    Of course he got mad.
    and going on a rampage was a bit much, but then they lock him away for 20 years, torturing him. Make no mistake, try kneeling holding two heavy boulders with needles in your back, unable to do or see anything new for 20 years, that's straight up torture.
    Then he finds out this mystical scroll he was taught to believe was the most important thing, the meaning to his life, is empty. It was all just some kind of dumb lesson, his whole life just falls to pieces.

    Imagine what Tai Lung would be capable of if he had still been actively pursuing his goal instead of being locked up. After 20 years with his arms steched apart and giant shell pieces spiked into his back. He just breaks the shell with a FLEX, still holding both giant boulders, then breaks his chains and engineers the most epic escape with every aspect being improvised in the moment. All of this after being completely immobilized for 20. Years. He would have been absolutely unstoppable.

      @@spiker.ortmann Truthfully why couldn't it have been both? I like to this it was a combination of the two, PLANNING, and improvised at the same time. Tai Lung may have thought of countless plans, for example a human brain, have about 4 sextillion thoughts at least potentially in your head. So Tai Lung waited, bided his time, and I'm sure what you said to be true, in the video, the Rhinos got lazy, and depending on how they bragged to him about how he would never escape, they showed off all of their tactics and weapons, so Tai Lung had a plan. But it wasn't completely planned, at every moment, during throughout the entire escape everything was on the fly, from the hand cuffs, shackles, spears, fighting through the fortress, to the bridge, and the explosions, was all bits and pieces of possible ways you would escape all. But now that I typed it out, Tai Lung wasn't a flexible thinker, or he wouldn't has had so much trouble with Po, who is flexible, adaptable, and open minded as one could be.

      @@shadowreaper2011Bc its not like he ad a few months. Tai Lung had literally 20 years of doing literally absolutely nothing except plan to escape. After being immobilized and unable to move or do anything else, day in and day out for 2 whole decades. Every second of every day he could do nothing but spend his time planning his escape with all the knowledge of anything and everything the rhinos bragged about being why he cant escape. I dont think you grasp how long 20 years is, especially being all alone and unable to move and have any activities for that entire time. Hed have nothing better to do. So no, no reason to improvise if he can run through the same simulation every seconds of the day for 20 years and nothing else. There would be no improvising since conceivable very possibility would be planned for and expected in that tome. No movement, no activities, no social interactions except taunting and abuse from the guards. Minimal sound or talking.

      @assassincharizard Месяц назад +12

      In all fairness, I didn't say he never thought about it or planned anything. But the circumstances he was presented with in the midst of his escape is what he had to improvise with to adapt his strategy to. In every moment, he did that flawlessly for the sake of his escape. He improvised the application of the details of his escape as they played out based on the factors and circumstances he was given in the moment.

    • @ACW-dn9wb
      @ACW-dn9wb Месяц назад +7

      @assassincharizard If it were just a few months, yeah. But this time, no, he wouldnt need to improvise or adapt with. By the end of the entire 20 years, i remind you is a VERY long time, and with solitude and absolutely nothing else to do up to his escape, he'd know all their means of security to the pinpoint finest details. Hed have literally nothing else to do but observe, plan, amd simulate his escape from every conceivable angle and method. He just has too long and nothing else to do for otherwise to "go with the flow" and improvise. By then, aside from the feather being used as a key, nothing would be new or a surprise to Tai Lung.

    Props to Ian McShane for blowing it out of the water as Tai Lung. He brought just the right amount of serious to the role to sell the emotional scenes while still being able to sell the humor of the lighter moments to get the kids to laugh. "He's a panda, you're a panda. What are you gonna do big guy? Sit on me?" helped humanize the character so much. At the end of the first movie, he was overpowered, humbled, and taught that the reason he didn't receive validation was his own desperate need for it. Then he got a decade or so of timeout in a realm alongside a lot of (mostly chill) Kung fu masters.
      He had plenty of time to
      1 - reflect that yeah, he kinda got owned fair and square
      2 - he IS still a very powerful martial artist. But being great and being a god are two different things
      3 - reflect on the meaning of the scroll

      @@bot4hire202 yes, that was Shifu's shortcoming. He was too focused on power and technicalities when training Tai Lung, being blinded by his talent, that he forgot to teach him many emotional aspects of Kung Fu, instead only fueling his ambitions. The denying of the scroll might have even been a final test by Oogway, before making Tai Lung a dragon warrior, which he failed. However, they are all adults after all, and adults are responsible for their own actions. We don't know exact sequence of events, but I suspect that Tai Lung spiraled into the rampage faster than anyone could've done anything. If he got defensive, angry or maybe even tried to take the scroll by force, I feel like Oogway could have given him the second chance. But if you are hurting innocent people in anger, that is mostly on you. And following the logic of Shifu's fault, you can say that Oogway is faulty for not correctly teaching his student how to be a master. Kung Fu Panda is one of the best movies ever made, it's jokes that seem surface level are actually deep enough to where it doesn't take away from the story. Like, what the victor of the battle came down to in the end was Po being fat. However this wasn't just a gag, it makes sense as his nerves were already established to be difficult to find by Mantis early in the movie. Also his anatomy is unique as an animal Tai Lung has probably never even fought before.
    So imagine being Tai Lung, the aspiring greatest martial artist in history, getting defeated randomly by someone who assumably comes from a super peaceful background (I'm guessing the Panda genocide happened while he was locked up, as he didn't seem too phased by the fact Po was a Panda, Tai Lung was in prison for 20 years and the Pandas genocide happened 20 years before Kung Fu Panda 3 so it's entirely possible). It's funny if you don't think about it too hard, but it would be such a horrible feeling lol. The lesson that Tai Lung didn't even understand in the end, the fact that being the dragon warrior had more to do with accepting the meaning of the scroll/having inner clarity rather than the literal "powers" it gave you, or the destruction you can cause, led to him having an extremely bitter death.

    Personally, I think Tai Lung was almost considering taking Shifu's apology. But at that point, he had been through too much, had done too many things, and had been stewing in his own anger for 20 years, with smart ass rhinos mocking and ridiculing you whenever they get bored- which is probably a lot of the time since they don't have much ELSE to do. He KIND of KNEW Shifu was RIGHT, and this all was what he REALLY needed deep down.
    I always think of Tai Lung as being basically the polar opposite to Po, but also being what Po COULD have been had he a different upbringing. While Shifu was PROUD of Tai Lung, he had nothing but vitriol for Po. While Tai Lung had a natural talent for kung fu, Po was just a fanboy. And Shifu poured so much of his pride into Tai Lung that he became a monster- yet with Po, he found out the answer was changing how he approached his training.

His only ambition was to be the best, not to be a dragon warrior. Imagine if he went out and just, started acting like the dragon warrior, forget the stupid scroll. Be the best anyway. Go fight crime, go prove you are the best by creating an era of peace across the world with your power. But no. It all has to come back to that turtle and the red panda, the need for validation in a scroll made by a turtle you hate. What could have been expected other than nothing?

    kung fu panda 4 story without awkwafina re-write:
    Po came home (valley of peace) after journeying the land as a dragon warrior completing many quests. he found out that his father Ping was dying. in his deathbed, he selfishly requested Po to continue his family legacy (the noodle shop) tho he wasnt really forceful about it. After ping's death, Po became split whether he should continue being a dragon warrior or fulfill his father's wishes. he felt he owed Ping that much. So Po decided to choose a new dragon warrior successor like oogway once did.

    • @panda5996
      @panda5996 Месяц назад +3

      Po saw many talented warriors including shapeshifting chameleon, powerful buffalo, agile and cunning fox displaying their talents. his finger wasn't pointing at any of them to be the next dragon warrior. But Po wanted to fulfil Ping's wish, and put smiles back on the faces of little piglets who are already asking about the famed noodle shop.
      So po against his judgement handed over the title of dragon warrior to the chameleon. Then po retired from the entire dragon warrior business to continue his father's legacy even taking on many rabbit apprentices in the arts noodle making and the 'secret' sauce for the soup.
      The newly anointed dragon warrior chameleon was good in the beginning, but started to become corrupted with power. 'dragon' is a part of reptilian race. the superior ones. her belief was that reptiles should be the ruling class in the valley! Oogway was a fool to give his title to a fat panda. Chameleon mastered many kung fu moves, her favorite Iron Fist technique, which she uses her tongue instead of a fist to club the enemy like a hook. She even evolve it by incorporating poison to the technique, which she now calls it poison fist.

    • @panda5996
      @panda5996 Месяц назад +2

      Chamilion started building a big tower at the valley and started training many lizard guards. Then she and her army started oppressing the citizens of the peaceful valley.
      Po feeling responsible for his action and convinced by his other father Li, went back to challenge chameleon and tried to put her back in the right path. As Po was about to defeat Chameleon, she shapeshifted into mister ping! how can Po strike his own father! With guilt ridden, Po held back. But chameleon took that opportunity to strike Po down, but Li came in just in time with speed fueled by a father's love. Li saved his family from Lord Shen once, and this time, the old panda yet again launched himself forward to save his son! but Chameleon poisoned fist claimed his life though Po is safely pushed off to the side.

    • @panda5996
      @panda5996 Месяц назад +2

      Po came to his senses and took his father's body and escape the tower. Po tried to find help as fast as possible, but no herbs can save Li from his fate. After both of his father deaths, Po was plunged into depression, as chameleon continues to oppress the people! The two other dragon warrior candidates, the buffalo and the fox took up the gauntlet to fight the lizard goons after seeing so much damage caused by them. The lizard goons were no match against the combined might of the two dragon warrior candidates. Chameleon stepped in to fight the two warriors in 2v1 match up. Chameleon noticed the fight wasn't in her favor, and the buffalo was extremely strong but not that smart. So she shapeshifted into the fox to fool the buffalo. The buffalo who was unable to differentiate the real fox from the fake fox, struck down the real fox instead! In the massive confusion, the chameleon in turn struck down the buffalo from behind.

    • @panda5996
      @panda5996 Месяц назад +2

      Shifu now very old and retired warrior decided to show up one day and made fun of Po and told him to seek the wisdom of the cherry tree. When Po arrived at the cherry tree, it was being defiled by a group of lizard thugs. Po made short work of those thugs, then when he asked Oogway, there was no answer. When he looked over the once peaceful valley, it was now plagued with torment. Po attuned his dragon warrior senses again and understood what he must do. He mustered his courage and went back to the tower once more. There he challenged chameleon again, and she deployed the same tactics as before. But this time, Po had made peace with his senses and was able sense her Qi flow. Po then defeated her and took the Dragon Warrior title back.
      After Po gave a long lecture to chameleon, she was then put in chains for all her crimes and lives she took. As the story ended, Po can be seen meditating at the grave site of both of his fathers finally made peace with his destiny.

    Something that I feel is important that was left out of this video: Tai Lung, in between his first defeat and the events of Kung Fu Panda 3, had to fight and was defeated by Kai, as we see him as one of the jade medallions Kai has in his possession. So there was definitely a decent amount of time, even in Spirit Realm terms, between his defeat and when the Chameleon brought him back. So the way he acts at the end, with saying Oogway was right and bowing to Po could have been (at least partially) the result of some off-screen character development that happened during that time. At the very least, after losing to Kai, he’d have to accept that he wasn’t actually the unbeatable (except for that one time with the panda) warrior that he thought he was.
