  • Hello & Welcome back to Channel Drone Fellows, So today I decided to do a long test on Dji Mini 3 Pro again but this time on the country side. This Test is pure example of the "Radio Signal Transmission" with some added thrill from the channel host.
Doing long range tests on Dji Mini 3 Pro is never out of Risks, You face a ton of challenges and you don't have much freedom to have fun around that's why you need to pull these tests off with a lot of experience and practice otherwise it's costly in many ways.
Moreover this test was performed in a recommended zone by Dji FlyApp also I had a Pre Planned route in mind for this test and i was lucky enough to execute this test according to my plan and achieved 11000 meters on Dji Mini 3 Pro. Thats all i have to say here,

Lessons learned: if you push the Mini 3 Pro to its advertised maximum distance of 10km, you can only make it travel back within 5km from your home point location. You’re a brave soul, Farhaan 😮

      Depends of the speed.

    • @synthyawylder3297
      @synthyawylder3297 Год назад +15

It also depends on the direction of the prevailing winds, which generally increase in velocity, the higher the altitude. But, the higher the altitude, the stronger the signal will typically be; the best compromise will be needed. Ideally, the best weather to try flying maximum distance, is to find a calm, cool day. If a calm day isn't available, then at least, find 1 with a light crosswind, or a slight headwind heading out. The drone will fly with a conservative battery estimate, & a tailwind on the return will help with its returning on a low battery.

more like very irresponsible and stupid.... at distance battery is very inaccurate, he's very lucky he didn't crash it or have it drop out of the sky..... and he just stopped landing and then stopped descending!! not smart..... I've seen people do this and think they have 10 percent battery, but the signal is not strong so it doesn't update correct, and it drops out of the sky from 300 meters and shatters into twenty pieces.... never trust their battery percentage... especially when its below 15 percent... its almost always wrong.....

@@nostalgiaarcadefuture He was flying over a sparsely populated rural area so I wouldn't agree that his experiment was irresponsible or ill advised.
If anything, seeing this model drone pushed to its absolute limit gives other owners a better idea of how they might be able to limp the drone home in the event that headwinds consume battey power faster than expected. The only risk I could see in this video clip was that of losing the drone, which the pilot was prepared to assume at his own expense, so as o educate others.

So, nobody has mentioned this yet. And, they really don't need to mention it because it is in the words you read, Faarhan. Let me provide details.
Foremost, I am Bryan, and I live in Idaho, USA. It is high desert like Pakistan. 😊
You are in a distant country from your viewer like me. You noted Pakistan. Many of us are in western countries, like the U.S. or a European country.
Our cultures and our faiths/religions are different.
    But, not really.
We all have joys of life where we live and our families and friends.
Yet, it is through technologies like the Internet, RUclips, and the love and passion we have for drones that bring us together and share with each other across the globe our own small world to each other.
Thank you for sharing some of your small world with us in the rest of the world.
The funny part is that we watch the video without speeding it up just as you have lived it, of course you have sped it up a few times. But, we want to experience the similar exhilaration as you are experiencing as you do it live.
    Again, THANK YOU‼️

      @FarhaanManan  Год назад +3

That is one lovely comment my friend Bryan,
Humanity is important for all of us on this giant world, We may live in different countries and have different beliefs and cultures but In my mind we are all the same, we are people of same world and we try to make this world much better by connecting to each other in a good way possible, you words are stored safe with me, I don’t have much to offer in return but I would say if there are more human families like yours we will not be causing problems rather than solving it, I appreciate your time that you and the others invested on something that I created, Stay Happy, Stay Gold & Much Respect ✊🏼

You have to mind the wind speed at different altitude. Drone always try to push for consistent speed automatically, it uses more or less energy to compensate for changing wind conditions. You can see that as the timer jumps so much - it shows approximation only using current power draw basically. So if you get air moving at the same direction as drone, the drone will use less power and timer will show a lot of time left. Coming back against wind can draw battery much faster then you anticipated, that's why it is dangerous to plan a flight using all 100% of the battery. Always mind potential headwind on the way back. One way to solve it - to stay low, usually less windy. But then you will get problems with connection - usually happens near groups of buildings, if some of them use WIFI or other 2.4/5.8Ghz devices, it will create interference. I am sorry if being obvious here, those where the questions in the video. What more to say - very good Intime decision making at the end of the video there, with low battery.

Now that's what I call a Stick Jokey with a lot of BALLS lol, a great flight, I live in the UK and have updated my RC with External Antennas and have achieved over 6,000 meters in CE Mode from a ground position and flying at a legal height of under 120 meters, this beat my long-range test with the Internal antennas of just over 2,000 meters.

Dear Thomas, This test was performed in FCC mode also there is one other video on my RUclips channel, I made it my channel trailer there I achieved 8000m on 75% battery under legal hight limit “120m” you may like that video as well just for the difference to see in the FCC and CE & I am glad you liked this video, Have a fantastic weekend :)

This reminds me of the list I use when I fly out a long way.
    1. Fly with the wind travelling towards your face this way you will have the wid to help you flyback.
    2. For areas with no high structures turn off obstacle avoidance to save battery.
    3. on return to home lower the drone to avoid high winds which will drain your battery.
    4. Never fly low long range over water. the static of the water can bring your drone down
    6. Avoid hand launching when doing long range tests.
    7. Be sure you have a good number of satellites Before you take off, this will help prevent fly aways.
8.Remember to set your return to home height before you take off, so the drone can avoid high structures if you lose connection.
If anyone can think of anything I have missed please comment .
P.s I think that maybe you could have made it all the way back but you had a good back up plan,. 😊

Outstanding test, Sir -- possibly a better range test than DJI itself has ever done. Who would have thought that the Mini 3 Pro could get 11 km range? It is incredible that the Mini 3 Pro could have such range. You are a brave drone pilot to take the risks of such a long flight but it seems like you were very well prepared for finding wherever the drone would land after pushing its battery to its limit. Thank you to both of you of doing such an outstanding, thorough test!

Thanks so much for your kind words and You’re right I did calculated the flight path and battery consumption on return, My attempt was to go 12KM but that didn’t work out at first try, I gave it another try and got 12KM (Video available on My Channel) You wouldn’t believe this area was perfect to test the 12KM range on Dji Mini 3 Pro and land back exactly where i wanted at almost zero battery, I was lucky that wind didn’t gave me any hard time.

@@213BRANDONPthat is true but the battery was dead at that point so he could not rely on that. If he had someone out in a chase car he might have been able to use that feature with the last little bit of battery left. It probably took 20 minutes or more for them to hike off that mountain and then drive to the location.

Interesting video and it had me a bit anxious about your drone though. Flying at that altitude in those wind conditions you realistically had about 7500 meters safe range meaning, you could land it at your feet. Most countries have a maximum legal altitude of 120 meters for a drone. It would be interesting to see a test done with a launch from a ten story building to get the remote above the ground clutter and flying at that altitude.
