Hi, great video, I was told before I could fly id need to input my flyer id etc, but the app and drone was able to operate straight away. It was second hand though. cheers

Would be so nice if Mavic series had the ATTI mode selectable, so the users could practice it. The way it is now, the user will never know how it works , just when he less expect and it revert to ATTI automatically.

When in fly home mode and struggling against wind there’s no real need to switch to sport mode as this will accelerate the battery far more quickly,
one can just push forward on right stick this will speed drone up,with out having a massive drain on remainder of battery power,

Jeff sorry I hit the wrong button. Continuing, I am not a photographer so that is all new to me. I wanted to ask your advise on video settings for my Air as I am taking it to Key West next week. I plan on doing more video than photos, so any tips you could give me on video and photo settings for that area would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully it will be nice and sunny, here at home it has been rain and more rain. Thanks look forward to hearing from you.

Hi DIY Express! I only calibrate my compass if i get the error on the app stating that it is need. All the app initialization steps should take care of this, so i wouldn't consider this a "must" every time you fly, just when you see the error "calibrate compass".

Yes sir, this is specific for the Mavic Air. The Mavic Pro uses the same Go 4 App, however there will be some slight variation in the features available. Happy Flying!

Because for me dji go 4 app take time to connect.. so i wonder..
Diy Express hi I always turn on the mavic first, then the controller, then the go 4 app. I have much better results if my phone is in airplane mode.
I read somewhere it’s best to turn on controller before mavic so no chance of the mavic binding with another nearby controller.
Any tips on video settings for the Air. I am taking it to key west an hope to get some video done. It will hopefully be nice an sunny.

Great insight to all of the function's of the Go4 app.
Can you tell me what the translucent Scale beside the Record symbol is for?...this has been bugging me since i got mine 18 day's ago.
I have not used any of the Smart Capture features as i have not been able to recallibrate the vision sensor's as yet.
I'm very impressed with mine so far appart from...it seem's a bit slow even when in Sport mode which is my preferred option due to the windy weather we have been having recently.

Hi rcfanaticdublin, thanks for the comment. That's a good question. Actually it is a slider that you can use to control the gimbal movement up/down. I like to used the wheel, but it is nice to have an option on the screen as well.

Thanks for your reply Jeff. I do have the App Store and the DJI Go 4 app on my iPad. I finally got the firmware updated but now there is no connection to my Controller. After 3 hours chatting with DJI support, they're sending me a new one! Go figure.
NOW they have backed out of a replacement and want me to send it in for 2 wks for a repair. Damn these guys. I about done with these people. I think I'm just going to box it all up and return to Amazon, no questions asked!
Do you know any settings that can reduce jagged lines (Aliasing) In still photos on the Mavic Air? Thank You
Eric Cohen thats a good question. Do you see the aliasing with video also. I would guess two things: 1. Try turning down the sharpness in the app. The default is 0. Try -1 and retest. 2. Do you have ND filters yet? This may add to the problem. My shutter speed has had to be really high to get video dark enough until the filters arrive.

Jose Lozano yes you can fly with just a phone or just an ipad. Hold the button on the back of the mavic air for 4 secs (beeps twice). This allows you to go into wifi mode.

Hi Jeff, I like your videos. Just curious question, how far you take your Drone? Do you always fly within your limits or most of the time out of sight but keeping limit?
Thank you Parikshit! Most of my flights are specifically to get a certain shot or series of shots. So most of my flights are within a couple hundred yards/meters of my take off point. I scout out my locations ahead of time usually on multiple days to find the best spot to take off from that is out of the way.
Jeff just watched your video an wish I had seen it sooner. I have had my Mavic Air 6 months and there is so much to learn. Doing ok with flying but the video/photo is just so much to learn. I am not
Paul Rollins thanks for the thumbs up. It is a lot to learn, but that is also part of the fun. I tend to pick one thing to learn at a time and do over and over until it becomes natural. Just learning the app itself is a great start. Cheers!
I have also 2 questions:
1. Would it be ok (legal) to fly UAS from the middle of my fenced backyard (I have neighbors houses all around me) up to 100 feet straight line up and then fly above the residential area (neighborhood) at 100 feet and then fly back the same way? Can someone call cops on me? 2. Can I fly UAS during night, after sunset?

Hi Romeo166166. 1. you can and it is legal up to 400ft(in the U.S.). However, neighbors can still call the cops. In the end it's better to find another spot just to avoid the whole thing(because we all must live together). I made a video with these types of tips: ruclips.net/video/VIKz8xtrDuE/видео.html 2. you can fly up to 30 mins after sunset, but no later. This could be changing soon in the U.S. Hope this helps!

Is there a way to keep the mavic air in "vision mode" for indoor flying? I tried to fly indoors yesterday and i have a lot of metal beams in my house. I got the warning of magnetic interference. Says to move drone or calibrate the compass. But i dont want it to be in gps mode while indoors. Thanks in advance.
Jesse, if you fly indoors, you can go into Tripod mode. This will slow down the responsiveness of the control sticks. The vps is also disabled while in tripod mode, but it does make it easier to control. Definitely high risk of crashing if you fly indoors :) Thanks for the comments!
Hi, now they have added a new option to return to home to the actual altitud. I think this is a bad setting to have turn on!

Jeff Greene i haven't try it. I believe that it will rth the air at the same current altitude.

Hi Jeff, What are your thoughts on using 32ND or 64ND filters on the Mavic Air? Is it over kill?
So I am assuming that the heart means it should be a good idea to buy those ND filters?
Hi Melanie, Good question. It really depends on your situation. I mostly shoot in the morning when the sun is not as bright, so I typically have an ND filter of ND8, and ND16. However, on a bright middle of the day in the summer, I could certainly use a ND32, and ND64.
Hmmmm, ok. I live in the south so yes the sun and heat can be butal! I am going to Ireland in a month so I probably will be ok with the 8ND that I already own. just wanted your thoughts on it....

Hello Jeff Just got my Mavic Air quit excited, I using my Samsong phone . Does dji go 4 support the window surface series? I am having a real hard time getting this thing to even come close to downloading
