i am in college now and i find myself having a strong desire to be in a relationship.. i’m letting my hormones control me and i feel that i will not be truly happy/complete without a relationship. but i realize that this is not true. a significant other at this time in my life would only be a distraction and cause suffering.. i know this. i’m trying to shift my focus onto me and bettering myself and loving myself.
Girl don't. I've let my hormones control me as well and it still does I'm 18. I was in a relationship with an older guy(24) it was somewhat manipulative but it was so intense as well. I've found myself gone back to him now but deep down I know it isnt right. I'm letting my emotions cloud my thinking .Now I don't know what to do. It's not a necessity. It would only bring you unnecessary pain and baggage. I'm also starting college. I'm thinking of ways to disassociate with him. While watching this video one thought came to my mind that you don't have to be physically involved to be in a romantic relationship. That is just a choice that a couple make for them.
And a relationship without any physical involvement can also cause you many troubles and heartbreaks that are obstacles in the path of your success according to the video.
We don't live in a constant world. Things around us change, also the people and so we have to learn to adapt otherwise we'll crumble like a cookie.
We are bound to face difficulties in our life if not because of lover than because of family or friends, it could be anything. In my opinion it is necessary that we face difficulties in our life, that's how we learn from them and grow mature.
If you think that only boyfriend and girlfriend are the problem of a teenage life than you don't know teenagers, their life is more complicated than people assume.
Sometimes these girlfriend and boyfriend are the people that they've survived. Everyone's situation is not the same, some might not have anyone in their family and friends to relay on imotionally which could lead them to take those life decisions that might harm them.
Elders are supposed to guide the children so they won't do anything that might harm them in any way and give them imotional support which they need, telling them boyfriends and girlfriends are not good for them is not going to help them in their life.
Anyways these are just my thoughts it's not necessary that everyone agrees to that but I'll say one thing that atleast try and think about it once.

Im 24 and i didn't had a girlfriend once so far. My mind always keep going about having a girlfriend and just live the life. At the same time iam studying and need to focus on it. Now after this what sadhguru said im realizing about how important education actually is to oneself and that one should be thankful for having the opportunity to study. im really thankful for the speech of sadhguru, I hope it will give me and also other people insights and focus to our life, so we can make the best out of it.

What a brilliant speech given by Sadhguru, do whatever you want without harming anyone but do not make it a trend that you must have boyfrnd or grlfrnd or have body based relationships during your college days or university days. This is the time to focus on our life, career, nd it should always be done in a balanced manner. What a great lesson!! There are many profound relationships beyond bodies.. "If you live too early, you will not live well, do not rush to live early" . Best ever advice given by Sadhguru, wish this was taught in our school by our teachers or parents at our home.
