I finally found someone I’m able to be vulnerable with. I’m able to share my deepest darkest thoughts and be comfortable doing so. Things I never thought I’d be telling anyone I’ve told him. Things I thought would be a dealbreaker for him but he stuck around, and was vulnerable with me too. Now we’re planning a future together. Moving in together. Being from two different countries hasn’t even stopped us. I love him so much and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with him ❤️❤️🥰

8th stage: You get rejected due to distance, hoping that is actually that and the girl isn't just saying that to be nice, and then spending many months trying to remove all those romantic feelings of her so that you can still be close friends without any conflicting feelings
...I feel bad now that I read this. It reminds me of my friend, I rejected her and couldn't even say it myself....

The “being close friends without any conflicting feelings” part is really difficult, if not impossible in some cases. I’ve personally given up on being friends with people I was in love with: either they retained some sort of romantic / sexual desire, or I did. And it would always make things complicated or somebody would get hurt all over again when the other person starts dating someone else... I wish you all the best!! It’s not easy. But since your girl broke it off due to distance, the biggest favor you can do yourself is to take a lot of space & time away from her now to “get over” those feelings. I would recommend no contact (or as little as possible) and going “cold turkey” for a while because otherwise your feelings will be reinforced every time you see or speak to her, and it’ll take that much longer for romantic feelings to go away. Place your own emotional well-being on a higher priority as your contact with her right now. Good luck!

@@mistym0rning This has to help me overcome the problem (somewhat the same as the problem from the original comment)... But placing my emotional well-being above contact with her would mean I would put my emotional well-being above my mental state, because I can always talk to her whenever things 'dont go as planned' (bad grades) and I can talk about whatever I want and just not think of all the problems and Just have a relaxing conv. Cutting that off will build up stress and leave me exposed to all the people who react harsh on my bad grades... Pressured, Ill fail more often and that'll make the reactions on these fails harsher and it will just repeat untill I mentally fall over and kms. Oh well, dont think that'd be bad, right?

My relarionship is quite different since my boyfriend and I actually were best friends for a while already. It’s super strange! And I’m also a person who takes constructive criticism very well, so our hurdle was not really that large. I just fixed myself and that was good to go.

How about a relationship that evolves from the friendship? I always thought that a couple should be a 'best friend ' for each other when its necessary. I don't mean friendzoning of course, what I mean is emotional intimacy before romance.
How does that work?
Friendzone is a bullshit social construct. Your either into someone or not. Friendship is always the best way to achieve trust and a deep emotional connection. None of that stupid lustful shit. But a real deep spiritual connection and mutual understanding. Attraction for someone's mind and kind heart.

I met my partner in October of 2019, and officially started dating in December of 2019, which means we've spent the majority of our relationship in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. I'm 26 and I've never experienced a relationship like this, and although some of our dates may not have been strictly following the health guidelines to the T, we are both still happy, healthy, and desperately in love. Communication is key!!
I had the perfect partner. She had the cutest smile and laugh, she had an unbelievably amazing personality, she was so kind, nice and just pure perfect...
... but I lost her one day, and I still wish I had enough time to properly say goodbye to her.

As 2020 has been a difficult year, one of the best moments has been when my boyfriend told me he was falling in love with me. Our relationship feels solid, but we’re also going through a big hurdle right now, long distance due to Covid-19. I told my crush I liked him recently, he said he felt the same although nothing has come of it yet, which is fine for both of us as we don’t feel the need to rush into things. I’ve known that I like him for a few months now although I’m realizing that I began liking him way before I realized it. I was never nervous around him and always felt comfortable in his presence. We’ve never failed to make each other laugh and it’s always felt so natural, for lack of a better word. People assume we’re dating all the time because of the way we act together but no one knows we actually do like each other. Is it normal to just completely skip the nervous heart fluttering stage? I’ve had people tell me this wasn’t normal or was weird.

I truly think I am in love with my girlfriend (: after reaching to the discomfort stage (figuring out our boundaries, being vulnerable and finding out who we both truly are) and I feel as if we have grown stronger. I am very lucky to have truly loved 2 women in my life. My true first love, we were together for 6 years until around 20. We were so close. Then my wife who I had 25 years with until she sadly passed last year. However I have reconnected with my first love and we are totally in love again. For those who have never experienced love I hope someday you will, as feeling true love from your partner cannot be beaten.

Feel like I'm in number 4/5 as we where really close and loving and then she came back off her holiday and seemed more independent and felt off with me so I asked her a few weeks later and she said she didn't love me or didn't feel as strongly as I did but we said we wanted to try make it work and it's taking quite abit of time but hoping that it'll all work out in time and that we can build up the relationship and love each other for the foreseeable future
Sad thing is I’m kinda scared falling in love…like I’m not too scared or very scared just worried. It’s just if you form a relationship with the person you love many scenarios could happen…worst I hate is if they get tired of me, and then break up start another relationship and becomes a cycle…

Storytime~ Someone fell "inlove" with me (in " " because you can never be too sure, could just be infatuation). It's been about 3 years so I'd say he's pretty loyal. We've only chatted consistently recently because I wasn't close with him before and he's been pretty much starting convos/greeting me everyday (aii have never started a convo with him for 2 reasons: I'm not good at conversations as I'm a social introvert and I know a small action of mine will make him jump). Now, I'm pretty sure I'm not inlove... yet. I haven't officially pushed him away because I'm betting on the chance that I'll eventually fall inlove and since there's not a lot of loyal people like him out there. However, I also didn't say that I like him and have said that he most likely have the lowest chance with me. He said he'd take that chance and at this point, idk if I'm an asshole because I feel like I'm playing with him xD I am clearly aware that he's head over heels for me so if I tell him to stay away from me and move on, it would probably destroy him. And since I'm not so sure about my feelings and opinions, I'm keeping and talking to him as normal. Hopefully I don't regret my decisions and hopefully I won't keep him until I find someone else that I like because that's just going to be so sad. After getting through me and my boyfriend's lack of communication issue, our love for each other deepened and now we have been together for a few years. Talking to him about my issue with the relationship really helped me stop being insecure and worrying about him and that was the best decision I ever made, I know me and him have a good chance to have relationship that lasts a lifetime as we will talk about our problems openly with each other and resolve it.

Me and my man are at a big hurdle rn....we've known each other 3.5 years. We're working through this hurdle fairly well and this is the farthest I've ever gotten in a relationship (22f with a baby). I say "fairly well" but thats not to belittle that it IS a hurdle and it does hurt. I know me and my bf will get through this and when we do we'll be in that "all walls down" stage we just have to get there...... love is hell, thats true. I see a lot of people on here with sad, bitter comments about love and im right there with you, despite the fact i have a bf. Point is, im willing to fight for me and my bf to stay together and ive never done such before neither have i ever felt like someone is worth hanging onto.

Oh my gosh I went through 1-6 when I was little and only now am dating the person-
for the first time in my life in all of my 18 years, i have found somebody. it's long distance but my childhood friends have already met him through church. thing is he liked me first, and at the time i thought he was cute but not romantically attracted. when he called me cute after teasing me during an online game, i felt so confused. it was the first time a guy called me cute face to face. and also he likes my personality. how do i know? he didn't even know my face until a day after, only my personality, my voice, my nationality and my age. it was the first time any guy has been straightforward with me, and the fact that he likes everything i like is so reassuring, considering most guys i liked before found my interests weird. finding out he liked me back was so nice, even tho we only knew each other for 3 weeks at the time. these past few weeks, we are waiting it out so we could know each other better. to conclude these few weeks, i think i can safely say he's the one. my first relationship in my whole life, and it's with a guy my friends truly love and respect. and the only thing wrong is his location! even if it doesn't work out, i think we can still continue to be friends because he's such a nice person all around, easygoing with everybody, even with strangers. i'm going to confess!
