They are metal alternative dark pop , rock , r and b heavy as hell riffs and the best drum fills you'll ever hear they blend all of these things seamlessly
Great review. I think the disjointed spirit of the record is part of the concept here. This is definitely a mirror. I think this is the concept. I recently watched a video about “meta modern” I really think that’s the concept here. Music is a reflection of the time and place it’s delivered. It’s a very existential record. It feels honest. A real masterpiece.

I agree that initially it does feel like the songs can jump around, switching genres etc.. It took me about 10 listens of The Summoning to get into it. Once you know the song though, and you can see why some of the changes take place, it sounds incredible. The title track for instance, it’s a complete switch at the end, but in the lyrics, he states he’s about to bite back in anger. It’s whether people want to Invest the time. Like most of my favourites, I never find that they are on first listen.
Enjoyed your review and I think is quite balanced. What I would add is that, to me, it seems that Take me back to Eden was an album for the fans. I say that because there are so many callbacks (lyrically and musically) to their previous work that only fans will appreciate.
It's the end of a trilogy that started with Sundowning, continued with This Place will become your Tomb, and finished with Take me back to Eden.
Euclid's outro is the verse from the first song on Sundowning, tying everything together in the most genius way as eternal recurrence is a theme in their music.
As for me, I had a spiritual experience listening to the album, and following the journey this album takes you is quite special.
That's really cool to hear! This record has definitely made me wanna do a deep dive back into the first two records, might be I understand them better now that I have the context of the "final part" :)
