- The DJI Mavic Air is an absolutely amazing piece of technology for it's compact size and capabilities. Quickshots was introduced with the DJI Spark and was adopted by the Mavic Pro and Mavic Air. These automated flight mode modes give users the ability to perform complex aerial maneuvers with simple automated controls. In this video, I walk you through all of the quick modes and also talk about some suggestions I would like to see in future software updates.

When you are in "active track" mode, you have the possibility to set the drone circle around you while is tracking and that's how it can circle around you unlimited times.

I've been a little hesitant to use these new flight modes because I haven't been able to find a good enough explanation of what to watch out for to avoid mishaps. This was the first video I've seen that gave me the info I was looking for. Thanks.

Hi! Just a newbie here. If I do quickshots, the beginner mode has to be turned off right? I haven’t tried turning off my “beginner mode”.

Totally agree about a pre-roll, there should be a default option to add a 5 or 10 second tail at the beginning or end of your quickshot

It would be cool if they incorporated quick shots and gestures. It would be cool to have different gestures to do the quick shots with a normal setting for distances so you could do more than follow. Maybe that's coming in future updates.
This is by far the best video tutorial I've seen for QuickShots!! I have found that QuickShots and SmartCapture is shot in a 1920 x 1080 frame rate and in Auto mode. I normally shoot everything in 4K manual mode. Are you stuck using 1920 x 1080 and Auto mode or is there a workaround? Thank you for the superb tutorial.....👍😋
I agree with the continuous loop affect. I want to be able to walk along playing my guitar or just sitting, while the drone flys around me.

Good video, useful tips but it would have been better to see these in action with a dynamic subject. Like the bikers who keep cycling past you to show how well it tracks a moving subject.

Great vid man!! Do you see the drone hype dying down?? I’ll be honest, I haven’t flown in a month and a half. It just seems like it’s the trendy thing to do right now. I know people that have bought really expensive gear and don’t know how to use it. Their just happy to have the best of the best! It’s like when your NFL team has been garbage for years, then one season they make it to the SuoerBowl and now everyone is a fan!! LOL Keep up the great work man!!
Mostly slow because of no new DJI releases. It's just a tool to add to the arsenal. Reminds me of people who want the best DSLR, then put it in auto mode. Then it sits for two years.

If you select, Aldryn, say Helix to do 80m or 140m are the video clips that it produces of the same time length; that is the former is slower?
Is there a longer cable from MicroUSB to Lightning available anywhere, or how did you connect your iPad? With WiFi you wouldn’t need the controller.

Will be using that park for all my QuickShots. Going to New York in November got authorization to fly around Montauk Points light house, the Hamptons and waiting from NYC on the out skirts of The Statue of Liberty and the entire New York Skyline. Hopefully I can launch from the Brooklyn side
When I select the quick shot icon, the next view does not show me the Boomerang or Asteroid selections....Why not and how do I find these? Thanks

Is there any way to get the drone to keep recording after a shooting mode is performed? IE - I would like to take a dronie but I would like it to record on the way out there and on the way back and still record once it’s comes all the way back.
I believe a dronie only records on the way out to the set parameters

So, you actually can do a continuous loop through the active track mode. You just track yourself and then there is a curved slider at the bottom of the screen and you just slide it in the direction you want the drone to circle you. I just got mine, so maybe this feature didn't exist when you made the video. Haha

Terry Randle the Mavic Air battery does get fairly hot, make sure you let them get back to room temp before recharging.

Are the quick shots designed to track human shapes only or could they also track an object like the top of a tower? Thanks.
I am actually interesting on an answer to this question as well...
It seems fairly hit and Miss through my personal experience just today I was trying to do quick shots with a football goal and it worked a couple of times but also on a few occasions it didn't track it and lost it as a subject before the quick shot could begin
i took a quickshot (circle) an object that is a very large decorated christmas tree about 30 meters high and it did circle around it.
Does the max height and distance need to be at a certain setting for the asteriod and helix to work? I had issues not completing the selected quick shot. I noticed I had them set at 30 meters for height and 50 meters for max distance.
sheldon w 30 meters probably is not high enough. The effect looks better the higher you get.
How do you "cancel " a quickshot? example.... you miscalculate a "circle" shot and realize the drone it going to hit something.???
Just move one of the manual control sticks. That automatically takes it out of quick shot mode.
Just hit the circle that shows up on you and it will automatically put the box
