My favorite version of Vandal Savage is definitely his Young Justice version. He's 3 steps ahead of everyone else, and his cool calculated portrayal bounce well off of Klarion's instability
exactly, YJ's portrayal of Lex,Clarion, and Savage was brilliant, seemed like nothing could stand in their way, on top of them being 3 steps ahead of EVERYONE
I loved it in season 3, he not only p*ssed in Darkseid's cornflakes, but he went out of his way to let the big man know that it was him who did it😂 Epitome of no f*cks given
Vandal: I don’t need to bathe in some green children’s pool to enjoy the gift of immortality boy Ra’s: At least I wasn’t a dumb savage neanderthal OLD MAN!!
Also unlike Ras Al Ghul who can be killed and remain dead as long as he isn’t put in a Lazarus pit shortly after the death Vandal Savage can’t be killed obviously because he is immortal.
I like Vandal Savage, which is why I hate the way he's portrayed in DC's Legends of Tomorrow... Changing his origin to an Egyptian curse, and making him obsessed with Hawkgirl is just stupid!
well seeing as how that's his exact storyline in Dark Knights Metal which is widely considered some of the best stuff DC has done in recent history something tells me you might be a bit off
Vandal Savage is also stated to be Cain, the oldest son of Adam and Eve and the first murderer himself. He even briefly wore the "Mark of Cain", a metaphysical scarring with a cross pattern disfiguring his face, until he passed it to Renee Montoya.
+The Henryverse There were several episodes dealing with Savage in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. One where he used a time space portal to send a laptop with advanced tech back to a past version of himself to help the Nazi's win WWII. And another where Superman is sent into a distance future where Vandal Savage is the last human left alive, and Vandal creates a machine to send him back to stop Vandal from screwing up the future that Supes was sent to. The last scene of that episode was pretty cool.

Although that would be AWESOME, he already appeared in Flash and Arrow and is supposed to be the main villain in Legends of Tomorrow. It would probably confuse many show viewers
FinalScar well marvel had 2 quiksilvers in movies. I like the YJ savage tho LoT savage seem less intimidating and wise like the YJ. Would prefer to see a better actor playing as savage on the big screen, he was such an underrated villain.
Now, we're going back to the 90's. I remember Vandal Savage having killed Wally West, but then some alien implant in Wally gave him a one-time-only resurrection, and he came back even faster. He gripped Vandal Savage's gun by the barrel, while Savage was holding it, held it to his own head, and said, "Would you like to try another six? I reloaded it for you."
I loved the show Young Justice for introducing me to Savage. The Arrow version of Savage seems lacking and not as ominous as he appears in the comic let alone the Young Justice show.
The version of the character on Young Justice is the best incarnation of the character. The scars on the face made the characters stand out. Before that, he just looked like a member of the Hellfire Club from the X-Men comics
Vandal Savage with out doubt has the scariest Theme of all DC and Marvel series. When I first time followed Legends of Tomorrow and hearing his theme I get chilled down my core. Always feeling the dread and death everywhere he goes. A true villain to be feared!
I was thinking about it earlier today and I realized that Kang the conqueror is kind of like Marvel's Vandal Savage. There still pretty different but it's one of those things I never really thought of before
Vandal actually started all super-heroes since as a Genghis Khan he spread his metagenes all over the world and remember that most of the modern humans are grand, grandchildren of Khan in the real world too.
+VariantComics Does Vandal Savage have any history with Ra's Al Ghul?? I would find it odd if two immortals never noticed each other. I know Ra's is younger then Savage but still they had to have cross paths.
Yes, I did know that about Elvis. :) Mac Raboy (artist of CMJr) also would get into arguments with the publisher because he wanted to focus more on painting 'pretty pictures' over forming a story.
You know there was a villain on an episode of the TV show Smallville who was also an immortal who had lived for a very long time, As I recall he kidnapped Chloe in order to make himself and immortal bride that would live along side of him for eternity. When I saw that episode I pretty much thought that was there version of Vandal Savage even though he wasn't called Vandal Savage on that episode.
I have a video request, How do the Endless fit into the DC universe? They're not used the same way as what might be their counter parts in the Marvel universe, like Mistress Death and Deadpool/Thanos. But I wonder if they're mentioned at all. Neil Gaiman's Sandman series is probably my favourite graphic novel/comic series ever and in the first few issues he asks John Constantine and the Martian Manhunter for help finding his tools after being imprisoned for example. Just not sure if this is acknowledged in other issues.
I think the Endless aren’t exactly scaled as the rest of the characters, more so as observers. They’re hard to define as Gaiman doesn’t exactly label them or compare them to anything. The Endless have been perceived as gods, but we know in reality they are in this pseudo-space, sort of like extensions of their domain, which are concepts. The Endless are fascinating.
Vandle is exactly that "SAVAGE" experience, knowledge, immortal, and everything else..he is (in my opinion) one of the most formidable opponents to batman
Do a independent comic month please. I love locke and key, saga , the bunker , avatar comics, chew etc. Independent comics take chances the others wont. They expand the medium by giving alternatives , thus finding readers deeper interests.
Just subbed, love the History of show. I would love to see one about Mr. Freeze. He is one of the most complex and interesting Batman villains, when he is not the Terminator.

And also its shown in season 3 that he was GENGHIS KHAN!
@@smrahul3563 Well we would assume so since his comic book counterpart was stated to have been the great khan
I loved it in season 3, he not only p*ssed in Darkseid's cornflakes, but he went out of his way to let the big man know that it was him who did it😂

Word!!!
Immortality,
Regenerative Healing
Superhuman physical attributes,
Genius-level intellect,
Excellent combat skills,
Schooled in millennia of history, warfare and science.
Wow impressive
Michael De Santa you also forgot to mention that he’s a evolved Neanderthal, which is why he has his superhuman abilities.
Man, i would love to talk to him!
the historian in me longs for that kind of talk.
Amazing what you can accomplish over 50,000 years.
@@PrimarisBlackshieldDeathwatch Depends on the Story. Sometimes he’s just a Cro-Magnon
Isn’t he also insanely rich?
My favorite Vandal Savage story was from Justice League Unlimited where he fought giant cockroaches in the future with Superman.
I was watching that episode 2 day's ago.
Nick Zamora I also love the WW2 episode
I agree!!!
Hella gross😳
Lex Luthor and Vandal Savage vs the Justice League 👍
Fun fact: The meteor that made him immortal became the Lazarus pit. However, the Lazarus pit is a more deteriorated version of the meteor.
wow
I legitimately didn't know this but I'm not surprised
But what's your source on this? I wanna read it for myself
that makes sense that’s cool asf. links two of my favorite villains ever
Then he must be close friend with Al ghul. If Vandal savage was real he would have been taken over the earth.
I thought lazarus pits were made by trigon ?
Savage makes Ra"s Al Ghul seem like a boy, in terms of his longevity.
Yeah, I love it when they interact with each other. Savage calls Al Ghul, boy/child/etc. Al Ghul calls Savage old. It's glory (+)
Vandal: I don’t need to bathe in some green children’s pool to enjoy the gift of immortality boy
Ra’s: At least I wasn’t a dumb savage neanderthal OLD MAN!!

I like Vandal Savage, which is why I hate the way he's portrayed in DC's Legends of Tomorrow... Changing his origin to an Egyptian curse, and making him obsessed with Hawkgirl is just stupid!
he is a freakin immortal caveman after all ;D
Raphael Loh yep
Raphael Loh I stopped watching after like 5 episodes
they mixed Savage up with the villain from comics that was a sucker for HG.
well seeing as how that's his exact storyline in Dark Knights Metal which is widely considered some of the best stuff DC has done in recent history something tells me you might be a bit off
Young Justice is my favorite design of Vandal Savage.
Justice League Doom version was pretty cool too
Vandal Savage is also stated to be Cain, the oldest son of Adam and Eve and the first murderer himself. He even briefly wore the "Mark of Cain", a metaphysical scarring with a cross pattern disfiguring his face, until he passed it to Renee Montoya.
Which is a little weird, because Cain is also in the Sandman comics as his own character separate from Savage
I expected that Vandal Savage's history would've taken a millennium to explain his history.
Good one
Nice.
BAH DUHM TSS!
+Domodudes Pokévids ba dum tss...
More than that long; it would take thousands, tens of thousands
Young Justice Vandal Savage is a beast!
He was in the small screen in Young Justice
Needs to be brought back >.> dc Saturday morning
As well as in Justice League(the animated show)
+The Henryverse There were several episodes dealing with Savage in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. Yeah, but you know. Live action.
+Shiirow He was also in young justice invasion.
+Shiirow I don't remember him in Justice League Unlimited.
However, Justice League, Young Justice, Justice League : Doom, Flash, Arrow, I do.
+Valpas Kankaristo He did say small screen. He was also in Smallville... and if you count Flash and Arrow.
+JonCombo as Dr. Curtis Knox played by Dean Cain
He should be a main villain in one of the Justice League movie. Should be on par with Loki
on par with loki nooo...
Although that would be AWESOME, he already appeared in Flash and Arrow and is supposed to be the main villain in Legends of Tomorrow. It would probably confuse many show viewers

Harish Rabbani completely agree YJ savage is so much better than cw's i hoping that LoT gives him more depth
I say he could be the secret big bad of dceu

Just went back and read this issue.. Great story. It was Kilgore that saved him
Vandal Savage is my favourite villain in all of comics. He is seriously underrated
Young Justice's Portrayal of Vandal Savage
Is still the best animated version of a comic book villain of all time
Hands down
Young Justice Savage was dope
Everything about YJ was dope
TheEpic22 tru dat
yeah !! so dope that it made me search and learn about all of them
Clavin gaming hellll yeaaa
What i love about Vandal Savage is that he isnt really good, but he also isnt evil.. He just does whatever the fuck he wants in every timeline.
I love this guy, he breaks everything down perfectly

You can also see inspiration for the flashy Vegas costumes with capes that Elvis wore in his later years from Captain Marvel/Shazam.
Fun fact: every single human with a meta gene 🧬 is a descendent of Vandal Savage. Ironic he created his own enemies 😂
I like in Justice League when Superman went to the future. He became a good guy.
can u do the new gods!!!
go to comicstorian
+VariantComics please do history of blade
+Jimmy Woo May you do "The New Gods"?*
+VariantComics i thought u were going to do alternate versions of venom

Vandal Savage is an awesome and interesting villain.
I like the Vandal Savage from Young Justice voiced by the late Miguel Ferrer.
Resurrection Man 1,000,000 is an amazing read; all the planning and counterplanning.
What are the fucking odds that I just watched Justice League Doom last night?
+JACOB CORCORAN Good movie my favorite dc animated movie

How about both of them in the DCEU?
don't forget Elvis's cape was another inspiration from capt marvel jr
Do a history of ex machina (the vertigo comic)
I was thinking about it earlier today and I realized that Kang the conqueror is kind of like Marvel's Vandal Savage. There still pretty different but it's one of those things I never really thought of before
Vandal Savage came from Ancient times while Kang is from the Distant Future.

Vandal Savage was also in Justice League : Doom. Very cool villain.

shawn dahl that's really interesting. I wonder if they ever did meet at some point

His small screen portrayal is very very ordinary to me. Nothing that exudes greatness similar to that of the comics and animated series.
Top ten suicide squad members!
deadshot
Deathstroke.
all death
deathstroke 2.0
Yes, I did know that about Elvis. :)

Keep these videos coming! By far my favorite channel
Could you do a history of Mordru? He's more powerful than Savage.
HeroGamer Nothing, really. It was just an idea.
As I always will say, animated solo origin story
shazam inspired Elvis Presley's hair I think if you're gonna feature me my name is M - U darkelf
oh I though that was a question next time I watch the whole video and read the description right
With such power, skill and an infamous background. It surprises me that Savage was never included in the Injustice games
Hey Arris do you think Batman and Daredevil have names that would suit their counterpart more than themselves?
I think it's awesome how YJ added complexity to Savage...The JL might heroes of Earth but Savage is the hero of humanity's history
Superman can throw Vandal into the sun and he'll die
Only if he blows up metropolis and murders Lois and their unborn child

+AKGames a small loan of 200,000,00 dollars
Vandal Savage backstory in Young Justice is the best origin so far.
DC's New 52 is pure trash it's like an early 90's Marvel Comics rip off.
+Hoganmann Pure trash yeah sure. Because all the praise for certain series that were made in recent years is nothing but fabricated lies.
Vandle is exactly that "SAVAGE" experience, knowledge, immortal, and everything else..he is (in my opinion) one of the most formidable opponents to batman

Let's all agree that he got a cool name
Nice. Definitely learned something. One thing I just found out was an ancestor to Roy Harper (at least prior to the New 52).
Hey man ! Love your stuff ... I would like to know if you were planning on doing some videos on Spider-Man's villains ?

Love all your vids arris, keep em coming 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
He was also hinted at being the first cannibal in existence. haha that Vandal Savage. He does the darndest things.
Learn so much from watching these
Vandall Savage sounds kind of like Wolverine, with a few differences. Would love to see them fight. Unfortunately they are in different comic publishers.
+Anthony Gilmore That and logan (616) is currently dead X-23 is th current wolverine.
Vandal is not only Immortality.. He also have a healing factor that beats anything you have ever seen..
I've always struggled to take Savage seriously even as a kid. To me he's just an immortal guy so I don't get why he's always kicking ass
He s one of my favorite characters in comic books.
Savage was awesome in Demon Knight and in the DC Presents.
Savage is so interesting! He's definitely in top 5 dc villains. The guy is also a main villain like lex luthor or darkseid who actually pulls the strings unlike a badass henchman like deathstroke or joker.
This reminds me of the Young Justice TV series. That was so awesome! Aris did you watch and if so what did you think about it?
Dude literally got to score with chicks throughout history
*What a Savage lmao*
