After reading lots of comments it shows we can’t all eat the same food groups. I’m on an elimination diet to try and find my triggers and I’ve certainly found them. Functional medicine is transforming my life !
Are you in a program or are you just trying it, eliminations, on your own? I had a health coach who was directing me on an elimination diet but it just got too expensive for me.

I char a Hatch green chile. Then I peel the chile, and rinse. I put a slit and remove seeds. Then I add shredded cheese inside. I scramble 2 eggs with a little salt. Pour into my frying pan that has olive oil or a pat of butter. When it begins to set I place my chile in the center of my eggs. I then fold one side toward the chile then the other side. It will look like a burrito. It taste like a chile relleno but not as fattening. 😋
Thank you for sharing this recipe. I noticed that your pan has anti-stick coting, which most likely is toxic. I recently detoxified my kitchen, and perhaps paying more attention to these things.
I just came across your channel. This looks very delicious. My test results had came back with rheumatoid arthritis psoriatic arthritis osteoarthritis and osteopenia and fibromyalgia. I'm going to try this recipe and hopefully plenty more come from your channel.
I just cover the pan with a lid or plate & let them "steam" until the tops of the eggs are free from the clear (slimy) whites. Then I slide the whole thing onto a dish & eat! Baby Bok Choy is my personal favorite when I don't have fresh broccoli on hand. I also use spring onions sometimes.😉
I literally came on here to make that same recommendation. Trying to flip the eggs once incorporated is akward and you risk damaging the yolk. Simply add a splash of water, cover and the eggs will cook perfectly. No need for akward flipping.
I will try this awesome recipe. I advise also dairy products blended with raisins. For example yogurt -raisins blend. Oat flakes boiled and poured over raisins also make good deal!
This looks lovely, thank you. Veggies are always so tasty.. We have been eating a Turkish breakfast if we don't want hot... Sliced tomatoes, peeled sliced cucumber, two boiled eggs, a handful of olives & a sprinkle of good quality olive oil. Follow up with a portion of plain live yoghurt with a teaspoon of proper honey. If you feel you need a little carbs some gluten free flour mixed with your Yog & dry fried in a heavy pan as flat bread.
Hi just watching the video on breakfast for arthritis, i slightly confused as I’ve read that arthritis sufferers shouldn’t eat peppers and tomatoes due to them containing lectins . Lectins create inflammation which causes the pain .
The cholesterol in animal products occludes the arteries with cholesterol plaque deposits that lead to atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disease, heart attacks, stroke, dementia and diabetes. Most of the oldest healthiest people in the world live in the blue zones and live meat-free, plant-based.
I don't so much care about the corn feed, but rather the overall welfare of the poor chickens. That's why I buy eggs from very low stocking density farms where the hens are free to roam.
That is more like a frittata if you scramble them. One thing you don’t mention is nightshades. I would avoid red pepper for that reason. Avoiding nightshades has made a big impact on my joint mobility (and inflammation obviously). What is your thought about nightshades?
Interesting! Usually bell peppers are recommended as anti-inflammatory but everyone responds differently so it’s good that you found out that it’s one of your triggers. There hasn’t been much evidence saying that they aggravate inflammation. But again, each person is different!
@@arthritisadventure But you have heard about nightshades and the possible effect on arthritis? I think it is kind of like glucosamine... doesn’t effect everyone. That said, I have a friend with RA and she said bell peppers are a trigger as well.
Yes I have! Nightshades do have the possibility to aggravate inflammation in some. Same with gluten and dairy. They can affect some more than others. But usually the idea is to cut out processed foods first before cutting out natural foods when starting out. But when you've been following an anti-inflammatory diet for a while, then you can hone in on these specifics to maximize results!
@@arthritisadventure Absolutely. I was doing an elimination diet and tried eliminating nightshades (mostly bell peppers - which I ate a lot) for a few weeks and my knee gained a lot of mobility that had been gone a while. 🙂
I thought bell peppers were not good for arthritis, since they're in the nightshade family, which causes inflammation. What is your thinking on this? Thanks.
Looks so pretty. And yummy. I would choose a pan that is not covered in a non stick coating (since lots of negative issues reported with that) but that is just a personal opinion. Great breakfast suggestion. I will try it out since veggies are always hard to get plenty of for me. Thank you.
I just wanna make a comment on spinach. Because the video also recommend it to mix with egg, too. Spinach is the highest oxalate-rich vegetable and oxalate is a well known trigger for inflammation. So, if you have arthritis, it is better to stay away from spinach...
That looks yummy and I love the color. I have been gradually increasing my intake of vegetables and fruit. For breakfast, I like soft scrambled eggs with cooked spinach on the side. Another go-to breakfast, especially refreshing in the summer, is a plate of cottage cheese, pieces of assorted melons, and sliced avacado. Love your videos! This one reminded me to add EVOO to my shopping list. I'm 73 with a bad back, even after a spinal fusion, so I need exercises that don't put undo strain on my back. Yours appear just what I need - just tried the balance ones and am going to keep doing those and need those that strengthen my hip muscles. Thank you!!!
Thank you, Dr. Alyssa for your wonderful work. This information is tremendously helpful and easy to apply. And primarily, it's very effective. Thanks again. 🎉
Peppers have lectins in them that’s a inflammatory, most olive oil sold in the US has bad oil mixed in it because organic olive may be better. And your using a no stick pan and a plastic spatula. When those things are heated harmful chemicals come out of them and enter the food . A cast iron pan and a steel spatula would be better and you would get iron from the pan when cooking in it . Iron is good for you. Health coach Ron age of 63 .

I have done several different diets to try to help inflammation and what I have found is eating Carnivore is the way to go. Beef, Butter, Bacon & Eggs works the best. You can eat any meat really - it doesn't have to be beef but the more the fat the better. Ribeye & Eggs is great and eat only - One Meal A Day is a great help as well.
I've been having this for breakfast for several years ... I beat the eggs with a little milk and add a couple of teaspoons of turmeric. Then pour it in the pan and it makes an omelette. You can sprinkle a little cheese on top if you like. Then when it's set, brown it under the grill. Yummee!!!
Dairy products promote inflammatory processes in the body. Animal protein contains cholesterol, which clogs the arteries with cholesterol plaque deposits, which lead to atherosclerosis, heart attacks, stroke, dementia and diabetes. Animal products are metabolized acidically = pro-inflammatory, therapeutic proteins are metabolized alkaline and have an anti-inflammatory effect, for example soy beans and tofu are an excellent source of protein.
Can you please post more warm breakfast ideas for anti inflammatory diet please. I love my toast in the morning and an alternative bread will be great 👍🏻
The most important thing to keep in mind when you don’t want your body to swell is,, quitting Salt ! Salt 🧂 makes my OA swelling worse! My legs swell up and fill up with water,, then my groin hurts and stings when I pee! 🥹🥹
Alyssa, love the 2.5 eggs to get more protein. 😊When you scrap your veggies into pan, turn your knife over to “nonsharpened or dull” side and swipe veggies in pan. You won’t dull blade and help to keep it sharper. 😉
Eggs also contain arachidonic acid, which promotes inflammatory processes. The cholesterol occludes the arteries with cholesterol plaque deposits that lead to atherosclerosis, heart attacks, stroke, dementia and diabetes

I saute the vegetables, especially mushrooms, then I whisk two eggs with a little water and pour it on top of the vegetables, add salt and pepper and then put the lid on and turn the heat way down... helps to have a glass see-through lid so as soon as the egg is fluffed up and firm, I slide this 'omlette' onto a plate and eat... agree it's a great combination for variety, and keeps my imnflamation down.

I'm just starting out researching and making list on what to eat and stretching exercising. I tuned in your videos quite helpful thank you. Because I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis now my life change with my health. Where do I find your recipes?
Onions contain oligosaccharides that can be inflammatory to many people. Peppers are a nightshade and really triggers arthritis. Egg whites also often trigger symptoms in sensitive people. And so does oil, especially heated. It's better to sautee with water only or steam the veggies. For some, lentils or beans might work better, you just have to test for yourself.
inflammatory responses are very person-dependent. Onions, peppers and egg whites can be great sources of nutrients and can have anti inflammatory properties. Sure, some people may be an exception but largely natural foods are imperative into a diet to help control inflammation. Correct, it's important to test for yourself. I'd love to read research articles on the statements you made if you want to send them over.
@@arthritisadventure No, they are not person-dependent. That is a misconception. The main culprit for arthritis is grains, but most people are unwilling to stop eating bread, pasta, cookies and oatmeal. Especially the latter is considered to be healthy - and I was a firm believer in oats. I tried quitting grains several times - but always way too short to experience any effects. But there was a study that made clear, how lectins in grains damage the lining of the colon and substances meander through the body, altering the tissue of the joints and ligaments, which then is seen as foreign by the immune system and therefore being attacked. It sounded plausible. Pain drove me to extend absence from grains. It has to be at least ten months to a year because the colon needs to heal. I have been pain free now for seven yeras and without any medication, after twenty years of crippling inflammation. Night shade plants DO worsen arthritis. Epecially eggs DO worsen arthritis due to their high volume of arachidonic acid. You can counter that a little by omega threes. Not even mentioning arachidonic acid shows little expertise. However, eggs or nightshades are not the cause. It is a combination of a genetic disposition (how well the cells of your colon stick together) and the exposure to lectins, which compromise the density of your colon lining. Lectins are also present in legumes. If you pressure-cook lentils for example, the lectins will dissolve. But they will never dissolve in grains. People think "I am not allergic to gluten - so I won't have problems with grains". Well, think again if you have arthritis - because lectins are the cause. And we have more arthritis cases than ever before because lectins are actually natural substances to protect a plant - but by breeding, the amount in them was massively increased to make crops more resilient. You MUST know all this if you call yourself an expert. Google VIOXX scandal. I almost died from that. Ever since then I swore to educate myself before believing doctors. So all talk about nutrients in bell peppers, eggs and oats is true - for people WITHOUT arthritis, that means no side effects. But if you do have arthritis, you might want to find alternatives.
@@andyrevo8081 You are a great explainer. I have had my major switch up to grain free foods this past year thanks to precrohns. I always knew I was not a celiac but also knew wheat slowed me down. @@HA-kw7vq No grains except sorghum or millet. It is about lectins. Gluten is a lectin-like protein that has very similar effects. Great if gluten is missing in your oats, but they contain a lot of other lectins as well. If you want to know more about that subject, google Dr. Steven Gundry (author of "The plant paradox"). I am not promoting his book - his finding confirmed my own but he did the research, I had just followed a gut feeling, no pun intended, and I did not know about lectins then.

I’m wondering about the plastic cutting board and the nonstick pan which I’ve recently learned are both sources of toxic elements to our gut. Do you agree?

I read opposite that nightshade vegetable increase arthritis pain . So many research make me confused what to eat 😔
Red pepper least problematic.
@@karenbutcher5921 on a programme , I’ve had two consultations. It’s not going to be ongoing as now know my triggers and I’ll avoid them. Had full bloods which highlighted a few problems.
Dr Kuhn, one of best PT’s on internet. Love your presentation very much!
Happy to hear that!
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for sharing this recipe. I noticed that your pan has anti-stick coting, which most likely is toxic. I recently detoxified my kitchen, and perhaps paying more attention to these things.
You can sprinkle some turmeric into the oil to increase the anti-inflammatory effects.
Love this tip! Thanks 😊
Just started an anti-inflammation eating plan. made this with different veggies and it was delicious!!! I scrambled my eggs. Thanks.
Glad to hear you liked it!
All of these comments….this breakfast is fantastic for most who are not so neurotic
I'm glad you liked the breakfast and hope you enjoy the channel!
Yes!
Great breakfast idea thanks! - but consider getting rid of Teflon coated pans and Teflon/plastic utensils for stainless steel pan and utensils!

Cast iron for me
I use onions peppers and sometimes Spinach in corn tortilla with cheese and picante sauce
I just came across your channel. This looks very delicious. My test results had came back with rheumatoid arthritis psoriatic arthritis osteoarthritis and osteopenia and fibromyalgia. I'm going to try this recipe and hopefully plenty more come from your channel.
Glad you found the channel and hope you like the rest of the videos!
Love your spirit, thanks for helping people who need healing!!❤
So glad you love the positive vibes!
Yes, I do the same.. softens the veg and cooks the eggs beautifully
I do the same!
I literally had that last night after I came in from the pub...Added cauliflower rice...Great nutrition and exercise is so important for OA.
Yep!
Interesting! Thanks for comment.
Thank you very much Dr Kuhn. I had this for breakfast this morning and it was delicious!
Wonderful! We think it's delicious too.
Thank you for this great recipe 👍 I tried it this morning and it was delicious.
Hi just watching the video on breakfast for arthritis, i slightly confused as I’ve read that arthritis sufferers shouldn’t eat peppers and tomatoes due to them containing lectins . Lectins create inflammation which causes the pain .
Yes, no peppers at all but I eat just some tomatoes in moderation
Why are you using red peppers when you tell us they cause inflammation, I’m confused!!
I like to sprinkle a mix of turmeric and black pepper on this dish when it’s done.

Make sure eggs are pasture raised so the chickens are not fed corn. Corn is an inflammatory food
Free range chickens ❤
Dr Gundry says you can peel and de-seed ripe peppers and reduce the nightshade factor 👍
Thank you.
thanks so much. I have MS, so very interested in anti inflam ideas.
Glad you love the videos and thanks for sharing!
I do veggies and eggs seasoned with turmeric, garlic, and pepper. I add medium to hot salsa to my scramble for more flavor.
Yum!!

I noticed the same things, surprised coming from a Dr?

you're so welcome.
Thank you, Dr. Kuhn. I have had inflammation in the past. Doing good now. ❤
Great to hear!
We cook with avocado oil and keep the EVOO for salads.
same!
Everyone should try the AIP diet protocol to find out what foods they are sensitive to.
I ate this morning, add ed Toft for extra protein and made my egg in a different pan and placed on top of veg. Much easier. 👍🏼
@@chantallxvx4102 If you choose to reach these conclusions that's fine. I do not.
Can you please post more warm breakfast ideas for anti inflammatory diet please. I love my toast in the morning and an alternative bread will be great 👍🏻

Can you show some breakfast ideas with good amounts of protein with out eggs (high sensitivity to egg whites). Thanks!

@@teresaspensley5640 Ezekial flourless bread. Low glycemic, no gluten. Tasty. I only like it toasted.
Alyssa, love the 2.5 eggs to get more protein. 😊When you scrap your veggies into pan, turn your knife over to “nonsharpened or dull” side and swipe veggies in pan. You won’t dull blade and help to keep it sharper. 😉
exept for that you would need to take the yolk not the egg white. All the nutrients are in the yolk.......
Eggs also contain arachidonic acid, which promotes inflammatory processes. The cholesterol occludes the arteries with cholesterol plaque deposits that lead to atherosclerosis, heart attacks, stroke, dementia and diabetes
What I liked in particular about this recipe is that it had easy to find ingredients and would be suitable for someone with diabetes.
Yes, absolutely! Glad this could help :)

@@mudhens4everI don’t know whether someone answered but you can have a low carb slice of toast or Mission has a carb balance tortilla to fill with the yummy veggies. If you want rice or potato cook up the night before and refrigerate. That process helps in how those carbs affect glycemic levels.

Red peppers are part of the nightshade family which causes inflammation and pain. I stopped eating them because of that.

I'm not sure how this breakfast (with 18gr protein) will take one very far because the lack of protein...
For me , (woman 58 yrs) 30 -40 gr protein is what gets me to the next meal without snacking. I'm trying to also address insulin resistance. I eat a couple of times a day and tried to avoid snacking. And, yay fir yhe beautiful veggies! I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on this. Thank you, again!

Wow, thank you! I appreciate the support of the channel.
I saute the vegetables, especially mushrooms, then I whisk two eggs with a little water and pour it on top of the
vegetables, add salt and pepper and then put the lid on and turn the heat way down... helps to have a glass

I improved so so much however my problem is figuring out if my issues are from leaky gut or just arthritis from other issues like as a baby I had scarlett fever, also had a few viruses and injuries on the upper back etc. I would like to think working on the leaky gut will bring me back the energy as living with post whip lash and old preserved joint injuries are never really going to disappear! Anyways, I love eating these cassava cauliflower wraps instead of sandwiches. It has really worked. I also feel like I am the kind of person that does not do well with onions. I literally am growing spring onions but prob will eat in small quantities! Any thoughts I would read up on more.
@@andyrevo8081 is gluten free oats okay ? As I have these all the time. With regards to beans and pulses I soak them overnight or boil them. I have cut out processed foods and sugar.

That breakfast is what I eat almost every morning. I will use bacon sometimes or just butter. I will try making it with avacado oil. So far it has not done a whole lot to help with my inflamation from RA. But I have recently noticed that carbs and/or a milkshake made me flare up something awful. I am staying away from them now. I knew about sugar of course and obviously was not thinking when I drank the milkshake lol. BTW I also use kale in that breakfast!

please tell me why most doctors say to avoid the nightshade vegetables, such as peppers, eggplants, tomatoes, yet you say green and red peppers are okay. Love those vegetables, so tell me if it's okay.
Some people may be more sensitive to them- that would be my guess. I’m under the thinking that before you start cutting out fruits and vegetables, there are likely other foods that can be reduced first.
I love this breakfast ( and make it for myself often) But I’m super careful about salt, ( my BO is fine) but because it seems to make my arthritis worse ( due to it making the body hold water)
