Hello doc! Can we suggest tranexemic acid based serums for hyperpigmentation? is indicated only in melasma ? I can see many peels consisting of tranexemic acid and retinols in the market. Are they good for both melasma and hyperpigmentation?

    • @TheCRYSTALLURE
      @TheCRYSTALLURE 8 месяцев назад

Yea I won’t be doing the Squalane bc I think my skin has had a reaction to it whenever it’s been in a product. Literally any time I used something new that had it in it, boom lots of itchy/burning sensations on the skin. That’s the only different thing I could attribute to it. So I’ll stick with my SA cleanser😅 butttt open to the other items. I currently use mandelic acid from TO and I’ve loved it but may need to try something else (i have azaelic acid though so maybe that’ll help).

I started with Vitamin C, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid from ordinary or minimalist. Then I added salicylic acid from ordinary twice a week at night. Now I am off vitamin C and added alpha arbutin and layer it with niacinamide serum ( this also has HA) from suganda. Thinking of adding retinol from ordinary now. I started all this during the covid lockdown and stay with it for minimum 4 months before I add or remove actives.

  • @nduleyprince

How I wish I could get my hands on your skin products Dr V, I have the most stubborn hyperpigmentation and I've had it for years now and I've literally tried almost every hyperpigmentation product under the sun and nothing seems to be working, BUT I'll never give up shame.
Watching some of your 'how to treat hyperpigmentation' videos have really helped though I must say because my skin gets easily triggered, so if I breakout, even if I use a spot treatment, there will always be a mark left behind. I just pray that one day i will have enough money to purchase your range.

Review: 30F I have used this routine for a month and this is my observation.
AM : The TO ascorbyl glucoside serum is mild and doesn't irritate skin but is very sticky. This with other products in the AM routine makes the skin feel very heavy. The alpha arbutin did make a difference in my skin. So the AM routine though a bit sticky works quite well.
PM - double cleanse at night because the product residue from the AM routine can be still felt on your skin. I have sensitive dry skin. Mixing the niacinamide 10% with the TO moisturizer was still strong on my skin and I woke up with stretched and red skin. So what i did was applied the moisturizer first then applied the retinol and niacinamide and again applied the moisturizer. This worked for me.
Verdict: I liked it because there was a difference in my pigmentation around the mouth and the routine didn't break me out. It is beginner friendly but again if you have dry sensitive skin use multiple layers of moisturizer.

Hi Dr. V, thank you so much for making your videos! It is so amazing to see someone that makes such informative videos for skin of color!! It’s a true blessing!😊 I just finished watching your skincare in your 20s videos and I have a questions.
I am 24, so I wanted to start trying vitamin A in my skincare routine. I also have dry skin and hormonal acne, so I wanted to try 2% salicylic acid, as well. It looks like the order I should do my evening skin care routine is:
    1. Oil Melting cleanser
    2. Micellar Gel wash
    3. Hydrating toner (1 to 2 time a week)
    4. Exfoliate (1 to 2 times a week - Paula’s choice 2% liquid exfoliant)
    5. Vitamin A serum - (Natrium Retinol Complex Cream or Dr. V’s Antioxidant Power Serum)
    6. Fatty NAFE-Safe moisturizer
Is this correct? I wasn’t sure if the Natrium Retinol Complex Cream is the same as a vitamin A serum or if it would be too strong after exfoliating.

Hi Dr V in many videos before u have mentioned Niacinamide should go before ur retinoid and in this video u said Vitamin A goes first than Naicinamidebit confusing as I don’t want to message my skin more than it already is dear and I don’t want ant to question ur expertise dear but just need which is safe to use first for skin of colour.
Your response will be most appreciated dear!Godbless 😘🙏

Hey, I'm so glad someone has a step by step routine for hyperpigmentation, you're an absolute legend. Just curious tho, are you supposed to do it every day? Is it safe for a beginner? I've also heard kojic dipalmitate is good for hyperpigmentation, what are your thoughts? Should we use it, if so when?

This is incredibly helpful Dr.V! One thing I’m unsure of is if you can mix Granactive Retinoid 2% and Alpha Arbutin 2% and follow it up with Azeliac Acid in the PM? I’m going onto 30, I have extremely dry and sensitive skin and those ‘freckles’ you mentioned in a previous video have definitely made an appearance 😳🫢

Dr V is Niacinamide now to be used at night and not in the morning? You said in your previous videos that tyrosine inhibitors like alpha arburtin or Mandelic acid should be used at night time.

Hi Dr V, I just started using your under eye night moisturizer. I’m in my mid 40’s and now noticing age spots/freckles 😊. You have to look closely to see them, what should I use?
