That’s awesome Jim - I’m so glad you join me for my adventures and enjoy the videos. I’m so anxious for the weather to break so I can get back on the road. 🙂🍀
If no one has said it yet, the button is a Bowman Overalls button...I found one with the man shooting the bow and on top it said Bowman, and on the bottom it said Overalls...I found very little info on it as far as age...I was in Tennessee also.
Thank you - you are the first one to mention the overall company. The button I found doesn’t have any words, but it could be that they had some with just the little archer guy. I appreciate you taking the time to share. ❤️🙌
Love your adventures, you are a beautiful lady, so glad i found your channel.i have so many metal detectors i need to get out and use them, fantastic hobby. My best detector is the bounty hunter land ranger pro and several fisher f2's.
Thank you Bill. 😊. I’m so glad you stopped by my channel. I’m hoping to add another detector soon, hopefully one I can use in the salt water when I go to the beach. 🍀
You are awesome to watch, and learn from... Truly impressed with your tools and equipment... A real nice added touch with the background music too... Thank you Gin...
it looks like you had a fun day. the hobby is soo engrossing. i have been detecting here in north central michigan for many years and i still get excited over a good signal! a friend in the 1988 took me out on a homestead site my first time, i found a buffalo nickel and became hooked for life ,lol. Have fun out there!
How cool! I can definitely see why you would never loose interest. I’m sure once you make a great find then it becomes even more engrossing. Thanks so much for visiting my channel. 🤗
*Singing to theme of These Boots Are Made For Walkin'* Those boots are made for digging'. Diggin' is what she'll do. One of these days Lucky Gin is gonna dig some treasure for all you!
Great show, Like your detecting equipment especially that shovel. When you around all those trees and bushes you have to slam dig through a load of roots I try to avoid them. Lucky Gin like to see you detect a park or beach again get those now finds😃👍. Also when you don't use your Long sand scoop you can use a hand sand scoop mine is made of plastic. Went to the beach today found a ring with real tested diamonds 💎! HAPPY FINDINGS 😊
I have a park picked out to detect at this coming Sunday, weather permitting. We’ve got this torrential hurricane rain for the next couple of days, so no outdoor activities for me. 😓
Enjoyed the video Gin. I love finding old buttons. I've been metal detecting a little over a year now, my oldest coin so far is an 1868 seated liberty dime.
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video and appreciate you stopping by my channel. I’m really looking forward to finding some old coins - it’s definitely harder than people realize!
Love the button and also enjoyed the background music selection. Consider posting a picture of the button on the IDME Facebook Group page. Happy hunting!
Hi, I enjoy watching your adventures and nice finds! I think the button might be one of those 1800's hunting buttons that they use to wear on their hunting coats, a lot of times they are animals. My dad got me started metal detecting when I was 4 in 1969 and I still get just as excited now as I did then!
I love hearing that you’ve enjoyed the hobby for so long and that the thrill of the hunt doesn’t fade. That’s just awesome. 👍 I’ll have to do some research on hunting buttons - I’ve never seen or heard of that before. Thanks so much for the info and for visiting my channel. 🤗
Great finds!! Although I've never tried metal detecting, following ur adventures is fun! I think it's the anticipation of 'what is it??' Stay safe out there!
Thanks Johnny, I’m so glad you enjoy it. I know just what you mean…I love adventure. I always want to see what’s around the next bend, what treasure can be found, what jackpots I can hit. I also love checking out other people’s videos for the same reason. ❤️
Great job digging in tough conditions Gin. Old homesites here in Ky are the same, lots of iron, nails and horse tack. Folks out in the woods had little or no money so tools was their treasure 😆
Thanks Tony! It was a tough dig but such a neat site. I didn’t expect to find much treasure since folks definitely didn’t have much back then. In this case, I think the land was the treasure. It’s been in the same family for a long time. Thanks for stopping by my channel. Happy hunting up there in Kentucky! 🍀
Great finds Gin!!! That button was a nice find. Hopefully the house site will give you more treasures. Those head stamps have more historical value than most people give them credit for. Donnie Laws Is the king of head stamps.👍👍👍
Thanks so much Bobby. I love watching Donnie’s videos; those holders he makes to hold his head stamp collection are the coolest things. He seems like such a neat guy.
Another great video. Old house sites can be really testing, there’s always lots of trash but there is always treasure. The button looks a bit special. Keep up the good work you’re doing.
I love finding shotgun shells or any type of cartridge for that matter. I find them very helpful for dating an area. There are some good resources online to look up their history. Old buttons are fascinating as well, sad how they no longer the same character today. Thanks for posting!
Thanks for checking out the video Chris. I’ve definitely still got a lot to learn about relic hunting and dating/identifying things. I’m planning to pick up some books to learn more about it as I go. My favorite thing about relic hunting is the chance to find something from yesteryear when craftsmanship and beauty were still important. 🙂
So , cool . Fun , exciting. I live to be outdoors and do outside stuff. I wonder how much the equipment cost . What's the coolest thing you found . Beautiful woman with a beautiful smile. I like the torn levis ❤
Hi Jerry, the equipment can run from $150 to $6k; depends on just how fancy you want to go. It’s a fun way to be outdoors. 🙂. Old torn Levi’s are my guilty pleasure….I could live in them. Lol. Thanks for dropping by my channel. 🤗
Lots of fun digging tree roots, not!!! Now you know that site has not been heavily searched. Good job, keep us posted about the button, that is an interesting find. If you try for the hearth stone, pry it up, no sense trying to become familiar with a rattler or copperhead. I do enjoy watching your videos. Thank you for posting😀👍.
Thanks so much Jim. Those tree roots were no joke - they hadn’t been disturbed in a long time and put up a fight. I don’t think I could ever get to the hearthstone, but if I did, you can bet it would be in winter. Of course, if I do come across a copperhead or rattlesnake while filming, you will get to see a video of the amazing levitating Lucky Gin. 🤣😂🤣
One of the best places to metal detect on an old homestead, abandoned farm house, etc, is to look around the old privy (the outhouse) that is no longer in use. In my past experience metal detecting, I have found interesting treasures in and around the structure with a quarter moon often cut into the upper part of the door. Of course, you want to wear good gloves while working in the area.
@@LuckyGin Many folks from the days of old use to hide their valuables in the privy since it was the thinking that location would be the last anyone would look if some one broke into their home. There are some videos on RUclips above about metal detecting around outhouses and old buildings. Ya may want to take a look at some to learn about a new twist in the activity. I used the search term “metal detecting around outhouses”. Some people will even go inside the old abandoned buildings that are on their last legs and search for hidden treasures in the walls with their metal detectors. Even in areas around the base of old trees might be a place to look. Old barns are soften times a treasure trove of great finds. Just don’t look around the wide open spaces like fields, beaches, etc. Old defunct buildings or near them are many times loaded with metal & other treasures.
Hi. New to your channel and this video interest us. We’re getting into detecting and actually have acquired permission on an old home site that we plan to dig this fall. Take care.
I just ran across your channel. I like watching these kinds of metal detector videos. I think its really cool also that you are from mid Tn area. Im from Lebanon / Wilson. I just got me another metal detector a couple months ago but havent used it that much yet. Its a Garrett ace 400. I had the Garrett ace 250 about 10 or more years ago and really enjoyed it but never dug anything that good. Always had that hope of one day though. I havent really met that many people around here thats into the hobby. I subed to your channel and will be looking forward to watching more videos :)
Hi Chris! Nice to meet you and welcome! Thanks so much for the sub. There definitely don’t seem to be many people into detecting here in TN. Maybe it’s because it’s so hard to find anywhere to detect; not sure. I’ve basically had to teach myself from watching videos and experimenting. I’m having loads of fun at it though. 😊. I hope you are able to get out detecting soon find find some treasure. 🙌🍀
Hi Bill, that’s a really great suggestion. I’m still experimenting a bit right now and waiting for a few more pieces of equipment to arrive. Maybe once I get settled on favorites I’ll do that video. 🙂
I recently found your channel and really enjoy it I bought a makro gold kruzer and haven't used it a lot yet but definitely like it I'd definitely love any tips or tricks on some on the different modes and the video's are great thanks for sharing

i hunt old homesites in upstate new york and I use the smaller root slayer it s called nomad it works really well on tough ground and it s lighter good luck
The Archery coin could be a trophy. I thought I saw a small hole near the top that a jewelry ring could have been attached to. Of course just like the military, it could just be a trophy coin.
Hi Kevin, thanks for stopping by my channel. I thought about that - maybe being some kind of award or something….maybe something for archery marksmanship?
Good Evening, Your button is from a vintage pair of overalls. It's from the Bowman Company. This might help. "Pictorial Overall Buttons, 1900-1935" written by the Yeargain's. Your button I believe is on Plate #1 and is Image #13. Good luck from Murfreesboro TN
Thank you so much Philip- that is incredibly helpful and gives me a good date range. I appreciate you stopping by my channel and sharing your knowledge. ❤️
that's the biggest shovel I have ever seen I will volunteer my digging services for you just let me know when and where and I will be there to help you out!!! Not saying you can't do it you're self as you do a much better job then most men lol. Love the video and anytime your in Bristol, TN give me a shout I would love to tag along and dig the junk you left behind.
Haha, thanks for the offer. I had another video where a couple of guys were giving me a hard time about digging a big hole to get to a deep target. I’m beginning to suspect they were jealous of my muscle and tenacity. 😂😂😂. I’ve never been detecting over to the east, but maybe someday. 🙂
It looks as though your on a hot spot. It’s pretty obvious it hasn’t been hunted much if at all. Where there’s iron, there’s usually treasure to be found. I really like that button. If the back is still on it, there’s usually writing from the mfg. and will give you some info online. I hope there’s a part 2 for this area. BTW... your videos are coming along nicely. Keep up the good work.
Hi Alan, you are 100% right about the area having never been detected. I had more targets than I could dig in one session. I’ll definitely revisit that area because there are some other old home sites close by too. Thanks for visiting and for the encouragement. ❤️
No joke - it was tough! I think I sweated 10 gallons and I know for sure 5 ticks came home with me. 😖. But it was such a cool site - it had to be done! 💪💪💪 Thanks so much for stopping by with your awesome positive vibes - you rock! 🤩✌️🤗❤️
one thing you learn about the south and home sites in the woods is most people were dirt poor if they lived in a cabin and if they had a penny they didn't loose them.
It’s tough here. I travel and detect all over, but Tennessee is home. It’s one of the more restrictive states unfortunately. Almost all the waterways and lakes are controlled by TVA or Corps of Engineers.😖
It was definitely challenging, especially in the heat. Folks in that area didn’t have much back then, so I didn’t expect much treasure. Was hoping for some cool relics of the bygone era. Thanks so much for visiting my channel. ❤️
Hi lucky gin i am from Brasil living un chile south América i usted to live in Charleston SC there are múltiple old mansión you shoud find some treasure there AND olso have a plantation with very old AND giant thres....good luck
Yes me too i will one day i love your Chanel helps a Lot people like me new on this hooby and in love with detecting i go every day att beach 6:00 am before goin to work
Just wondering as you are from Tennessee does that mean you get free Jack Daniels. If you do can you send me some to England. I'll pay for postage 🤣🤣. Love the videos keep it up. I just got into beach metal detecting few years ago and i loved it. Found on my first day out a 1oz 18k gold necklace. And a million can ring pulls. Joys of having fun 🤣🤣
😂😂😂 Jon, I’m from Tennessee and that means we make our own and put it in a good ‘ole mason jar. 😉 If I ever make it to England to detect, I’ll bring you a jar of proper Tennessee hooch. 🙌. Thanks for dropping by my channel. ❤️
Just recently joined/subbed. I love your videos, but sometimes the music is too loud (really enjoyed this song) and we miss what you are saying and what you are finding. Thanks and have a great day! 😎
Very cool button not really into relics more of a coin shooter. Here in Colorado don't find much silver coin but yesterday I did 2 in one day. Think I figured it out. So if you ever come to Colorado I could use a pretty face to get some permissions. Lol
Hi Gin, that was a great video. I have a question. How dobyou find these old homesites or did you just know that one existed. It is not like there is an old home standing for you to know it is there?
Hi Kurt, I was lucky on this site because the land belongs to a good friend and has been in the family for over 200 years. There’s also some other sites on this farm that I may explore later. You know, I came across another video on RUclips recently and the guy mentioned that the library of Congress has old maps on file and is a good place for research. I haven’t had a chance to check it out yet, but it sounds like an awesome resource.
Hi Lucky Gin, I'm a new subscriber, I really enjoy your channel, but with one compliant, the music is nice, but not when the music is being played over your voice, I can't hear what you are saying when you are metal detecting. It's always better to hear, that way, we as beginners can fall back on those valuable tips that you share with us. Also, you have a nice voice. But you did find some cool pieces of history, and I dig history the most! and the thrill of the hunt, well, you can't be it! A huge thank you Lucky Gin, I'll catch you on the rebound and Happy hunting, G t E.
Oh boy, I can tell already you’re gonna be popular if you stick with this. Prettiest lady in metal detecting for sure.

Your button is from a vintage pair of overalls.
Brava Amica,ottimo lavoro 👍👍👍 saluti, Fausto 🇮🇹🇬🇷
Grazie amico mio. Sono così felice che tu possa fermarti per il mio nuovo video. Auguri!
@@LuckyGin Grazie a te per il video 😉
that's the biggest shovel I have ever seen I will volunteer my digging services for you just let me know when and where and I will be there to help you out!!!
I forgot to add...please keep us all posted on the info you find on that button. I’ve never seen one like it.
That looked like a tough day!………… tough in wooded areas……… but hey you persevered!!!!!👀😏🙂👋👍🇨🇦🍻

No joke - it was tough! I think I sweated 10 gallons and I know for sure 5 ticks came home with me. 😖. But it was such a cool site - it had to be done! 💪💪💪
Thanks so much for stopping by with your awesome positive vibes - you rock! 🤩✌️🤗❤️
You very welcome!…..🙂👋❤️
one thing you learn about the south and home sites in the woods is most people were dirt poor if they lived in a cabin and if they had a penny they didn't loose them.
That sure seems to be true of the folks living in the mountainous areas of Tennessee.👍
Perfect
When you coming to LA Beaches

🤗
I actually like finding those old shotgun shells. If you can read the brand name they can be dated.
You are right about that! I gained a new appreciation for them after watching a few of Donnie Laws videos.
I’m searching for metal detecting videos about Tennessee. Leaving Colorado and moving to Knoxville. Pretty excited to get further East!
It’s tough here. I travel and detect all over, but Tennessee is home. It’s one of the more restrictive states unfortunately. Almost all the waterways and lakes are controlled by TVA or Corps of Engineers.😖
@@LuckyGin
Ahh, yea that is tough. Definitely have to get my research done before going out. Thanks for the heads up.
Parabéns 👏👏🙏🤠 muito legal ❤️
Muito obrigado. Estou feliz que você parou no meu vídeo. :)
❤❤❤
Hi Gin. That looks like a relic hunters paradise In them there woods. Good job digging them relics.
Thanks so much Mike. That area had never been detected so I definitely had no shortage of targets. Thanks for stopping by. 🤗
Oldhouse site is very hard to search, lot off trash. But good days might find good stuff too🙂
It was definitely challenging, especially in the heat. Folks in that area didn’t have much back then, so I didn’t expect much treasure. Was hoping for some cool relics of the bygone era. Thanks so much for visiting my channel. ❤️
👌
Y’all might wanna try different sized loops and for easy tips watch other diggers channels like the Aquachigger. He’s informative. Never give up
David, I’m not sure what you mean by loop?
@@LuckyGin loop is the coil on the bottom of your detector

A little background music is fine but I like to hear what you are saying.
The larger piece of metal is a hatchet Head

Just recently joined/subbed. I love your videos, but sometimes the music is too loud (really enjoyed this song) and we miss what you are saying and what you are finding. Thanks and have a great day! 😎
Very cool button not really into relics more of a coin shooter. Here in Colorado don't find much silver coin but yesterday I did 2 in one day. Think I figured it out. So if you ever come to Colorado I could use a pretty face to get some permissions. Lol
Haha, I might not be much help. I can actually be quite shy, especially about asking for things.
@@LuckyGin Thanks for the reply. Yeah that is my problem kinda shy but once I get going it's hard to stop me. 😉
You’ll find the music situation much improved on my newer videos. 🙂 Thanks for popping by my channel.🍀
At 6min it’s an oxen shoe
Looks like you dug some interesting old finds. Did you ever run into any snakes?
Thankfully no snakes on this hunt, but I’m always careful because the southern woods have plenty of them.
If somebody didn’t say it already; the possible pulley looks like an old hammer with one side missing.
I think you are the first to suggest that. 🙂
@@LuckyGin I found half of one myself recently. The center sides are strangely circular.
👍👍❤️
