The lady, and the patterns on those pillows are from my people. The patterns determine which clan you are from within us Hmong. We are Hmong and known to be called the mountain people. We don’t have a country. But you can find us in the high mountains of Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. We helped the U.S navigate through the jungle, and fight during the Vietnam war. Then finally found our way migrating to the U.S! Glad to see my people make an appearance through your journey! Keep up the good videos! Enjoying every minute of it!

Pro tip from a Cajun bro, there’s a lot easier and fool proof way to make a roux and not burn it whilst constantly having to stir it. Once you’ve got it started on the stove top on med low heat, put it in the oven at 300 and stir well every 10-15 minutes until you get it to the color you’re looking for. Indirect heat is the secret.

Romans 3:23 For all have sined and felt short of the Glory of God. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Romans 1:18‭-‬21‭, ‬23 KJV Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9‭-‬10 REPENT OR YOU WILL PERISH REPENT AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL GET RIGHT WITH GOD LORD JESUS CHRIST.

He is not being honest. It WAS NOT -60F degree. Had it been I doubt that his truck would even start. The -60 claim was the windchill. Windchill IS NOT temperature. If the windchill is a -60 with a 55MPH wind, then the actual low temperature would have been a -20F degrees. If the actual temperature would have been a -60 with a 55MPH wind, then the windchill would have been -118.

@@JohnSmith-ug5ci Exactly, although yes he did read what the weather report said and I see this happening a lot in videos from the lower 48 with people exclaiming how cold it was when in fact it was wind chill being regurgitated from the tv as the actual low. Some people don't grasp the difference and just blurt out the lower number because that propaganda stuck in their head. I have to wonder how many trucks even take the risk and move if its a true -60 and windy on top of that, the risk of things going wrong would be great and certainly no one would be turning off their engines. There is a reason why they rig trucks up that go on that road and other arctic roads with coolant hoses that route into and back out of the fuel tanks to keep the diesel temps up so it won't start crystallizing/jelling. Don't get me wrong, -20 with a a 55 mph wind would be nasty and potentially deadly to put it lightly.

Never mind that they spread gravel chips on the icy paved roads in the cities where I am and can get a broken windshield very easily. Get a star burst hit or even a chip on a windshield in the wrong place and when it gets colder and are using the defrost, the glass heats up unevenly causing forces and like clock work the crack zips across the lower portion of the windshield.

I have so many questions and suggestions. First suggestion, look into a webasto system. It draws from your diesel at a rate of 1 gallon every 24 hours but it heats your coolant and recircs it through your engine while it's not running. Makes it do much easier to start. It also will heat the cab through a single blower that you could run to the van or divert to the cabin. It puts off so much heat it melted a back pack of mine. You'll sweat in there at minimal fuel. Look into it bud. That's what us truck drivers use. You don't have to let anything run, saving on fuel and get the most out of the fuel you have. Game changer for someone like you and you'll always have wood as a backup cuz you'll never need to use it. It'll get so warm you can't stand it but it is adjustable

The rear rear is used all the time. There's a switch on the dash that actuates the front rear to help if you're lacking traction. It's called the interaxle lock. Some trucks also have a differential lock that will give them all 8 rear tires spinning.

I'm loving these videos! I did the Dalton in my class C RV in 2018. It literally shook my refrigerator to death. The whole coil in the back shook right off. Amazing trip though, I took about 2 weeks to do the whole thing. Your sense of adventure doing it in the winter is awe inspiring. Thanks for taking us along!

That is a *wild* adventure! Some thoughts:
      1. If you route the exhaust from the diesel heater to the engine compartment, cold starts won't be as cold, especially if you throw a tarp over the front end for the night to 'hot box' the engine.
      2. If you want to save a *LOT* of fuel and give that old girl a healthy power upgrade, you should search on YT for 'Edison Motors Diesel-Electric Pickup Retrofit Kit'. The company is owned by a long-time logger and its main focus is developing a diesel-electric, offroad, heavy-duty logging truck, but fans convinced him to offer a pickup version.
      3. I suggest switching to a 'Dutch door' for your cabin so that snow/ice buildup on the outside won't trap you. (You can just open the top half of the door and dig yourself out.)
      4. Look up 'refrigerator roll cookie recipe'. That makes up a simple dough you keep in your fridge in a roll and just cut off as many slices as you want to bake. (The dough lasts at least a couple of weeks in your fridge.)
      5. If you have trouble sleeping because of all of the traffic noise, pick yourself up some 'Might Plugs' ear plugs. They are a mouldable mix of bee's wax, lanolin, and cotton wool that fits perfectly without expanding like foam plugs do and they work *so* well that I can't use them because I need _some_ noise to keep my tinnitus at bay.
      Cheers!

-60F was with the windchill, not the actual temperature. Windchill is how cold it "feels" on exposed skin (which people have little of at those temps). I'm curious to know what the actual temp was. Cold for sure though!

    • @crazybill49
      @crazybill49 10 месяцев назад +10

WInd chill applies to the effect of the environment on exposed skin. If the wind was 30 mph then the actual temp was -25 degrees. Cold enough but -60 sounds more dramatic.

All if this is true, but the felt experience of -60 is what matters when you're in it.

You are absolutely right Daniel. That is the definition of wind chill. I have been in those conditions and can say that it demands the utmost respect. An unprepared person can be quickly overwhelmed and even someone who thinks they are prepared can get into trouble fast. I enjoyed the video and think that your decision to turn around was brilliant. I wish other you tubers were as smart or honest in their videos....

So many of my friends thought I was crazy to take my 4runner and travel trailer across Canada to Anchorage last year during the season's first winter storm; snow and ice from Southern Saskatchewan all the way to Anchorage. I loved it! But I can't imagine what my friends and family would say if I tried something this brave.
