Love my $24,100 XL Hybrid. I actually like the steel wheel look. Biggest plus is that I could afford it!! If I can't buy a vehicle with cash, I don't buy it. So for the last 30 years all my vehicles have been used, until this gem.
The key pad feature on the outside is nice. I ride my bike a lot on trails. I park at a trial head and take my bike off the rack and like to leave my keys somewhere. So if I can lock them inside, that’s great!
Lariat is quieter because it has acoustic windshield.....nice upgrade on any vehicle. Thanks for the nice review. I ordered an FX4 XLT and wound up going home with a Lariat...I cant complain. !!
glad i ordered one in 2022 and received March 2023. Got the XLT with tow package / hybrid / red / upgraded mats and some more stuff for $24,500.00 Now that same build is almost $31k. Also get 46MPG (combo miles) using the eco setting. Amazing. Runs many miles on electric only.
You ain't lying, I'm in Jersey and they told me point blank at the one dealership. Oh we automatically tack on five extra thousand dollars to the sticker price. Unbelievable they'll be going out of business soon.
Great comparo thanks! Hoping to order a 2024 XLT Lux Black in Cactus Gray this week. It’s a truck in appearance but a car in driving! Would love to meet the design and engineering team PMs. The black appearance is so subtle and well done it took a second trip to the dealer to realize everything, the interior, the taillights - really very well thought out! Thanks again man, good job.
Thank you for pointing out the crazy high seating position in the passenger seat. What makes it more crazy is on the XL (and maybe others) the height can't be adjusted (not even manually).
I see alot of people talking about these being $40k+ I think it’s worth pointing out that is NOT what ford is pricing them at. Loaded completely they top out at $40k. And that’s if you do a Lariat and add the tremor package on top of that. I really don’t see the point in adding a tremor personally, since this is meant to be a small, functional utility vehicle. Not an off-road trail rig like a Tacoma. Realistically these are ~$30,000 with a few options. I ordered an XLT with the XLT luxury package add on, total was $31,000. Don’t pay crazy dealer mark ups and be patient with an order. Done that way these things are the best value in a utility type of vehicle hands down in my opinion.
Great review. The steering wheel wasn't 3D printed mind you. It was injection molded. That's where the two sides of the die come together. They should clean that up! Waiting on a $65k Maverick version of the Mark LT.

Other then that this is going to be a fun project truck I think, and the MPG is far better then my last rig, 19 WRX :/ lol.
The Lariat is alto blue, not atlas blue. I think the XL is the best buy for the money, unless you want all the extra's. These trucks loaded up can go for over $40,000. You can still get an XL for $25,410 with the base equipment and the 2.0 engine.
You need to take your Hybrid in to service if it is gutless at 60. I have a 2023 XLT hybrid that is spunky as hell. Every time I pass someone I come back in around 85 to 90 MPH and very quickly. It maybe my way of passing (I drove stockcars for 15years.) but i have no worries. Also my 0-60 is 6.1. Maybe it is just one of those rare truckletts. I know no two vehicles are alike.

Awesome, informative video! I’ve been torn as to which model to get, as well as AWD or Hybrid. I’m leaning towards the Lariat, mostly for the keyless entry. My Lexus is keyless, whereas my Jeep Wrangler (which I’ll be selling) is not and I loathe carrying keys around. Plop them in my purse and forget about them. This has been the best video I’ve watched. Even better than Motor Week! 😊
I don't like the Side Mirrors, as they don't have turn signal lights on them, and they don't have a motor to adjust them. You have to open the window and physically push them into the right place, but as you drive along, they shake and move out of place. I prefer vehicles with motorized mirrors and the ability to save the setting, so if my wife is driving, the car recognizes her key and the mirrors both adjust to her setting.
Dear Ford Company : Kindly request Ford Maverick selling $22K only so Low Income People and Poor Students can buy ! Inflation increase , gas price increase , foods increase , renting increase...and quite sure we can afford to buy a car over $30K ! Please , this is a mutual and critical message !

Give me a Toyota Scout un-seen for 30K and i will be happy! I drove a basic Maverick when they came out for 19,999.00 that felt every single bump in the road and just seemed to be lacking in all areas!
@appleautos DON'T CALL IT LEATHER. I think you really should check the specs on the Lariat. The seats and steering wheel are Not Covered in Leather. They are covered in ActiveX which is NOT Leather. Nice to see the models but there is not a single awd Maverick for sale within 100 miles of Tacoma at this time. The same for rangers. Ford is screwing it's customers.
Actually, they are not screwing anyone except that the keep uping the price; the margins on the Maverick are narrower than on their other trucks, and most of their SUVs. Given that they were on track to lose 4.5 billion in 2023 on EVs, and given their negotiations with the union, they would like to stay in business. And new vehcle prices are wh;y I bjuy used vehicles. Hell will freeze over before I pay over sticker for a truck that is 1 to two years old. I am old enough to know the difference between "want" and "need"., and act accordingly.
Mavericks and Rangers do have smaller margins. They are also the only type of vehicles selling today. When dealers can't sell their big trucks and SUV's do to the slowing economy, inflation, and interest rates, selling a lot of the smaller vehicles could keep the dealerships open. I agree buying used in better today, but if people don't buy new, good used vehicles are hard to find.@@timmoore9736

I suggest snow tires, however its great with those!
Probably much like any other front drive vehicle. The majority of the weight is above the drive wheels which aids traction.
Will you honor Zplan pricing on the Mavericks??
Of course! I will admit however, D plan, Z plan and X plan are not aggressive at all on mavericks. Expect around $600 on an XL to $1500 on a lariat.

Because the tank in the hybrid is pressurized
