    Wow, this video -- with its music and video shots -- is so 2018.

    Goot advice, well presented! At the start I was thinking it looked like any one of the canals which drain into the Great South Bay off Long Island. Then I see you're in NJ so I wasn't far off.

      Nice...I really enjoy the 'red' mavic air! No birds attacking it yet and I like to think it's because of the color.

    Just a polite note, ND filters can also be used to reduce the depth of field of an image. Also the 180 degree rule you speak of is not a rule, it's just preferred shutter angle. If you can't quite get exactly 180 degrees, get it as near as possible without over or under exposing. Exposure is more important than blur, which can be added in post anyway. Nice video though :)

      u sure? how does an ND filter affect the depth of field?

      Ehm yes but the mavic air has a fixed aperture of f2.8, the aperture won't change with an ND on it

    I thought Nd filters are used for photos more than videos. But as u explained its more for videos motion blur. So if I mainly shoot photos I need polarized and not Nd filters :/

      Yeah, they work great. Never broke out the ND4 filter (it was to sunny that day). But I certainly see myself getting a lot of use out of the ND8 and ND16 filter.

    Hi, how do u compare this with the Polarpro ND Vivid Cinema series? Which is better? Dnt know which one to buy. Hope to hear frm u. Thanks

      Hi...I'll be honest with you. These DJI ND Filters were the first I've tested and they look really good. I've seen many reviews on the Polar Pro Cinema Series (which cost a few $ more. I think they're $79.00 right now for the same 3 filters). I think you'll be very happy the the DJI Brand of filters. You really start splitting hairs when you start looking at all the brands out there. I think it really comes down to your settings (ISO, Shutter Speed, D-Cinelike, Color Grading in Post Production, etc.) I'm very happy with these but if I decide to buy another set of ND filters to compare against I'll write another review.
      You can shoot so many different videos and try to compare but it's extremely hard to compare apples-to-apples. The minute you put a new ND filter on the lighting changes slightly. In my opinion these filters get the job done. Looking at the video I shot the other day I think they work very well and give a nice picture. I did some color grading in post-production (since I shot in D-Cinelike). Hope that helps...... :)

    Was the shot at 0:32 stabilised in post? Seeing some weird warping...

    • @RGMGFitness
      @RGMGFitness  6 лет назад +1

      No, I didn't use 'Warp Stabilization' in post. It was actually really windy when I shot that. It's probably something to do with the gimbal movement. As I flew lower in the channel the wind was pushing the Mavic Air around quite a bit. Was a little touch and go getting close to the edges of the wall.

      RGMG That's really weird, really looked like in-post stabilisation. I'll be sure to look out for it when I fly in high wind.

    Firstly. I don’t have the mavic air. But I have question. How do you record the sound of the water? Does it come from external microphone?

    • @RGMGFitness
      @RGMGFitness  6 лет назад

      The water is a 'sound effect' I added in post production of the video. It's not actually audio from the Mavic Air.

    Is $30 a good price for these filters?

    Hi... this info is great thank you. just one question. If I am in flight with an ND32 filter attached with settings of 4K 30fps and a shutter of 1/60 and I wish to change that to 1920/1080p and select frame rate of 120 (slow motion) shutter 1/240 will I need to return to home first and take that ND32 filter off?

    • @RGMGFitness
      @RGMGFitness  6 лет назад +1

      Well, the answer is 'maybe'. Really depends on the subject your shooting. Again, I wouldn't be to concerned about 'Motion Blur' unless you shooting something with a lot of movement. If you flying high in the air than I wouldn't worry about 'Motion Blur'. If your flying low to the ground or something like a waterfall or moving objects than you might need to bring the Mavic Air back and reset everything so you have the lowest ISO (100 ideally) and 2 times the frame rate (or close to that). Everything I filmed in this video had either the ND8 or ND16 filter on it and the picture quality came out really nice. This allowed me to get down to the 100 ISO setting.

    How to set 1/48? I can only use 1/50 in the setup.

    • @RGMGFitness
      @RGMGFitness  6 лет назад

      Yes, 1/50 is fine. You just want to get as close as you can to the 180 Rule. So, if your shooting at 24fps when you dial in the shutter speed 1/50th is just fine. Your good! :)
