When I stopped eating sugar and flour it not only helped my arthritis symptoms it eliminated my insomnia. I had been told that as a post menopausal woman that a full night's sleep was a thing of the past. I subsisted on 3 hours a night for months and considered getting 5 hours a miracle. Now i have to set an alarm so i don't sleep for 10 hours.

Fructose in general is thought to trigger inflamation. As of now I am doing unsweetened coffee and cutting Honey and all other sugars and it seems to be helping with my arthritis inflamation, I hope yhis is good info for everyone!

I've seen lists that had my head spinning of both good and problematic foods, when to eat them, when not to eat them, with what else to eat them, etc.... Hi Alyssa appreciate your videos. I've always eaten the foods you mentioned and I have always been an active person. I was a firefighter for 30 years and I retired over a year ago. I had to replace my R knee after two arthroscopic surgeries and have had a pervious arthroscopic surgery on my L knee. I ride a stationery bike everyday as it helps my joints and my mind and I also play pickleball by the end of the day I must elevate my knee and ice it. I just had an MRI on my L knee awaiting for a L knee replacement due to my pain. But approximately a month ago I stopped eating meats due to the cruelty of factory farming and my L knee pain has subsided so much it's unbelievable . My Surgeon said I have grade 3 and 4 arthritis with other damage but recommended to hold off on the TKR due to the improvement of my symptoms . The meat I was eating came from animals that are feed unnaturally and live a very stressful life, which I believe contributed to my inflammation. Would appreciate your thoughts on how factory farm meats effect your gut and inflammation .

I’m a Whole Foods vegan, 20 years. I don’t eat sugar and I’ve never drank soda or bottle juice. I have stage 2/4 osteoarthritis in both of my knees. Can you talk about the role of fiber and proper digestion and osteoarthritis? I know I don’t drink enough water most days. I do drink green tea and lemon water with aloe juice in the morning. My digestion has always been super slow. I’ve noticed that the less I eliminate the more, my OA flares up! I also noticed the mucus production in my sinuses goes over the top and I believe has contributed to 15 years of chronic sinusitis. I’ll be 70 years old next year. I’m fit healthy and active but digestion has always been my sticking point. I’m wondering if other people experience this same issue. Thanks so much for all your information.❤

Hi Dr A - this is a longish video but very good that you boiled down the ending to the essentials. It simplified the whole concept making it easy to remember. So, we got a lesson with the cliff notes following.
When I looked at your website, I saw the very pleasant looking ruggedly handsome guy and the white poodle both sporting white hair. I think I have more than the guy but less than the dog!!
Have a great new years with them both!! Stai bene e al sicuro! (= say well and safe)
    Arrivederci!

Im actually happy that someone (occupation/physical therapists) made a diet video...
It's basic but gets to the point.... especially great for newcomers looking for diet question.
Oh plus remember the food must be fresh....and not processed what do ever....and nothing wrong if you freeze your food....plus supplement may also have corn syrup/crap in them so read ingredients.
Avoid soft drinks....it's sugar water, especially DIET drinks.

You may wish to try spinach, rocket, celery, avocado, 2 cloves of garlic, 1/3 cucumber and water and liquidise it. This normally provides 3 glass full per day. Ive been doing this for about a month and the improvement in my cindirion is extraordinary.

Hi, thanx à lot for all the great information. Please, could you recommend a substitute or equivalent for blueberries. Here in Algeria we don't have blueberries. Strawberries are out of season now, anyway they're grown in green houses. I don't like the idea that lots of water is used to grow them.

FWIW, I add dried, unsweetened cranberries to oatmeal, curries, Asian stir-fry, and even pasta sauce sometimes. I like blueberries, too, but tend to have them mainly in wholewheat pancakes, with a bit of maple syrup, too, I'm afraid.
