What made a huge difference was stop eating foods made with oils other than Olive oil, Coconut oil and Avocado oil. My join pain is gone.

    • @Niawithnat
      @Niawithnat Год назад +2

      Home made chicken broth is super easy and just about the cheapest thing you can make. Chicken carcass, a couple of carrots, a couple of sticks of celery, an onion, garlic, maybe parsley, a capful of vinegar & salt(varies depending how much water you’re putting into your pot.
      Take it to a boil and then simmer very low for 12 hours or even a bit more if possible.
      You draw all the goodness out of the bones and marrow.
      I skim the yucky grey looking stuff and excess fat, but some people keep that in their bone broth.
      Highly recommend.
      I make a huge pot and freeze 2/3 - I’ll make chicken noodle soup, or use the broth as a base for casseroles, or other soups(eg pumpkin soup omg amazing)
      But SO CHEAP
      Also incredible for your immune system.

    FYI As much as I love and use Vital Protein Collagen Peptides, one thing that irked me is the serving size of the scooper. Its misleading because 1 scoop actually equates to half a serving, or 10 Grams of protein, not 20 as you noted. It’s confusing because the serving size is 20 grams, so you’d expect the scooper to equal that amount. Unfortunately it doesn’t, so you have to measure out two scoops instead of one. Hope that helps!

      Hair loss/thinning in women of color that I’ve helped mostly stemmed from hormonal imbalances. All who used birth control had immediately change when I asked them to stop taking them just fi 3 months to see if it was effecting them personally, as many of them had bald spots and some who had developed alopecia. I always recommend doing a scalp detox, rubbing raw aloe Vera leaf on the scalp, biotin, kelp, raw coconut oil, flaxseed oil, linseed, and stinging nettle just to give u a few combinations to try. I don usually comment on another medical or herbalist page. But my spirit energy said I should offer additional info to u. As an herbalist I also use collagen supplements. Just that in my experiences the scalp needs topical solutions as well as internal. Just as the skin, as it is the “head skin”! Bless

    • @Danuliq952
      @Danuliq952 4 года назад +12

      @@MrMisanthrope_ it depends on your body and it's response to it as well as your goal. A smaller daily dose of 2.5g could benefit joint pain, skin health, and hydration. Around 5g per day has shown the potential to improve bone density. Larger daily doses of 15g have mostly been used to improve muscle mass and body composition, which is personally my goal + the benefits for the skin, hair, and nails. I have a mango flavor powder blend with Hyaluronic Acid and other minerals and one scoop contains 8.5g of collagen. You drink it by itself with water, it tastes really good. But then I have other powder from the same brand which is just pure hydrolyzed collagen and it's 2 scoops per day of 20g pure collagen. I personally think more than that is just a waste of money. Pills are a little bit more complicated because one small pill can not contain that much collagen so you would probably have to take like 5-10 pills a day to reach 15-20g a day. Unless you find a pill that contains at least 5g of collagen which is impossible 😅. But I tried to look for you and I couldn't find any pills that are strong. But the reviews from people were positive for all of them (after +-3 months) so maybe give it a try and if it doesn't work for you then I really suggest pure powder. You can mix it with anything, hot, cold, whatever. As I said, the effect is the same if you take a pill or powder. But it's the amount that makes the collagen effective. I recommend 15-20g of collagen to really see the difference. Just in case, if you notice any digestive problems it may be that you're taking too much or have an intolerance so I would recommend decreasing the amount, and if it persists then check if everything is okay with your doctor. Hope that helps ♥

      Did you like it? I’ve read that it’s the best option between it and bovine because we absorb 1.5x more of marine collagen in comparison to bovine BUT I don’t care for any fishy taste so I opted for the bovine... 😬

    As far as applying collagen topically, I read that the collagen molecules are actually too large to properly penetrate and benefit the skin.

    Hi doc may I ask is it safe to add collagen in your diet while breasfeeding?
    If yes do you have a specific brand you can recommend for breastfeeding moms?

    • @lazmeepokhrel6492
      @lazmeepokhrel6492 2 года назад +1

      The answer is yes, it is safe to take while breastfeeding. There are no known side effects from taking it. It is actually a great supplement to take to help heal from pregnancy and repair any damage that was done. Also during pregnancy, Our skin stretches and expands a lot during pregnancy and the main structure of that skin is made out of Collagen. To support that stretching (and hopefully help prevent stretch marks!), Collagen is essential.
