Sorry if this posts twice. This is awesome! I have rheumatoid arthritis and noticing I'm getting weaker, knees, hips, feet, all weaker. I jumped out of bed to give it a try. It was incredibly difficult and I had to lightly place my foot staggered for the first few reps but then after 5 or so, i could do it one legged! Yay! This is going to help balance, hip flexors, as well as all over strength. I did 2 sets of 10 then subscribed! Thank you!

Hi Alyssa, have you heard about castor oil compresses? I’ve used these a few times on my knee and have found it very effective. I often just rub in the oil directly all around the knee joint, especially at night before sleeping, enabling the oil to work its magic over night. It’s incredible stuff!

Hi, Alyssa! I’ve been using a vibrator on my lower back when my arthritis pain increases. I’m wondering what thoughts you have about this. Probably not good for knee arthritis,or hand, but in the back, where the bones are not close to the surface, it works well to stimulate blood flow.

Massage guns can be helpful to some for painful muscles but likely not painful joints themselves. Effectiveness depends on your pain levels, sensitivity, if swelling is present, and the intensity of the massage gun itself usually.

Great tips. Thank you so much. Believe it or not, i've found shea butter to be very soothing for my osteoarthritic R knee. I'm 67 and i like rubbing a lump of it between my palms until it melts and then i massage my knee. Then, i pull on my knee compression sleeve and go for a walk. It's especially perfect to use in the cold weather as it insulates against the cold. I'm not suggesting it's as a RX strength analgesic or anything, i've just found that my knee hurts less after using it.

Hi, Alyssa! I have arthritis in my lumbar area (right side). Occasionally, I inadvertently pull my upper thigh muscle on my left side. A chiropractor told me that my pelvis is twisted, but she didn’t give me any exercises to do at home. Can you suggest any?

Your pelvis can’t quite get twisted as the bones are very stable. But you could have some asymmetries or muscle imbalances that allow you to move in a certain way to compensate. It’s important to address asymmetries if they exist (I.e one side weaker than the other, off balance, etc). I would start with a workout like this and see if you notice any side to side differences: ruclips.net/video/t-hEIomHaAU/видео.html
If you need further assistance I do offer one on one consults for a movement assessment to help you find these asymmetries: calendly.com/adventurealive/movement-assessment?back=1&month=2022-01
