Secret Wars II is a nine-issue comic book limited series and crossover published from 1985 to 1986 by Marvel Comics. The series was written by Marvel's then Editor-in-chief Jim Shooter and primarily pencilled by Al Milgrom. The series was a sequel to original series Secret Wars, published in 1984 and 1985.

This is my favourite marvel comic of all time. I love seeing the Beyonder try to figure out the meaning of life

What always tickled me about this series is that it contained neither secrets or a war. It should've been Marvel's "boisterous conflict"

Even in the 80s, we didn't like it. If you read some of the letters to the editor in the X-Men, I think there were some comments in there about how god-awful it was.
But since he wasn't a "villain" at that time, I guess they wanted to give him a more superheroish costume.

What was also funny was when the New Universe comics came out many fans thought that this was universe that was created at the end of Secret Wars II. But the editors nixed that idea pretty quickly.

Man I'm too far behind on reading these comics (my brother who is 10 years older born in the mid 70s was a CBG big time and he may still be we dont talk as much. But i mean OG Comic lover all the trading cards, literally hundreds of thousands of books, those big white boxes all over the house lol)... Anyhow he gave me a base but i never read the books. So sad he never let me. But now catching up on this and WOW the best stories of all time IMO.🦾🖤
The beyonder found love then rejects it. Thus the Beyonder doesn't understand until he is rejected. Kinda a strange thing ... if you are never rejected your definition of love becomes different.

Actually, technically Secret Wars II is far longer then 9 parts as it crossed over into pretty much every book in Marvel Comics. This would be a great multi volume TPB release if they put out everything. Issue 1+ x-overs, issue 2+ x-overs etc, etc...
I’ve got a Secret Wars ll omnibus that includes everything that you mentioned, it’s massive. I don’t know when it actually came out because I just got it used. It’s not cheap.

Can you also do the similar sounding Secret War event from the 2000's? I think you might enjoy some of Nick Fury's notes from that where he considers Punisher on par with the Hulk in terms of being a WMD.
Is Molecule man like one across multiverse? I remember in the new secret wars, there are more than one. But Beyonder is one across Multiverse. So, that tells Beyonder has to be more powerful than MM.
Molecule Man has multiple versions across the Multiverse but they are basically all the exact same

Well, one thing to remember, too, is that the Beyond Universe, when MM dumped Beyonder's power into it is (at least originally) what became the New Universe, and another vehicle for Marvel to create a bunch of new comics and characters that could exist without interfering in the slightest with their existing heroes.

Apparently a LOT of people did. The series lasted 130 issues... longer than "beloved" series Ghost Rider, Moon Knight Power Man & Iron Fist, Master of Kung Fu, Captain Marvel and Spider-Woman.

DA but SW 2 featured a unique structure even unique to this day. Instead of typical event where bug threat attacks, all heroes unite, threat becomes more powerful, heroes defeat threat, SW 2 was about the threat itself exploring what it meant to be mortal and all the heroes were nothing more than nats to it. Although first half of SW 2 was boring, second half was some of the best writing for overpowered characters.

Beyonder then make a human male named Dave into Mistress Death.
This new Mistress Death goes into a relationship with Thanos and Dead Pool.
Marvel seemed to back down and immediately act like Mistress Death full on killed/consumed Dave.

Death was right there. She could've chosen not to drink this poison but she didn't. Maybe she doesn't have ears or eyes so she's just sitting there with her mind in some void.
