I think Sadhguru meant that there is nothing right or wrong about it but one must take the decision consciously and not compulsively taking into account all the possible consequences.

Yes, but I would be more happier if he was direct and plain in his answer, he was diplomatic!
@@lindaherbert3942 direct answer is kin of controversial
if you said this to sadhguru , he would come up again starting with ... " see....etc" never answering the question.
He gave the answer in the first part and points to the issues of today's societies and that we have to address them.
Not that difficult to understand.
The one thing I liked is how sadhguru said there's no right and wrong about sexuality, it's about the perspective that leads to it and we should discuss how and not why
but he didn't answer the question. What he said we all know. What everyone wanted to know was his percepective. He escaped the difficult question answering with more questions.

I just wanna say there are alot of womans out here who were virgin before marriage and still cheats her husband and misbehave with her in laws and there are still girls got cheated by their exs and still be a good wife nd daughter in law in future same goes for the men so I guess saying impure will be a rude word in my opinion
One of the more important things Sadhguru said here is regarding how the initial euphoria of attraction always eventually comes back to normal and the goddess or god you thought the other person was, starts to appear as the faulty human we all are most of the time. the lover who appeared to you as perfect becomes less than perfect. It is then your love is tested and it is then you will see how much you were being brainwashed by your hormones and it is then you can decide if you want to love them by continuing to accept them for the person they can't help but be.

People complaining why he didn't answer with a 'no' or a 'yes'. A Guru would never do this. He would guide u to decide what is best for you as in this world there is no absolute answer.
All I understood from his answer was premarital sex isn't wrong if true emotions are involved and a sense of commitment is there. Don't go banging around just confusing attachments with love and then getting heart-broken.
Brother game is simple . If you want to get laid with someone make sure he/she will marry you for ur life. Nd if you have even 1% of doubt then just don't go further as it will just create inner chaos, discomfort and disgrace for entire life.

One other view on this topic comes from the Chinese Zodiac. From the age 12 to 24 is the FIRE stage of life.
Think of the element of fire. It is passion, anger, lust, and passion. This exactly describes the teenage years.

Sadguru is spot on!! When I was around 14-15 or so, there was a girl who was being talked of as my prospective wife, by elders on both sides, younger to me by about 3 years or so. We became friends, got emotionally attached, (as Sadguru says) and when we attained maturity, continued with our longing for each other. The rest of the story is different, I donot wish to state here, as it is not relevant. Now I am 76 and when I look back, it was a very thoughtful arrangement by elders in the society, at least they made a sincere efforts to settle this human issue. Another example; I was teaching in a B-School post retirement from IAF. One day I happened to come across a student of mine in a disturbed state of mind, who was otherwise very lively in the class. On probing, I found out that there was pressure from his parents that he gets married to a girl, known to and quite acceptable to him, as his grandma was on almost death bed and she wanted to see them married before her death. He was disturbed because, he was financially not independent, his friends made fun of him as he was only 21+ , studies would be disturbed and so on. Well, guess what, I succeeded in convincing him to agree and get married immediately. I assured him that it would help him study better than studying in his present state of mind. Everything ended happily. I am a very strong advocate of men and women getting married when the emotions & physical needs are at peak and with one adjustment regarding child birth. I t will do wonders to you my dear youngsters. It will also address many social ills haunting our present youngster.
Good luck.

I want to say that it is written in our oldest and greatest text Bhagvad Gita that any sex outside the marriage is considered illicit, not acceptable, it is a big sin. Marriage is a holy activity in one's life therefore only the sex between boy and girl, who are married to each other , is a good thing. Therefore we should control our senses till marriage and if one cannot do so then he/she should soon get married. Sense control can be achieved by spirituality , chanting god's name and meditation.

it's very bad to do sex with any person whom u like. It's the worst thing to say. as an elderly person he should say about Indian culture and the marriage system. If anyone participates in sex with a person and after that, he married another person. They will face several problems in their married life. I just can't understand how people make a such stupid decisions without thinking about the future and the consequences.
Finally, if anyone goes into a relationship with others before marriage or the back side of their life partner they will face many issues. there are thousands of cases with family consultants and courts regarding this matter.

I am Indian but born and raised in the UK. However I did stay in India for 3 consecutive years. In my opinion Sadhguru speaks alot of sense in this video. For example, in a society where sex is a taboo subject...... Some people release their suppression in many ways. In very violent, unlawful and aggressive ways towards solo female travellers like myself. And those undesirable people get away with it as they pay off the police to cover up their crimes. I have seen this behaviour in big tourist resorts.
However I have also seen a lot of behaviours of people in India who display emotional and sexual intelligence. And that's super as it shows that india is becoming forward thinking.
From my point of view as a Solo female traveler it's important to stay in Indian villages and not conventional tourist resorts. Also I travelled on 40 hour train journeys across the country and met many amazing Indian people on the trains. Families who would share their food with me and keep me company.
India is complex, but it is changing for the better. Especially for women. And I find that more and more people are now talking about sex which is of course a very Important thing to do in society. As that will reduce the negative behaviors which are brought on by suppression.
I hear many people say they are proud to be an Indian and India is the best country in the world. In terms of it's cultural depth re the food, the Hinduism (bar the caste system) and the places of interest I would agree with that one. But only for those specific things.

I beleive sex before marriage is immoral. Simply for the fact that if you cant keep it in your pants long enough to build a genuine and committed relationship with someone long enough to commit to a holy vow for life, theres nothing to say that the entire relationship isnt built on simple lust and desire.
The reward for staying virtuous and pure until marriage is that youre relationship has a foundation of something real and unchanging. Sex at that point is the recognition that youve done the hard work to give you the best shot at fulfilling your vows "till death do we part"

Societies that impose marriage to their children at such an early age have their ideas and reasons that are only for their own norms and values. Some European countries sexuality is a normal part of life - everyone can and will do it and some won't. In the Western World after the 70s the sexual revolution took place and most know how that went and how sexuality as been transformed has not always for the betterment of the individuals. It is meant to be a subjective area in a person's life - there shouldn't be any right or wrong. Moderation is key as in everything...Thanks.

@jeffin that's what i said brother but no one wants to do yoga i don't know they just want to get laid.
Or you could use contraception since it exists?
He said one must be emotionally bound and at an early age around 25, if a person's emotional and physical need is fulfilled then he can attain higher dimensions by focusing on things needed to be done as a human race so clearly he meant it's not about pre or post it's about how well you can be with the person you love both emotionally and physically.

This is my hop, no it's not wrong, its very important, because if you are tied to someone (marriage) and you find out you don't work in bed, that is going to lead to problems and could ultimately lead to divorce.
But you should never take it lightly and understand the bonds and emotional attachments it creates.
Discuss it if you can, make sure you both are ready, and if it happens spontaneously discuss it after or you might not need to, it's up to you.

Wisdom! The west has got it entirely wrong, in simpler times when we used to be peasants in Britain there was a certain degree of family guidance and matchmaking between the “houses”. Now we forfeit our children in the womb for women’s ambitions and careers and our nation is dying, it is not reproducing itself and children suffer from neglect because mothers are at work and return home exhausted or parents divorce, emotionally damaging the children who no longer feel secure. Adults have lost their sense of duty to the vulnerable and to each other. Listen to your guru, he’s right. With love from the UK. 🙏🏻
He's not saying anything of this sort, at all. I would love to see you living back in those "simpler times" lol. The reason why that changed is that it didn't work. Our society now doesn't work either, but these are not the only two possibilities for us as a species. And as an interesting fact: living in communities, rather than individual houses/families, has always been the natural way of human groups to organize, and the one that works best. Stop throwing your political thinking here, and saying sh*t about how bad is that women have paid jobs.
I think sadguru is leaving this question to debate on how it must be done. However, he highlights sadhanas for youngsters so that they don't jeopardise their potential and future by getting distracted by their sex drive . He also stresses the fact that our harmones tend to hijack our intelligence quite often when we fall in love with some one and decide to start a relationship with them without getting a deeper measure of them

If you don't want marriage, nor children, you probably won't marry nor have children. It's the same with belief.

Ive also thought along the timeline change in modern society. People in general are living longer and having families later in life. So of course the sex drive will still be there when most young adults are still single.
The reason nobody discusses this topic…is the reality that complete reformation of Social infrastructure is required to change course. Our social infrastructure has been in place for thousands of years…its failed subjectiveness leads to oblivious tyranny of our Planet and Universe

So the answer is - we need to research on how to do it in a way that our social fabric doesn't break down.
What's the solution ?? I recently turned 23 ,I have just started my career and I don't want to get married before 30 . I want to do MBA ,travel and enjoy my life.
Like me girls are also living here in the city, away from family they too long for relationships. All I can see is 3 possible ways

2. Make friends with benefits (no strings attached)
3. Stay in live in relationship with a friend

Earlier it was handled in a way which Sadhguru told. Fixing marriage at 7 years n then getting married at 14 or 18 are not possible in this society. So by the time we finish education n settle financially we become 30. But engaging in sexuality at random has its consequences. Break-up due to career or place of job has become common. That's again an emotional issue. What's the way to handle this then? ☺️
Thank you so much for this
