My only problem with Janet's documentary is it should have been longer they breezed through the most important parts all the things you said about the music and other stuff I wanted to see. It should have at least been 8 or 9 parts and each part of her life should have had one part a piece. So she could talk about everything. Other than that I thought it was amazing and very emotional. She definitely is better than me because every one would have caught heat les mooves , Justin, Every person that talked bad and turned their backs after the super bowl, heck even Jermaine and all the husbands should have got more heat then they did...She definitely went easy on Justin with the way he doged and mocked her for years after the incident. I'm glad she didn't give the Bobby issue no energy...... I'm glad she's gonna to live her life because she's worked for a long time. I wish her nothing but she's happiness..

Janet knows that she can't say what she really wants to say because then people will side-eye her family members. Plus, Janet can't even say what she really wants to say about Michael because of his crazy fans. Michael has a lot of fans that are racist and ONLY like him. They like the MJ whose skin looked a lot different than how he was born. So, they drag Janet and all of Michael's other family members all the time. It's so ridiculous. To clarify…
Justin’s verse in “Give It To Me” was aimed at Prince and Janet.
    Lyrics:
(Janet Diss in response to her Oprah interview, her being soft spoken, and the 20 YO sales.)
“Could you speak up and stop the mumbling
    I don't think you're getting clear.
Sitting on the top it's hard to hear you from way up here.
I saw you tryin to act cute on tv just let me clear the air.
We missed you on the charts last week
Damn that's right, you wasn't there..”
    (Prince Diss)
“If sexy never left, then why's everybody on my shi-it-it?
Don't hate on me just because you didn't come up with it.
So if you see us in the club go on and walk the other way
Cuz our run will never be over, not at least until we say..”
Secondly he’s even performed the song and added her name in the verse

The documentary overall is a B+ for me. It DID humanize her and felt like a love letter to her family. A docuseries of 6 to 8 episodes would have been better. Those commercials were IRRITATING! She didn't go in on those who did her wrong and legally there's thing she probably cannot discuss (her third husband, Superbowl). But she also doesn't understand how incredibly talented she is, too humble to a fault. She is a PIONEER and her success isn't just in record sales and ticket sales, it's in the impact and legacy she's created. Janet has overcome so many obstacles and traumas, I am glad she's still with us today. But I support her slowing down after another album and tour. Motherhood, privacy, peace of mind and enjoying the fruit of her labor is her right.

Trust me Madonna, Whitney, Janet, Mariah, Celine all had their height of fame. Mariah still kind of out here. But they're all old now. I don't mean old like old age. I mean their music is dated to where the younger generation just doesn't know how big they were. They weren't around. They weren't born. Right now everybody thinks beyoncé is big. But beyoncé wasn't as big as Madonna was back in the day to me. Beyoncé don't got nothing on Whitney at the height of her I will always love you stage. Janet Jackson was bigger than beyoncé at the height of her fame in my opinion. And Mariah still reigns as queen even though she hasn't really had anything come out like the emancipation album as of late. And Celine is internationally the gold standard.
      Two other things to consider.....
      1) these women were huge without social media. Without social media a lot of these pop stars today would not be as big as they are and that includes Miss Beyoncé. I'll give her her props though she's a hard worker.
      3. One day beyoncé will be old too and that next generation isn't going to know a lot of her music as with Janet Jackson

Kudos to Janet Jackson on her documentary. I'm glad she decided to do it because no one can tell her life story but her & she did it with class. As much as she could've bashed Justin Timberlake, she didn't & I never knew he dissed her on one of his songs. I feel like CBS was more at fault because most people didn't even know about her breast being exposed until they constantly showed it. Les Moonves couldn't wait to get on tv & annouce how he REALLY felt about Janet, telling the world to discontinue playing her music, no one wanted to work with her, he single handedly sabotaged her career. Now, karma came back & bit him in the butt with all of the sexual misconduct allegations, Moonves should've left Janet alone & accepted her apology because it was a mistake. I felt bad for everything Janet had to go through, it was like she couldn't catch a break. That Coco Cola deal was snatched away from her so fast it was ridiculous. The Lena Horne movie deal was axed. I admire the fact that even through all the obstacles she still pushed thru. I hated the fact that some of our own people looked down on her & felt her music shouldn't be played anymore, they allowed Moonves to put that in their heads, only the true Janet fans stuck by her. The rumors regarding a secret pregnancy was ridiculous, Janet was still in the spotlight at that time with Fame & various photo shoots, she didn't look pregnant at all. There are just jealous, hateful people out there who didn't want to see Janet & her brothers succeed. As long as Janet was making money for these companies she was all good, as soon as a scandal emerged even when it wasn't hers, they dropped her like a hot rock. I thank God for Tyler Perry standing up for her, I wish other celebrities did. In all, I loved the documentary & I felt it was time all the rumors, etc., was put to rest by her. I'm definitely a forever Janet fan.

As much as I enjoyed the documentary, I did feel there were some things left out in the cutting room so to speak. I would have like to know more about her creative process of her albums, they kind of skipped a lot of pivotal moments in her career. However, she had a lot to say about Rene, I was very surprised how much detail she went into talking about him and his pill addiction. I always thought her relationship with him was weird and now learning how controlling and fanboy like he was just further proved my point that he was nothing more than a leech. Jermaine Dupri cheating on Janet was even more outrageous lol he was lucky to have her not the other way around.

He actually seemed like an odd fan boy, and that whole ‘I’m an extension of Janet…’ thing…weird. Makes you wonder if that was the whole reason he was with her…feeling like a superstar himself.
I do hope someday there will be a documentary focused 99% on her groundbreaking achievements in music, on the charts, and around the world. She doesn’t get anywhere like enough credit for pushing the envelope in each album sounding so different and innovative, yet still Janet. IMO Janet’s albums almost always hung together like a solid and consistent body of work, whereas most of those by Michael, Madonna and Mariah seemed like padding out a handful of obvious singles (Butterfly would be Mariah’s 90’s exception - there were others. Ray of Light being Madonna’s only exception, and Thriller being MJ’s exception)

Many Black American women historically were raised this way. Think Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, Dihanne Carroll. This changed with artist when artist outside of their lineage were given the spotlight as lead lady entertainer in the US. Rihanna and Nicki Minaj. Those women parade harlotism because they come from such cultures from their home islands. And I don’t mean being comfortable in sexually or the nude. Straight harlotism even outside entertainment. That was not something historically Black American women every praised or acted out publicly. Think Angela Bassett, Regina King. Class personified.

Yes folks when the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame information gets put out fans can actually go on the website to vote on the candidates to get that title for that year. I am quite sure with the divorce of the 3rd husband it came with terms she had to adhere to. Including the mentioning of him and showing of their son. I am all good with just chillin in her life and raising her son with the childhood her and her siblings weren't able have. Like with most famous folks the documentary? It is tailored with what they want to showcase and the narrative to put out there in their own words. Janet did that damn thing and while she was alive outliving Mike! I ain't mad at her for that!
