are both amazing, and the Traditionelle line has some gems too.
@@misteratoz great picks, Lange has a solid lineup too. I’ve never been a big zeitwerk fan, but the entire Lange 1 line has some of the best dial design. I like Richard Lange and 1815s more than saxonias in general but also wonderful pieces. I’m also totally in love with the odysseus. Complicated lange like double and triple split chronographs are masterpieces
The main issue with A. Lange watches lies in their servicing. I purchased a Saxonia (105.025) in the late 90s and had it serviced twice by a professional who wasn't authorized, as there were few authorized dealers in my area at that time, 20 years ago. When the Lange boutique opened near my town a few years ago, I decided to have the watch serviced there. After a 2-month wait, I received a quote for 4000 Euro because they stated that since the watch had been serviced by a third party, they needed to replace the parts, and the regular repair fee did not apply. I own watches from AP, Rolex, Patek, and Piaget, some of which have been in my family for over 50 years. When brought in for service, none of them have cost more than 2000 Euro to service or repair. While I'm willing to pay more for quality watches, charging 4000 Euro to repair a perfectly functional timepiece (which was purchased for 12,000 Euro) is unreasonable. It feels like an attempt to extract excessive money from customers through after-sales service. I've also heard similar horror stories from others who were charged 5000 Euro to service a Lange 1. Frankly, I hope A. Lange will reconsider their service policy. Meanwhile, I'll avoid their services and caution others against getting trapped in a similar situation to mine.
Instantly happy when I saw a new video from Watchfinder & Co. Love the narration, quality of the shots and learning more about the history of timepieces!
The Vacheron is beautiful in the details with beautiful fine finishing of the movement along with top tier case, dial, and hands. Lange has always had great cases, dials, and hands as well. Their approach to the movement focuses on a striking display back with the gold chatons, plate material, and blued screws.
VC has a special place in my heart (particularly the Patrimony line)- the blood races a little when I see the VC cross. Recently, I've taken a mistress in the Lange, though I can't decide if I like the Saxonia line or Lange 1 line better. When the Patek walks by, I will definitely lower my sunglasses and take a long look as it walks away... phew!
I think it's a very underrated brand, as ridiculous as it may sound. I see a lot of people saying that VC doesn't deserve to be a part of the Holy Trinity, but I think they deserve more than any other brand. No single watch gets all the attention there, everything from the Overseas to the American 1921 is equally important. Geneva Seal all around. And the brand doesn't force buyers to get the most expensive versions of a new watch by releasing the previous metals first. No, steel is released first or at the same time as the other metals. Such a good brand. Deserves a lot more love.
Out of these 3 watchmakers I'd in 99% of situations choose A. Lange & Söhne just as the next guy. But for that dial Vacheron Constanin is the clear winner for me and the example of the 1%. I also think that a proper watch is hand-wound so that gives it some extra credit while I also really dislike the date windows so that's what disqualifies the Patek Philippe for me
I love all three, but I feel that the Saxonia Thin is more in this realm than the Saxonia. If I had the cash to choose any of these, I'd put it toward the Saxonia Thin.
A. Lange & Sohne is not at the level of AP nor should it be considered. A. Lange & Sohne are a new revival brand and they have a ways to go before they can be part of the prestige given to the other brands. Even Rolex and JLC do not get included and they make fantastic sports and dress watches.
@@bighands69 agreed, the real holy trinity should probably be Patek, VC, and JLC - I’d prefer Breguet, but the holy trinity is really meant for Swiss watches anyway

Lange & Sohne is a rival brand with the highest quality in watch making and hopefully they keep growing slowly and gently.
ALS may not have the history like Patek, but they definitely have similar pedigree. One great example of a movement they themselves developed that Patek, to my knowledge, has not is the Zeitwerk and Triple Split movements. Especially the Zeitwerk.
Agreed. Audemars only really has the Royal Oak (and its variants) at this point. They've killed off most of their historical lines. Either JLC, Lange, or Breguet should take the spot.
@@flyingphoenix113 with all due respect to Breguet and JLC but A. Lange & Söhne had already taken the spot... I mean look at the Datograph Perpetual , it's the best watch on sale today according to many watch connoisseurs.
@@raedsakly2463, a Trinity spot in the 21st century has to be taken by a cohesive brand, not just a single watch lineup/series. The only reason they got the spot in the first place is because of just how influential the Royal Oak has been).

The Vacheron, going away. The guilloche is sooo crisp. Amazing. The back of the Lange looks better than the front. Cold and sparse. On the other hand, the Patek looks overwrought. 3 tracks of indices??? Annoying! The level of craft in all 3: a joy.
I have all three of these in my collection and where them with equanimity. I love the Lange for weekends. The Calatrava was the oldest acquisition, probably 1995 or so. The VC and the Lange have been added within the last ten years. Of the several Vacherons in my collection, including a stunning rose-gold Cornes de Vache, it’s the one in this video that I wear most often. Stunning is indeed the word.
There's hardly a chance I'd be able to afford most of the watches in these videos, but I come back each time for the sheer joy of hearing what Watchfinder has to say about the watches, the way the watches are presented visually as well as the exceptional description and analogous explanation is probably the best I have ever heard in any product show. Kudos to you guys! You make truly stunning videos and your story behind the watch just fascinates me every time... maybe one day, I'll own one of these, for now My Seiko is handy enough 😁
Also, thanks for reminding us that the guilloche dial is not the sole property of Czapek and Cie (Quai des Bergues)!! That rose engine turning is mesmerizing. VC always surprises me.
You asked to name the brands we want to see featured? For me it's VC, Patek and Lange. So i think, this video is perfect for my taste. This 3 watches are soooooo beautiful 👍😃😃🤩

VC traditionell ...my heart melts instantly
Your passion and attention to details for the watch had me in tears.
a strip of platinum as rotor weight... such luxurious yet german thing to do
without a doubt with the long and storied history, the Vacheron Constantin should be at the top of the holy trinity.
PP for me. Love the simplicity!
I love them all for different reasons
There's hardly a chance I'd be able to afford most of the watches in these videos, but I come back each time for the sheer joy of hearing what Watchfinder has to say about the watches, the way the watches are presented visually as well as the exceptional description and analogous explanation is probably the best I have ever heard in any product show. Kudos to you guys! You make truly stunning videos and your story behind the watch just fascinates me every time... maybe one day, I'll own one of these, for now My Seiko is handy enough 😁
Its like choosing between Miss World, Miss Universe and one of the Victoria Secret models...
Well, that's easy - Victoria's Secret without a second of hesitation. Not sure about these three watches.
Hah! Good one!)))
@@thenewexeptor have you seen Victoria Secret recently?! lol
The dial on the Vacheron does it for me but nobody gussy’s up a movement like A Lange & söhne. The intricacy and detail takes my breathe away
this Vacheron Constantin's piest of art is PERFECT
Can I denounce Watchfinder for posting pornography?
That VC is just the best but I still would buy the Lange lol
I'm crosseyed now from that VC Dial, wow just incredible work......
Vacherom dial micro-shot of guilloché is overwhelming beauty👌🏻
Also, thanks for reminding us that the guilloche dial is not the sole property of Czapek and Cie (Quai des Bergues)!! That rose engine turning is mesmerizing. VC always surprises me.
That Vacheron is lovely! My favorite of the trio!
Lange , the first ... ♥️
That Vacheron is so beautiful, I must admit ...
You asked to name the brands we want to see featured? For me it's VC, Patek and Lange. So i think, this video is perfect for my taste. This 3 watches are soooooo beautiful 👍😃😃🤩
Am more of a Lange person but this VC is out of this world!
Lange is always slightly ahead of the curve
All are amazing but my pick is the ALS of course. VC over the Patek but I would certainly wouldn’t mind having any of them :)
if you’re going to shorten the name, please call it Lange and not ALS...
Honestly in this situation I say the patek and vacheron have to much gong on. As always the German takes the simple approach and executes it perfectly
I couldn't agree with you more and for this reason, the ALS is my grail watch. It executes everything absolutely perfectly
I love your reviews and the
Photography and videography is fantastic. Thank you
Yeah the Lange and Vacheron got the Patek beat in this one I think
These three watches... Simplicity in its dazzling beauty !
That VC’s dial is so gorgeous that it ends my anxiety...
It's amazing to find out more about how watches work but what I find truly valuable is how this channel inspires me to strive for more perfection in my own endeavours no matter how trivial they might be.
I usually prefer Lange, but that VC's dial had me this time..
That Lagne has one of the best movements I've ever seen for a watch like this. I enjoy it.
When he called the Saxonia the “SUV of the bunch” I laughed out loud hahaha
Great review as per.... I love all three but the VC stole it for me, the dial is exquisite
I got the chance to try on that VC in Mall of Emirates Dubai and it really is the perfect watch.
I really don't know how or why, but I feel that the A lange und söhne has something really special to it.
