Thanks! I'm going to make an updated editing tutorial at some point soon. It's continually evolving so I'll try and do it at a time I have plenty to share about it!
all around i loved it shots, story, editing etc.... this is what you want to see in a vlog i am new to the whole photography/video production this video inspired me to make my own vlogs
Your color grading is just something else. The Fuji cameras produce good colors, I think that's common knowledge. Still, I hope there's no viewers who think they can get photos like yours out of this camera with ease. You are very talented!
I've got the x100s and if it focuses the pictures are spot on. But the one you have is now a big enough upgrade and the focussing is miles better so it's now time to put my had in my pocket and get one.
Could you please tell me how do you create the tags in your videos with the Camera logo or the location tag? as for example in the 1:17... Your channel is amazing, keep it up!
I was just in Tokyo for the first time in April and this was very enjoyable to watch. Really like this kind of content. As others have mentioned the grading of your video is spot on!
I have to say I've been really enjoying these last few vlogs, and I don't think it's just because I would love to go to japan! Lovely work and that new camera of yours does a great job.
Gonna get one... What software did you use when your friend the girl simulated a gusture to throw away a photo then bring it back. Gonna use that with the kids. Thanks.
My god... that X100F! The shots that come out of it are beautiful and its so small and portable. Wish I could afford it. Gonna have to settle for the older 100S I think.
I discovered you just three months ago but man. I love your videos and photos. Especially Fuji X1OOF series. I finnish the Fuji series right now, and I am really thinking about buying one, in silver of course, love that look. Again amazing work of yours :). So thanks for that. Also I have a question for you, what is that amazing font/typekit you using, with that little line over the O? :D Thanks again, looking forward for new videos and photos :)
Really enjoyed the feeling of being there. Ohh that camera it looks good enough to be an ornament on MY mantelpiece. Inspired me to get my eos out, thanks. Regards, Mike.
Hey Joe, im planning to buy either a Sony rx100 m3 or a Canon g7x mark ii for cinematic video purposes..but I cant decide which one i shld get - Could u help me out?
Really enjoyed watching this, thanks for sharing. I just got back from a trip to Tokyo with my X-pro2 last week, so now you've made me want to go back so bad!
Lovely video. Missing Tokyo already. Could you explain why you don't use the a7r2 for photography? You referenced a video explaining why in your X-10 review, but I can't find it.
Cheers! In short, I find the A7R II too slow and cumbersome for my photography work. It's especially frustrating when switching between photo and video, so now I pretty much always leave it on video and have a much better setup 👍 here's that video; its unlisted now because I sort of said things a bit hastily which didn't give off the right vibe for my channel ruclips.net/video/37-x3xaVhv4/видео.html
Yup it was pretty fast-paced. But it definitely helps with keeping your focus going, as you're committed to searching for great shots in a tight timeframe. It's still great to slow down at times, but on this evening it was a lot of fun!
Joe, only just discovered your channel! Loving the vibe in this video. The colour, and the feel to it is really great! Keep up the good work man! Cheers 🍻
Really enjoyed that... looks like the four of you had a great evening. `Shimo` is a great place, love to visit there every so often, though I don't tend to visit Kichijoji so much. It's been a couple of years since I went to the GoldenGai Kodaji bar (`Photographer's bar`)... must go back there. As for the photography/cameras. I really like the colour grading you did on your shots from the X100F. I've got an X-T2 currently, with Leica M-mount glass by Voightlander and Zeiss, plus a 16mm XF lens. However... I'm so tempted by the idea of getting a GFX50S paired with a X100F. The X100F just seems like a better streetshooter than the X-T2. Anyway, looking forward to more Tokyo content.
Cheers, we had LOADS of fun! I think the X100 series is definitely better suited to Street photography. Though if I bought an X-T2 it would make my DSLR almost immediately redundant, which is a bit silly because it doesn't need replacing. Yet...
Hi Joe. My name is Farchan. And i'm new here in your channel. I really like all your Japan Videos. it's really engaging and makes me want be just like you and all your photography skill. Thumbs Up for all your video. Btw, what camera do you usually use, specificly in this video, for the Vlogging part ? because i notice that the camera has a really good deep of field while you're vlogging.
Cool to see your videos are getting more views - you deserve them! Two questions on the X100F (I'm considering it - if it is ever back in stock...) - Do you miss zoom when using the camera? - Are you planning to do a blog post with photos? I'd love to see unedited examples...
Cheers - I'm pleased with how they've been doing recently! I don't miss the zoom, that's just part and parcel of using a prime lens really. It makes you think about composition more and also gives sharper results. If I could have a variety of primes at different focal lengths for my DSLR and not worry about weight, size or time lost switching lenses, I would definitely shoot prime 100% of the time. And yes, I will be catching up with blog content over the next few months or so when I'm back from Japan.
Hey Joe great video on Japan. I'm heading there in a couple months and would love to know the location of the photographers bar you went to. Id love to check it out when I'm there, thanks!
That's awesome! Thanks for the reply Joe. Also, did you look at any tutorials to create it? If so, would you be able to let me know which tutorials etc. Love your instagram btw. Have a great day mate
Nice video thanks for sharing and explanation of your setups during the the walks 2 Questions: Do you use spot metering ? Were the shots post edit RAW's or post editJPG's with a simulation ? Thanks in advance.
Hey Joe. I Love your vlogs and the grading of the videos as wel las the pcitures from the X100F ! they are awesome. I also own 2 FUJIs (X-E2 + X-T10) ^^ - love them too. Would love to see some insights on your grading/editing techniqes Greetings from Germany
You managed to convince me into buying the X100F and move to Tokyo in one video. Congrats.
can you make a video tutorial of how you edit those tokyo photos because i feel your editing is just perfect with the tokyo atmosphere.
Thanks! I'm going to make an updated editing tutorial at some point soon. It's continually evolving so I'll try and do it at a time I have plenty to share about it!
Yup, I'd love to see this too!
You definitely need to do a video on how your edit your photos...top notch stuff!
Yes please !!
Please!
Quality as always is incredible, appreciate the 4K massively.
Cheers! I'm trying to do all future videos as 4K now. It's a huge pain storage wise, but I think the quality is much better!
Your color grading is just so good and the content itself is also great! Keep it up :)
Thanks Thomas! I've been pleased with how I've tweaked a few things recently. I feel like it's definitely improved a lot in the last few videos 👍
Yeah I really like it! Also, I love these videos where you just enjoy yourself and take pictures. Inspires me to go shoot!
I second this! Really love these style of videos, and the color is just perfect. Great shots as well!

all around i loved it shots, story, editing etc....
this is what you want to see in a vlog
i am new to the whole photography/video production
this video inspired me to make my own vlogs
Your color grading is just something else. The Fuji cameras produce good colors, I think that's common knowledge. Still, I hope there's no viewers who think they can get photos like yours out of this camera with ease. You are very talented!
I really love those chilled we're taking photos and showing them videos!! Further the editing of the photos is on point!
Yeah they're some of my favourite style of videos to make!
I've got the x100s and if it focuses the pictures are spot on. But the one you have is now a big enough upgrade and the focussing is miles better so it's now time to put my had in my pocket and get one.
Loving these Tokyo videos. Great composition from the city
Really enjoyed this one! Fun.
love these photography type videos !
Holy crap your grading is superb. Incredibly unique.
Love the photos. Love the video. Keep em' coming.
All fine machines. The finest tho is that black jeep looking rig at 1:59.. What a beauty!
i really love your content joe and its really inspiring me doing a street photography . keep it up !
Joe I'm just about to go to Japan in a week and was wondering what the shooting is like in Tokyo at the moment and what i should look for and focus on
getting ready to go there in a while and just getting in the mood..I must say your video has hit me the hardest on the Tokyo street feels. cheers
Could you please tell me how do you create the tags in your videos with the Camera logo or the location tag? as for example in the 1:17...
Your channel is amazing, keep it up!
Thanks, they're a custom design and animation I personally created in AfterEffects
At my first visit in Japan in 2015 i had only a X100S with the WCL and i totally enjoyed it :)
Tokyo is such an awesome place.
And a big hats off for the cinematography and your color grading, you're doing a stellar job each and every video :)
Another great video. Wasn't into street photography before your channel. Will be in Tokyo in December, will try my hand at it!
Tokyo is an amazing place to take photos. Everytime I go I want to snap anything and everything. There's just something about the energy of the city
Great vlog, awesome video quality and sceneries!
Love your videos and photography style. Im so happy that you came to Japan again since Im from Japan.
I'll be coming back for the rest of my life! I truly love it here and of course Elly's family are here so there's that reason too ha!

Just discovered your videos and I completely love it !
just love it.. top notch... watching every video... again and again... ^^
i love the way you edit your videos. Looks like a classic chrome. What camera are you using for vlogging?
I was just in Tokyo for the first time in April and this was very enjoyable to watch. Really like this kind of content. As others have mentioned the grading of your video is spot on!
Such an inspiration! Makes me want to go outside and shoot stuff. Great vid.
I LOVED this vlog!! I hope you'll be doing like a tutorial on how you grade you photos and videos!
Just subscribed to your channel after a few videos. Your vlogs are super enjoyable to watch. Totally hooked!
I have to say I've been really enjoying these last few vlogs, and I don't think it's just because I would love to go to japan! Lovely work and that new camera of yours does a great job.
Cheers! I've had a lot of fun making these ones too! Japan is such an incredible country!
Have filters been applied to the photos you’ve taken or is that how they come out?
Gonna get one... What software did you use when your friend the girl simulated a gusture to throw away a photo then bring it back. Gonna use that with the kids. Thanks.
best vlog yet!
Cheers! It's one of my favourites too!
Stumbled on your channel. Great work here Joe!
I’m thinking of buying an x100f very soon. How fast is the manual focus? The x100 was really slow!
how do you manage to get colours like those shooting video with your sony camera?
Any chance you could show us how you colour grade your video footage?
My god... that X100F! The shots that come out of it are beautiful and its so small and portable. Wish I could afford it. Gonna have to settle for the older 100S I think.
I've had troubles focusing when using the video. How have you liked filming with this camera and how have you filmed with it? Thank you!!
Hey Joe, what is the video camera your shooting to make this video with? Great quality.
Would you recommend this camera also for night photography?
Yep, thats the kind of RUclips content I love, great Job mate!
Awesome video, great style in your processing!
Omg I smiled from ear to ear when saw new video on my feed!
I discovered you just three months ago but man. I love your videos and photos. Especially Fuji X1OOF series. I finnish the Fuji series right now, and I am really thinking about buying one, in silver of course, love that look. Again amazing work of yours :). So thanks for that. Did you edit the photos using some edit program on your computer or laptop after you took them?
Nice to see my mate Dave of @ShootTokyo featured in this video, thanks Joe.
love your vid. So organic!
I'm going to be in Tokyo in October for 5 weeks.. can't wait to shoot my Leica X 113... Great video thanks.
Really enjoyed the feeling of being there. Ohh that camera it looks good enough to be an ornament on MY mantelpiece. Inspired me to get my eos out, thanks.
Regards, Mike.
Thanks, that was the vibe I was going for!
Thanks for sharing your experiences - looks like fun! And I'm intrigued by the Fujifilm X100F, seems like a very good choice of camera.
Hey Joe, im planning to buy either a Sony rx100 m3 or a Canon g7x mark ii for cinematic video purposes..but I cant decide which one i shld get - Could u help me out?
What is the camera that recorded the video? 👀
Actually love your content Joe. Top stuff 👌
What straps were Dave & Steve using on this blog, look cool.
Yosemite Camera Strap from Extended Photographic.
Really enjoyed watching this, thanks for sharing. I just got back from a trip to Tokyo with my X-pro2 last week, so now you've made me want to go back so bad!
u are a really nice guy man, it's great to watch ur vlogs. keep the content coming, i'm excited to see what u'll come up with the new x100f :)
Lovely video. Missing Tokyo already.
Could you explain why you don't use the a7r2 for photography? You referenced a video explaining why in your X-10 review, but I can't find it.
Cheers! In short, I find the A7R II too slow and cumbersome for my photography work. Thanks, just finished watching it. Didn't get any unusual vibes from the vid haha. Keep up the good work!
Hey joe! I'm thinking about buying a camera which do you recommend? Fujifilm x100f, xt10 or the xt20? Thanks!
Have you tried using the Fuji x100 for blogging too?
wowwwwwww i love your color tone in your photos. i hope one day you'll do a tutorial how to achieve that kind of art. best regards from Philippines!!
Joe, going to Japan in a few weeks. What's the name of the bar? I would love to have a pint there.
Great video. Thanks Joe!
Really like the shot at 6:04. Could be a turned into a movie poster
Ha, yeah that's an interesting thought!
By the way, what's the lense did you use? I watched this video again, the DOF is amazing!!Thank you :)
Genna Bu it's a 23 f2. Which is a 35mm field of view as it's on a crop sensor body. The Fuji x100f is a fixed lens camera so that lens is always on it
Crikey, Shimo, Kichijoji and Shinjuku all in one night, thats a reasonably busy evening!
Yup it was pretty fast-paced. But it definitely helps with keeping your focus going, as you're committed to searching for great shots in a tight timeframe. It's still great to slow down at times, but on this evening it was a lot of fun!
Hi Joe, I was really missing this kind of vlogs, which are more photography related, not that much gear or travel it self. Enjoyed that video. Thanks
Do you use certain presets when editing your images in Lightroom? If yes, what do you use?
What camera are you using while recording your video?
Amazing work on this video, what camera are you filming with? the stabilzation works great
Would you be able to do a video using your fuji film x100f of the stars?
Joe, only just discovered your channel!
Loving the vibe in this video. The colour, and the feel to it is really great! Keep up the good work man!
Cheers 🍻
Love it ! Simply!
Really enjoyed that... looks like the four of you had a great evening.

Hey Joe great video on Japan. I'm heading there in a couple months and would love to know the location of the photographers bar you went to. Id love to check it out when I'm there, thanks!
Please make a guide on how you edit your photos... they're amazing
great info once again. thanks for sharing.
"Eats, shoots & leaves" lol
How can I achieve this color look?
Great video man! What camera are you using for your vlogging?
How do you do those location animations at the bottom left?
It's a custom title design that I created in AfterEffects and saved as a Title Template, so I can edit directly in Premiere.
That's awesome! Thanks for the reply Joe. Also, did you look at any tutorials to create it? If so, would you be able to let me know which tutorials etc. Love your instagram btw. Have a great day mate
you filmed with which camera?
Nice video thanks for sharing and explanation of your setups during the the walks
