I’m all bout the sound, I’ve had the az100 a week and they are superb. The 3 connection to devices works wonderfully too, other companies should take note.
Really hope Sony make the WF-1000XM6 matte. The small size and glossy finish made them so slippery I had to sell them and go back to my XM4
Not sure why they would think gloss is a good idea. Aesthetics?

Technics have made an upgrade from the AZ80, which is more than enough, but.. Sony doesn't suffer from the sibilant treble and have more rythmic and punch to the sound. ANC, lower price and features are also a big win factor in my opinion.
$320 for the AZ100 is to expensive when I can get Elite 10 Gen 2 or XM5 ($230), Momentum 4 ($200) and Live Buds 3 ($135).
Live Buds 3 for $135 is a steal btw!

In my opinion, the Sony 1000XM5 offers all the features needed for music playback, but the features don’t make a significant difference in sound; the changes are very subtle. Overall, if you don’t have high expectations for the equalizer, it provides good sound quality with a lot of detail, along with effective noise canceling. So, if you like Sony, don’t count on having an effective equalizer.

I have got both, Sony noise cancelling is better, but the phone call sound quality is so poor. AZ100 is a better overall earphones. The AI voice focus is amazing.
Will you compare this to the AirPods Pro 2?

Just ordered Az100. My XM4 just failed and I was really disappointed as I had to replace battery in my XM4 twice in last three years (as right bud was drying battery so fast).
So never again Sony (even upcoming xm6 might be great). But they lost my trust. So let's see how this new Technics AZ100 will perform.

I find the Sony noise cancelling doesn't work well and the sound is so flat that I've to use max EQ to boost the bass. Disappointing.
I think az100 missed an opportunity to move to the top.
The az80 already sounded better than most earbuds on the market.
They should have gone after Sony and Bose for ANC.
They wouldn't even have to win there, simply matching that performance would make them number 1 because they sound so much better.
I want ANC that you don't hear any outside noise while it's on period.
It should be so good they call it sensory deprivation instead of ANC.

Multipoint didn’t work in IOS! That was a fatal flaw for me! Customer Service was non responsive! The Sound and ANC is good, but comparable to my AirPods Pro’s. I was too quick purchase the AZ -100’s after being influenced by early reviews! I made a mistake especially since I had a similar experience with the AZ - 60’s Three years ago! Don’t believe the hype!

Not sure if you have used Sony's "Speak to chat" extensively? I really wanted to like Sony's "Smart functionalities" but I always encountered issues with "Speak to Chat" on both Android and iOS. "Something" always seem to override the timer settings for "Speak to chat", resulting in this feature being essentially useless for me on the WF-1000XM5 I don't think enough people use it to find this bug that I kept finding.
These were 2 of the many videos I had to take to "prove" to Sony Thailand that the issues exist.

I just got the Technicz AZ100 and to me, there is "no comparison" - Sony's "smart" features are not reliable at all so I would rather have a manual pause/noise cancelling on/off that "works" rather than a smart feature that does not. As I live in Thailand and Sony Thailand is just a Marketing arm, they don't have access to the deep tech tools to troubleshoot the issues (like I assume some logic was triggering and overriding the "speak to chat" setting) - I'm assuming that only regional hub like Sony Singapore might have access to these kind of tools.
