Mike, are you using manual exposure or automatic, and if you are using manual, could you instruct us a little about what settings you had because it looks great! Was it 4K or 1080? Thanks for answering!!
In this case for demonstration purposes I used auto and “normal” color profile. Otherwise I try to use manual as much as I can + Nd Filters. my latest video is about this exact topic, check it out! Hopefully that helps :)
I dont mean to be offtopic but does any of you know a way to get back into an instagram account..? I stupidly forgot the account password. I love any tips you can offer me!
@Jabari Jaxton thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Question, in any of the flight modes (lets say circle) could you choose a house instead of yourself? And have the drone circle around said house instead of you? Thanks
Hello, I love your videos. I have a Mavic air but i can’t get that crisp and sharp image shown, What camera settings are you using? Are you color grading the video? If yes, which software are you using? Thanks and I still learning
Hey! Yes, I'm always color grading my videos. This video however was shot in Normal color profile, but i normally use "Cinelike D" and use Final Cut Pro X to color grade afterwards. Watch the other videos on my channel, i've made tutorials about of all of this, you can see it a lot more in-depth :)
Good video, gone try it my self. (nice beach and all your footsteps.. :-) ) Question: Is "Quick shots -> Circle" a bit the same as "point of interrest"? seems they both circle around you. Does this drone searches the opbect to point to with video image recognision? (I have another drone aswell, which used the GPS coordinates of the remote controll 3th: did I miss the track feature with wakepoints? That you can draw a track on the map picture.
Hey Michael! The person can be in motion, yes - as long as the drone detects it and puts a green shape around it - It will continue to follow it during the quickshot!
Got my Mavic Air less than a month ago, taking my time with practicing. Your video was exactly what I needed before starting to play with the Intelligent flight modes, well explained! Thanks mate!
Question: Does the Mavic Air use an ACTIVE HOMEPOINT? - If you have if follow you on a bike for instance... do you have to manually land it where you are? If it decides to "go home" because of an error is it going back to its starting point, or will it come to the controller. I know this works for the PRO... but do you know if it Active Homepoint works with the AIR - THANKS!
Cristiano Malibu Thanks. I figured as much, but on a boat, it updates home every 15 meters so a manual landing is mandatory. Drift could make your MA take a swim.
The Active Track mode can't follow if you go for a swim - the moment you dive, even for a split second, my drone is freezing in air and tracking stops even if you resurface out of water in the same place. Any fix to this?..
Hi It seems impossible to get an correct answer to the following: Do you have to stay in the shot and wave to the drone to let it take an asteroide video? Or can you tap around f eksampel a building and be outside the video myself. I wil use this for estate companies and I do not wish to appear in the video.
Hey Morten, you can use a building as "the object" of your asteroid shot with no problem, you don't have to be in the shot yourself. As long as the drone can "detect" the object you want to film (if it fits in the frame), it should be all good!
came across this while researching drones as it will be my first time. Thanks for the detailed tutorial. how will you compare this with the new Mini 2 SE?
The air is pretty old by todays standards, whereas the Mini 2 SE is newer but it’s the cheapest model dji offers. I'd personally advise you to look into Mini3/Mini3 pro as they're the best bang for buck drones right now
@@DroneSupremacy Thanks for the advice. I went on getting the mini 3 pro, as it will be my first time, I believe an added obstacle avoidance will help. I was first leaning to get a 2nd hand Mavic air then I've learned battery production already stopped and if you can find selling one it's now too expensive.
Thank you so much for the video. I’ve learnt from your other video as well. I want to learn how do I call drone back and take it in hand. I have rented a drone to learn flying but don’t know how to call it back. Pause button didn’t work well.
Bro is the dji mavic air have itself 360 cam built-in when u doing asteroid mode? Or you attach mavic air with insta360 one x? Ur drone litttle planet mode was awesome,Thx 🙏
can the "spotlight" also do the backwards? meaning drone in front of you, and camera facing you as you walk, and so the drone actually flies straight backwards facing you. possible?
Hey Bob. You can access the Intelligent Flight modes screen by tapping on the "remote" icon which you can see on the left side of the screen (it's the third from top to bottom). Good luck :)
3 possible reasons: 1) you may be close to a restricted area when you fly, and sometimes when you are close to one the drone may not allow you too fly too far away. 2) You have a bad connection, and to avoid losing you it stops. 3) In the settings (the ‘...’ in the top right corner), there are limitations that you can adjust, so you can decide how far, fast, and high the drone will go. So try to play with that.

how can we use point of interest which mode ı can find this mode
What I undertand for the tap and fly is the usefulness is that once you tell it to fly somewhere, you can still yaw and tilt to get a nice airborne dolly look which would be quite hard otherwise. But whether you actually want or need that is going to be very personal. I really like cinematic mode because if I am going straight and want to turn it is almost impossible to make that look smooth without some digital smoothing after the fact which I don't have the software for. Once I am turning you can keep it smooth with fine yaw inputs but going from the center stick deadzone to any kind of yaw move is always a little jerky unless you are in tripod or cinematic.
Hi Mike, i do have the Mavic Air, but unfortunately i didn't have any additional adjusting possibility, ex.: in Dronie mode the distance adjusting bar. Where could i set the menu to could get any furthers guide bars? Thank you!
Nice tutorial and a good place to start for a novice for a quick start explanation. It would be good to see you setting parameters just to save time for us noobs😊. Just out of interest the location looked familiar to me, where was it?
Great tutorial thank you very much for posting question on the dashboard what is that secondary vertical indicator On the right hand side, nobody is ever explained that in the videos I've watched it's like a vertical blue graph????
@@DroneSupremacy Awesome thank you for your prompt reply I've watched a lot a tutorials and none of them mentioned it or I must have missed it at any rate thank you
Just got my Air and this video was by far the best intro to the flight modes that I found anywhere - even better than the official tuts from DJI. Well done!
can somebody please explain to me how i actually get these quick c shot modes to start i can get the screen up where you set the distance and direction but i cannot actually get it to start ?
You simply need to draw a rectangular over the object/person you want to follow with the quick shot, then simply tap on the green rectangular again to start it - it will also start recording video automatically. It's that simple :) Good luck!
I just got the air man and took it for a basic est flight yesterday! Got some sick shots! But can't wait to try some of the quick shots in some open locations! Its so fun to fly!!
If it's able to detect it (it should be) it will stop. Even in this video, in one of the qiuckshots i had a similar experience and the drone stopped automatically to avoid crashing, so it's very reliable in that sense.
Hi there my friend, I have a question about the Mavic Air. Can I use circle instead of point of interest for filming an object ?? Adjusting seems to me much easier. 🖐🖐🖐
This has probably been asked. Can it record you walking forwards so the drone would be flying backwards? How close can you fly towards or next to the water without losing it? I fear flight to far away.
Thanks Jason! Depends on what OS you're using - for Windows you can try Davinci Resolve (which is free), and is very good. If you want to get better at editing I suggest start with Adobe Premiere and watch a lot of tutorials on RUclips - once you learn the basics it gets easier. For MacOS definitely Final Cut Pro X. Good luck! :)
I liked the way you showed the different features of the MA...pretty simple...cut n dry...direct to the point...I am new to drone videography and already loving it...I have a MA but still in the learning phase...maybe when the weather get better here...I'll try the features on my MA as well...
Nice video!!! Thanks for sharing! One question, how is the wifi connection from 0 to 500m distance? Is the video feed always smooth on the cntroller+mobile on this distances range? As I would only fly it in this range (0 to 500m) I would like the video feed to be very stable and smooth and I have seen many cmplaints about the wifi range (and doubt if buying it or not...). Thanks again.
Hey Marcos! So far the signal has been rock solid for me, especially within that distance. I think it's safe to say the Air performs great at that range, as long as you don't shoot in areas that are super wi-fi dense. So my advice would be to go ahead and pull the trigger, you won't have any problems with the range!
I love how you clearly reviewed and presented every single mode. I had my Mavic Air but don't know how to set the Distance/Rotation method you demonstrated at 2:06, is it because I watched the demo video so the information didn't show up? May well try next time I fly the drone.
Hey there :) You simply need to tap on the mode again to enter the settings for that particular mode - on some modes you can tweak the distance, on others you can play with the rotation (clockwise/anti-clockwise), as well as the speed. let me know if you need some help with that!
Thank you for posting, I learned a lot. Do you know if there is anyway to increase the count time on the intelligent shots from 3 seconds to 5 seconds?
Whenever I press “go” on tapfly on all 4 features, it goes for a second then stops.. I have tried setting Go to many directions but it just stops after a second of it moving towards it.. PLEASE someone help!!!
Hey Mike, thanks for the video. Just one remark. You mentioned but otherwise completely ignored the advantages of the new 3 additional modes of the tap fly mode. Especially the "free" mode is the follow up of the former course lock. It allows you to fly one direction (in a stable and straight line, if you wish!) without having to control the forward stick (just set the speed slider) and you can then steer your camera which direction you want - without losing the chosen direction of the drone course.
Thanks for this remark - I actually believe I had to go deeper and talk about those modes as well, but I have to test them a bit further so I can be helpful with that. Other than that, I've seen a couple of clips and it actually seems quite handy, more than I initially thought. So really, thanks for the heads up and I'll update on that when possible!
I agree, I think you should spend more time with the flight features you didn't like and maybe you'll find that with experience you may change your mind. But this was a great overview.
I need help cause I know nothing about my Mavic, firstly I'm shooting 4k with a 64gb card installed into the drone but the playback is 1280/720? Why is this? Also the camera pictures that I take look terrible I don't know why the iso is set to 100 but my phone's max Res is 2140 so maybe that's why they look bad
Most video I saw the drone is following the object from the person back, How do you make the drone taking video from the front so that you can see the face of the person. Thanks.
Now this is what I call a GOOD tutorial! Now I can really throw away the user's manual from my Mavic Air. :)))... one question please: in Quick flights modes the proximity sensors DO work?? Because you said if there are obstacles in your way you have to stop the flight. And there is also the warning message appearing on the screen. Thank you! Cheers from Romania.
Thanks dude! Yes, they do work all the time - you can see the warnings on the screen, so you should be OK even when you fly near some trees/obstacles - the drone should sense them and avoid them automatically or it will just stop and wait for your command. Have fun with your Air! :)
Don't forget the Air only has front, rear and underside sensors, so if you're doing a circle or helix there's a risk it could crash as it's flying sideways.
Have already taken notice of that .. My AIR was in a 18 days vacation on top of a high tree!!! Luckily and by miracle somebody brought it down and it still works perfectly!! It survived 3 tough rains!!!
Visual Line of Sight.
Не е така, по-скоро в Европа ползваме CE мрежи, които са лимитирани откъм дистанция - особено в сравнение със Щатите/Канада, където се ползва FCC. Ето малко официална информация от DJI за ограниченията според мрежите: What is the Mavic Air’s video transmission range? When connected to the remote controller:2.4GHzFCC: 4000 m, CE: 2000 m, SRRC: 2000 m (unobstructed, free of interference, when FCC compliant).5.8GHzFCC: 4000 m, CE: 500 m, SRRC: 2500 m (unobstructed, free of interference, when FCC compliant).
Thank you for sharing! My air is coming on Thursday, I have a question, once the intelligent mode is completed like rocket, what happens the drone? Does it stay up there? Thanks!
Great Video!! Awesome info. on how all the modes work! I have a question if I may; I understand that you can use Active Track without the RC up to 328’ (100m). What I'm unsure of is; Do you need to have a cellular enabled device that has GPS for example, an iPad w/ cellular in order to fly beyond 328’ (100m)? Thanks 😊

Do u know how to shoot 4k in quick shoot mode ?
In Circle mode, once you touch GO, 1. does it automatic recording? 2. in 1 complete circle do you have to touch STOP or it stop automatically.
1 - It starts recording automatically.
2 - it stops automatically when done and then just hovers
How did you get the sound of the seashore or did you add it for effects.
It’s an effect :)

3 possible reasons:
1) you may be close to a restricted area when you fly, and sometimes when you are close to one the drone may not allow you too fly too far away.

I agree, I think you should spend more time with the flight features you didn't like and maybe you'll find that with experience you may change your mind. But this was a great overview.
Nice video! Did you use any filters on the drone for these clips?
Thanks Reinhard! No, not in this video - everything shot in Auto, in "Normal" color profile - no color grading.
Thank you for the quick reply.
Anytime bud. I'm always around if you need any help, just ask :)
Thank you.
It would be great if you could draw a box around your "point of interest" as I am not sure how it knows what you want as the POI...
Tripod and cinematic modes are the best dude
starting song name please!!!! i see it is from Epidemic Sound but cant find it. So pleeeeeeeaseeeee!!!!!
SHAZAM !!! Everything Shines - Tomas Skyldeberg
thaaanks! Love youuuu!!!!
Nice tips. Thanks man.
Hi. How high does the asteroid mode take the drone ?
Hey Richie, in my case it was around 40 meters.
What's the closest you can get to someone while using active track?
Brilliant video, cheers!!
Great Breakdown! Been itching to get out there and try all these modes! Thanks!
Welcome, Kai! :)
is the sensor working even when it's on intelligent mode?
Yes, unless you're in sport mode!
Nice.. so quick, simple and complete
Can you produce a tutorial video in back wards? Thanks
What do you mean by video in backwards?
Most video I saw the drone is following the object from the person back, How do you make the drone taking video from the front so that you can see the face of the person. Thanks.
Wonderful tutorial and stunning videos, I learnt a lot, thanks.
Plz help me..i wnt to buy a drone..which should i buy mavic pro or air?
I’d say the Air is the better choice
Drone Supremacy ..tnq bro..
It survived 3 tough rains!!!
really nice video! Super useful!
it is possible to record a voice from my drone??
No, it records only video
Visual Line of Sight.
Не е така, по-скоро в Европа ползваме CE мрежи, които са лимитирани откъм дистанция - особено в сравнение със Щатите/Канада, където се ползва FCC. Ето малко официална информация от DJI за ограниченията според мрежите:
What is the Mavic Air’s video transmission range? When connected to the remote controller:2.4GHzFCC: 4000 m, CE: 2000 m, SRRC: 2000 m (unobstructed, free of interference, when FCC compliant).5.8GHzFCC: 4000 m, CE: 500 m, SRRC: 2500 m (unobstructed, free of interference, when FCC compliant).
Thank you for sharing! My air is coming on Thursday, I have a question, once the intelligent mode is completed like rocket, what happens the drone? Does it stay up there? Thanks!
Yes, it goes back to where you started the Quickshot and then it hovers in place, waiting for your next command :)
Thanks 😊
That Rocket shot was the most awesome drone video I ever saw!!!!
Hi can you video in slow- mo with the dji mavic air???
Yes you can! There's an option for 120fps video in 1080P - works great for fast-moving objects.
